Hi everyone! We hope everyone’s Thanksgiving has gone well, and that everyone had the chance to enjoy quality time with their loved ones.

It’s with a bittersweet heart that we write this message to announce a new era in DiVerona. The admins spent much of the past month discussing our individual muses and motivations, and every admin came to the same conclusion: that though we deeply loved what this group gave to us (from the friends we’ve made to our own characters), we were ready to move on. We are proud of what we’ve done as a team, but we don’t take lightly how taxing these past two years have been. As many of you can guess, running a group as expansive, long-standing and intense as DiVerona is no easy feat. We wouldn’t take it back for the world, but we also feel that this is the best step forward for the group.

Effective immediately, the admins will be stepping down and closing the group. In the Discord chat, we will post a link to view the outline we created for the final scene of Act II and the rest of Act III. After two years of running a passionate, inclusive and dedicated group, we felt that each of you deserved to know the story we planned.

As many of you know, we also took the time to have a quick chat with each member of the group to gauge current muse and interest in their characters. Even for us admins, we know there is a marked difference between having the motivation to run a group versus writing our characters.

With that in mind, we will allow our members to continue writing in the DiVerona world with their individual characters, with all of the following conditions:

You are a current member of DiVerona. If you are a past member of DiVerona and left the group (for personal reasons, activity or otherwise), you must request our permission to write any DiVerona characters.

You are currently writing the character in question. If you wish to play a character who you previously wrote or have never written, you must receive permission from the main.

We are unbelievably grateful to have had the experience to see characters develop so extensively on the dash, not to mention our own. We don’t see this as the end of DiVerona, but rather as a new era. DiVerona will be a group without admins and without an organized storyline.

If you have any questions, we will be creating a chat in the Discord specifically for members to ask questions. We ask that you use the Discord chat exclusively, as we will be limiting our usage of the main and would like to stay away from personal DMs for the sake of transparency. For those of you interested in continuing the story, keep your eyes peeled for information on the Witches, which will make an appearance on the dashboard soon. Thank you for a wonderful two years!

Most likely not, anon. While there’s always a slim chance, we feel very strongly that this is the best compromise for everyone involved, including the admins, current members as well as new members.

If we could, we would put every single player’s threads in a graphic. But, we had to practice temperance in this case. Every player will be highlighted alternating week-to-week based on observation and on submissions to the DIVERONA QUOTES BLOG. Every player will stand in the spotlight because every one of you deserves to!

would you say that the montagues are winning the war, considering they own over twice the amount of locations that the capulets do?

Locations have no impact on the overall outcome of the war. They’re merely used as a way for us to be able to keep up with its progress and trace the strikes that both mobs have landed on each other -- and also as a means of throwing fun plots at the characters!

While it can indicate which mob is a few steps ahead of the other, it definitely has no bearing on who’s winning the war, since there’s a lot more to that than expanding one’s territory! Not to mention that overall, the war in Verona is so volatile and ever-shifting that you really can’t trust things to remain as they are for too long. You’ll just have to wait and see! :)

hi! i noticed on the character page that hotel emelia is a montague territory. when was it acquired by the montagues? and what were the political ramifications of this?

Hello! If you take a look at our TIMELINE PAGE in the section dated with December 22nd, 2018, you will see that that was when Hotel Emelia was acquired by the Montagues. The political ramifications were limited to the Montagues’ scope of power, which increased greatly in the wake of the Witches’ orchestrated murder. Having the advantage of the element of surprise, they were able to seize two neutral territories for themselves, Hotel Emelia and Teatro Nuovo. Alongside the increase in territory and revenue that resulted from that, I would say another political ramification was that it garnered them the attention of QUEEN MAB, who afterwards decided to offer her services to both mobs equally (for a price) rather than keep them exclusive to the Capulets.

may i ask why mona & loretta aren't on the most wanted page any longer? are they still wanted?

Yes, of course you can! Our Most Wanted characters are determined by how many bio connections are taken. We also take into account how much interest we’ve seen in both characters. So for example, LORETTA has fewer connections than those who are currently on the list. While MONA has three bio connections taken, she’s been on the list for a very long time without any applications, so we wanted to give our other beloved characters their time in the spotlight as well! 

We can’t express this enough: all of our characters are wanted. The page was made because we get so many requests on who our most wanted characters are, and we wanted to help currently taken characters with their bio connections!

is jolie nguyen still acceptable for pandora phan?

Yes, she would still be acceptable! Tiffany Meia is Mongolian and Vietnamese, so we would be okay with a faceclaim who is mixed, Mongolian or Vietnamese.

i noticed you guys changed benedick's faceclaim! can we still use a latinx fc for him or does he have to be white now?

Hi! That’s fully a mistake on my part -- for some reason I’d thought that his previous faceclaim was white Latinx and didn’t think to double check before switching. Benedick’s faceclaim has been changed again, and we’d like it if his faceclaim remained Latinx. I apologize!

Hi anon! We have a Most Wanted category on our MASTERLIST, as well as a TAG for the bios of our most wanted characters. We select these characters based on how many of their connections are taken, and I just went in and updated the list today!
