[Long story short; I dropped off of the face of everything to go sort out some other shit. I still live! But I also don’t think I’ll be reviving the old cast. At least, not for Roleplay for a good long while; I do plan to steal up these characters and do -something- with them in the eventual-future. 

I’ve been focusing a lot on figuring out where I want to go and how to get there, and lately that’s leaning heavily into taking art and comics very seriously. I’m in the process of trying to figure out this “branding” thing and how to build myself up as a functional artist. My present skills are no-where REMOTELY near where I want to be -- but the only way to get there is to just, keep going. And so we keep on going.

I’m also still Roleplaying -- but at the moment, all of my energy and focus has fallen back onto Furcadia. I don’t own my own area any more, but I’ve been an active participant in a larger community. If anyone wants to hunt me down on Furc-side, just hit up Hashenn.

I say all this because you folks are sweet, and while it’s tougher to get in contact with me, I don’t want to cut off all communications. I’m not entirely sure what I’ll do with this account; I want to save all of the blog posts and everything I’ve done with this place over the years. But I’m also flip-flopping between wanting to reclaim the username EctopicFantast for an art label, or start over with a new handle; VanguardFantast. It’s all really experimental and clumsy right now.

I may end up trying to form up a proper artist group, too, somewhere. Maybe on its own Discord server or something. I’m not sure. I want to get in contact with more people working on more things, that’d be pretty sweet.

I’m still going to be lurking on here on-and-off while I try to figure out how I want to rebuild ... Basically everything. So feel free to hit me up in asks or whatever-else means of communication. I’m pretty busy so I might be quiet/awkward on one-on-one chats, but I’d be down for group chats again where I can drop in at random.

I’ve run out of things to say, I think.

TL;DR: My focus is turning more to drawing and creative than accidentally sinking 8 hours into tumblr a day, but I still want to keep in touch! My cast of weird characters is shelved for now, and will likely be used for other projects in the future. I play furc and can be found there if people are still into that. Don’t be shy to hit me up and to keep in touch! I’m open to group-chats.

Remember this post about my WW AU where Link’s Grandma dons the hero’s clothes to save Link and Aryll? Well I wrote out a whole little comic to introduce the concept.

I’d been kicking this idea around for a while and trying to think about how to articulate it. Pretty happy with how it eventually turned out! 

Sometimes I think about my reasons for getting tattoos (just for myself, not because they need justification). Adding onto this painting metaphore, I think getting ink is a way for me to put down portable roots. I move a lot and will be doing it again soon, and until I can actually settle down and paint some walls I’ll take visual control of something more accessible, namely myself.

Practice on head variations; an interesting technique was offered, involving the angles of faces and how different they can be from one another. So of course, I had to test it out with my cast of (mostly) humanoid characters. Special guest Sakura, Koishe, and Mius! Designs not completely concrete – especially Sakura’s. I really need to settle on her face type.
