A/N: Hello, thank you for your request! I LOVE angst and hurt/comfort, so have no worries, writing this was absolutely fun and I loved the prompt! I've been getting quite a few requests, so in order to get to them all I've decided to do 3 characters for each request. I hope you're okay with the ones I chose! Ei had been busy for the past weeks. Being busy for her meant being in her Plane of Euthymia meditating. After the latest events with Makoto, the Sacred Sakura and fighting the puppet of the Shogun, Ei had quite a lot in her mind to process, and she needed to find a new meaning for the eternity that she was seeking, one that would welcome the new changes ahead in the future with ease.
During one of her meditating sessions, Ei fell asleep. Though gods don’t need sleep, so it would be fairer to say she entered a deep meditative state, and she had a vision. She relived the fall of Khaenri'ah, the loss of her sister, the last words Makoto left for her. She snapped out of the meditative state and decided to head to the Tenshukaku, where she knew she would find you.
Ei craved your presence when she was agitated, for the sole reason that you’re one of the only people in this world capable of taming her raging storm inside and ease her pain. Still, Ei is ever the stubborn one, and she refuses to speak in depth of what troubles her mind, so most of the time you’re left with guesses and trying to make the most with that little you have of her true emotions.
When you received her in the Tenshukaku, you knew right away she was fairly agitated. You asked, but Ei didn’t let on much, so you tried to lighten up the situation, brushing off her worries with a teasing manner.
“Come on, you’ve been meditating for weeks and you still haven’t resolved on a plan for eternity? Maybe you should take a break, give your brain juices time to recharge their magical energy.”
You chuckled, but Ei turned to you with a grave expression on her face. She was upset you were taking the situation so lightly despite her not having told you what bothered her in the first place. Ei loses her temper and snaps at you.
“What do you know about eternity? You’re nothing more than a common mortal. Your very existence in the first place is but a fleeting moment in my presence.” She says, voice sharp like a knife, commanding like an archon. She had never spoken to you like that before. “I will not trouble myself listening to you any further. Leave this place.”
You’re broken-hearted and at loss for words. You stare at her for a couple of seconds, but Ei keeps her stern gaze on you: cold, unmoving and unchanging, so you decide to leave.
Ei feels bad about it, about the way your eyes glistened with unshed tears when you left, but she mostly feels mad that you had taken her emotions so lightly.
The first night passes and you don’t return. Then, it’s the second, the third, the first week. Days go by easily and Ei hasn’t heard of you ever since. She’s not one to grow worried, she knows you can handle yourself and if you wished to come back, you simply would. But a small part of her, the most human part of the archon, harbors the fear that you might as well never come back, and that stirs a dark and unbridled fear inside her that she hadn’t felt in eons. As days pass and she hasn’t heard from you, she has Kujou Sara look for you, but when the soldier returns empty handed to the Tenshukaku, Ei understands it’s of no use. She starts worrying you won’t be coming back to her, and a part of her understands there’s no one to blame but herself if she were to lose you for good.
Two weeks later, Ei suddenly feels your presence inside the Tenshukaku, and she rushes to find you, barging room after room, her chest heaving.
When she finally finds you, she stops in her tracks. She finds you in your shared room, your back to her and your eyes facing the window, the stars that welcome you beyond where your gaze can reach.
“I thought I wouldn’t see you again.” Ei says, voice low and unsure. Like she isn’t the electro archon when she’s with you, but simply Ei. The same Ei that hurt you with her sharp words and her pride.
“I thought about it. About leaving for good.” You shake your head, slowly turn to her. Ei’s chest feels tight at the sight of you again. “But it didn’t feel right, not when I still have so much to say to you.”
Ei closes the door behind her and walks up to you slowly, and you let her hold one of your hands in hers, much colder to the touch.
“I do too. You must accept my apology, I wasn’t in my right mind when I spoke to you. Your existence as a human may be fleeting, but that’s why I wish to cherish every second you bless me with your presence.” Ei says, low and soft, lets the confession hang in the air between the two of you, pulse rushing and memories flooding in her head. “I’ve lost most of the people I’ve come to love in this life. Please, stay by my side.”
You’re quick to shake your head, tufts of hair framing your face with ease.
“I must apologize too. It was insensitive of me to try and brush the subject with a joke.” You slowly hold her face in your hands, brushing with your thumb right underneath her eyes, and watch Ei find shelter in your touch, eyes closing briefly. You feel your heart overflowing with affection. “Ei, my lovely Ei. You saw something when you were meditating, didn’t you? Let’s go to bed and tell me about it. I wish to listen to you like I should’ve done in the first place. That is, if you’ll still have me.”
“Yes.” Ei smiles, holding your hands above her cheeks. “I would love nothing more than that.”
Jean had spent the day working at the Knight of Favonius headquarters like she usually does, buried in paperwork and requests from all across town, but there’s one thing that had been especially hard managing this morning: Klee had been exceptionally mischievous today.
She had sneaked off and placed bombs on the roads waiting for Hilichurls to pass, her wishful and honest attempt at helping Jean with her workload, thinking if there were no Hilichurls causing trouble, Jean might get some time off to spend playing with her. Instead, a merchant drove by exactly where Klee had placed the bombs, and in a matter of seconds all his goods were flying off in flames. Jean had to purposefully apologize to the merchant, spare the money from the Favonius Headquarters to pay him back and write a full report on the accident that took quite some time from her already packed morning, aside from tracking down Klee who was hiding in fear of her punishment and making sure she didn’t sneak off solitary confinement again, like she’s done multiple times in the past.
By the time she made it home, Jean was exhausted. She wanted nothing more than to go to bed and close her eyes, but she knew that you meant well when you asked her about her tired expression, so she started telling you about the tiresome day she’s had. To her surprise, when she started telling you about it, you brushed it off quickly.
“Haven’t you been taking care of Klee for years now? You can practically smell her mischievousness from miles away.” You chuckle, remembering Klee’s tiny innocent grin whenever she’s done something that the adults wouldn't approve of. “Perhaps you’re getting rusty on handling her, or maybe the child is outgrowing the mother, huh?”
Jean feels very upset at this, though mostly she feels very tired and very little respected by your words, and she surprises herself by snapping at you.
“You know nothing of how it really is. How troublesome, how terribly tiring it is.” Jean drags her hands through her hair, exhaling as you watch her with wide eyes. “It’s always me who shoulders all the bothersome tasks, isn’t it? I handle the paperwork, I patrol the streets, I handle the child. What do you do for Mondstadt?”
She stares at you, her blue eyes that you usually find overflowing with affection now look at you with a coldness you hadn’t seen before, and you feel your throat closing in, a familiar sting behind your eyes. You don’t bother with a reply, opting instead to rush out of the room. Jean doesn’t even call for you, she doesn’t have the energy. She sits on the couch, burying her face in her hands, her mind conflicted and her heart ever so heavy sitting on her ribs.
Jean expects you to come back, but you don’t. She waits for hours, sitting on the couch that’s closest to the front door, but you never arrive. She stays up all night, or mostly, falling in and out of consciousness as she waits for the sound of your keys on the door, but they never came.
When you don’t come back home the following day, she starts growing worried. She assumes you’ll come home when you’re ready and she goes to sleep without you, though she doesn’t really rest. Jean doesn’t see you the next day, or the day after, and she starts asking around, her anxiety growing by each moment she doesn’t receive good news, but no one seems to know where you’re at. She wants to leave her office and go look for you in the streets, across the city, out in the wilderness, but she knows she can't abandon her job like that, not when there’s a city depending on her and her alone.
It’s on the sixth night when she suddenly finds you, cooking in the kitchen of your shared house as if you never left.
Jean drops all the papers she was carrying when walking through the door and is quick to wrap you in a hug, her arms holding your back tightly against her, your warmth that welcomes her under.
“Where were you? What were you thinking? You had me worried sick.” Jean searches your eyes, frantic, feeling some stray tears running down her cheeks. Her voice sounds rushed and distressed, and your heart shatters at the sight of her so worried about you. “Are you alright? Did anything happen to you?”
You shake your head, holding her hands over your cheeks, rubbing slow circles on the back of her hands with your thumbs, soothing.
“I’m okay. I needed to cool off, so I went to fight some monsters. I ended up straying off and staying a couple more days than intended, but I’m alright.” You say, voice low and gentle. “I’m sorry you were worried.”
“It’s okay.” Jean sighs, placing her forehead against yours, and prepares to pour forever. “I’m just glad you’re back. You have no idea how bad I felt, I…”
“I should be the one apologizing. In fact, I was trying to cook dinner for you as an apology, but you came earlier than I anticipated.” You draw a shy smile, pointing at the half-finished dinner with your eyes.
“I apologize as well. I didn’t mean any of what I said, I hope you know that.” Jean says, voice honest and urgent, like she’s asking you to reassure her that you believe her, that you know how much she loves you. You kiss her cheek softly, keeping your lips on her soft skin a moment longer than needed, and draw a gentle smile for her. Jean mimics you, her own relieved smile dancing on her lips. “How about we both cook this apology dinner? Let me wash my hands, I’ll come help you right away.”
Beidou had been out at sea. You had gone to the port with her, helping her carry the bags and boxes with all the things she was going to need for her trip, waving goodbye at her with a heavy heart as you watched her energetic figure and then her boat blurry into the line of the horizon. Beidou said she’d be out for three weeks, but she surprised everyone when she came back after no more than 5 days at the sea.
Her ship had encountered a big storm, gigantic waves of ruthless water caused by a sea serpent, longer than the night and fangs bigger than the mast of the Alcor. Beidou’s crew had fought bravely, blow after blow with all their might against the sea beast, but the serpent took the life of one of her crewmates, throwing him into the ruthless waters as Beidou and their crew watched in horror and helplessness how the seas engulfed their former friend.
Blinded by rage, Beidou managed to defeat the beast. Enhancing her power with the loss of someone that used to be part of their family, feeling the rush of thunder cracking inside her bones, the electricity traveling inside her veins, burning at her heart, collapsing her lungs as she defeated the sea beast, the silence that came after only overshadowed by Beidou’s raw scream into the night. The trip back to land was a gloomy one, and after making sure the rest of the crew was alright, neither of them spoke much of what had happened.
When Beidou arrived home, body full of scratches and bruises, all she wanted was to tell you the terrible things that had happened and drift off to a dreamless sleep for days on end.
You greet her, helping her arrive at your shared house in the Harbor. When you ask worriedly about her injuries, she simply tells you that she fought a sea monster but the storm had gotten so bad that they had to turn back. She was planning to tell you the whole thing, really, but then you made an unfortunate remark that left Beidou frozen in place.
“That sea beast had it coming, but your crew was very lucky to have you there! No harm comes to anyone when captain Beidou is around, right?”
You say, a bright smile dancing on your lips. Your words are nothing but full of admiration for her, but Beidou’s guilt is what bites back at you.
“What would you know of what captain Beidou is like? You only ever see me when I’m on land, once every three weeks.” She says, her eye sharp like a blade as she turns her back to you, unable to meet your eyes, her blood boiling out of frustration. “You know nothing about me. Don’t speak as if you did.”
If Beidou were to place her ear on your chest, she would hear the sound of your heart shattering in an instant. You meant nothing wrong with your words, yet you received such heavy punishment. You press your lips into a thin line and leave the room altogether. Beidou feels bad about everything, her heavy heart sitting on her chest with regret for a million things, but her body aches too much to chase after you.
She expects you to come back soon, but the hours pass and there’s no sight of you. Beidou drifts off to sleep on the bed out of exhaustion, and by the time she wakes up, the sun setting over the window in your room, you’re still nowhere to be found.
Beidou is putting her boots on again, body aching and burning with her injuries, when she sees you come through the door.
“Where were you?” Beidou asks, but there’s no bite to it, only a worn-off concern for you.
“You’re hurt.” You mention, reluctant to say more in fear of Beidou’s anger again, your eyes scanning the room, every single place but her face. “I wanted to patch up your wounds, but we had no bandages left, so I went to the other side of town to get them. Is it okay if… I tend to you?”
Beidou nods and lets you do, slowly revealing her naked torso to you. You sit behind her in bed, and you reluctantly start working on her bruises in silence, cleaning the wounds with the utmost care and affection.
You had listened to the full story of what happened to Beidou’s crew while you were out in town. You finally understood why your words had rubbed Beidou the wrong way, and you knew how bad she must be feeling about everything, but you had no clue as to where to start this conversation with her. Beidou is the one to finally break the silence between the two of you, her voice low and heavy with emotion.
“Listen. Please, forgive me. It was way out of line for me to snap like that. I was feeling beat up. I couldn’t save that man, and when you said that… Looking at me with such admiration and love… I felt like a fraud.” Beidou says, opening and closing her hands over her lap, watching the tendons move. “I’m sorry.”
“You’re not a fraud. You’re the strongest person I know. I may not have been there, but I know you did everything in your power to help them.” Your voice is gentle when it reaches Beidou’s ears, and suddenly she feels her chest overflowing with affection for you, the sting of tears sitting behind her eyes. She feels you shift behind her in bed, gently placing your lips to the back of her neck, leaving a kiss on the warm skin that meets you under. “I apologize too. I should’ve listened to you before saying anything.”
Beidou turns to you, looks at you for a second before replying, the weight of all her love for you sitting on her tongue, and she can’t seem to find the words to describe just how much you make her feel.
“Thank you. And I want you to know I didn’t mean any of what I said.” She holds your hand gently and places a kiss there. “There’s no one in this world who knows me better than you. I love you.”

A/n: Oh my god the power I have with this request, it had me feeling some type of way especially after Ningguang’s hangout event releasing
• Lisa had lingerie just scattered in her closet. This woman was full of love for herself even before you two started dating. She would consider it a healthy act of self-love to just go shopping one Saturday morning for some lingerie for herself.
• She would be dying to see your reaction to them, some of the more scandalous than others. She’ll look at a matching set she owned and just giggle to herself, all the power and control she could have with these.
It was a late Wednesday night, maybe 11 pm in the library. You were abusing your relationship with Lisa by overstaying your welcome to study some books. You looked down at the text in pure focus, only to hear the door creak open slowly.
There emerged your beautiful girlfriend Lisa, she had a loose night robe on. She let out a yawn before making her way to your table. “It’s late out now, why not come home with me? I’ll make it worth your while,” she giggled seeing how flustered her statement made you.
“No I think I’ll stay here,” you replied firmly. Lisa always made such provocative remarks, you’d be a fool to always fall for them. “Lisa, why don’t you put some more clothes on? The night wind must be chilly.” You commented on her rather lacking attire.
“Ara ara~ so you noticed?” She said disregarding your concerns. “I knew you’d say no to my offer. So I took the initiative and brought the show to you,” her hands began traveling to her lower region, untying the knot that kept her whole outfit together.
As her gown slipped to the floor there stood a half-naked Lisa. Her hands ran down her own body as she looked directly into your eyes. Your mouth wide open, she’s pulled some daring moves before, but never on this wide-scale. “You like what you see hmm?” She asked as she approached you, her arm snaking around your neck as she was readying to straddle you.
• Ningguang was a woman of luxury. Unless it was her time of the month, she was probably wearing the most expensive, finest, linen in Liyue Harbor 24/7. She even had a couple of pairs specially tailored to her taste all at the cost of a small fortune.
• Ningguang would set up a whole date for you two only for the final event that she planned to be quite scandalous. She would have you wait outside of her changing room as she undressed, only for her to come out to you half-naked.
Ningguang and you had just gotten back from a five-star restaurant reservation that she had paid for. She was determined to treat you out today, and that involved not just with food, but her body. Towards the end of the night specifically, she led you up to the newly reformed Jade Chamber, having you wait outside her changing room.
“Are you okay?” You asked her from the opposite room. “You’re only changing into your pajamas and it’s been quite a while.” indeed, eight minutes had passed and Ningguang was still not out, but you had been listening to her shuffling and scurrying around.
“Patience,” she ordered. “I had this specially tailored to me. Let’s just say it’s a little surprise for you as well. I think you’ll fancy it just fine,” you started to grow nervous. Sweat dripping from your forehead, what devious scheme was she planning this time.
She opened the door to reveal her half-naked body. She was in beige-colored lingerie, barely covering her private parts, she was practically naked at this point. Her hair loosely draped down her body to hug her curves. Your jaw dropped to the floor, “well?” She asked you. “Do you find this sexy? Here touch,” she grabbed your hand, guiding you to her left breast.
Your hand brushed over her boob, squeezing ever so slightly, feeling the indents and hidden stitching. “Soft right?” She asked you for confirmation, her eyes looking directly into yours. It was incredibly soft, you had trouble distinguishing cloth from the skin. “Based on your reaction, I’d say I should’ve paid this seamstress more.”
• Beidou probably didn’t have much lingerie, she was the type of girl to wear boy shorts and a sports bra on a daily. But that didn’t mean she didn’t own any. She probably had lingerie from all over the world, her favorite pair was one she picked up from Ritou in Inazuma.
• She would wait till they’ve docked, the crew all out to say hello to their families. Meaning, you two were all alone on the boat. She would tell you she was going to compensate you for all your hard work recently. The compensation in mind being her body.
Beidou was surprisingly rarely ever genuinely in the mood to appeal sexy. She was the type of girl to tease you and then get cold feet and run away when you took action. If she was in the mood, it was most likely you on the bottom, impressing her with your ‘assets’.
This time however Beidou had you wait on the ship with her. Normally you would leave the moment you docked to go grab a refreshing meal from Wanmin, you craved it after eating saltwater fish for three weeks straight. But Beidou promised that if you were hungry, she’d feed you good if you stayed.
“Beidou are you doing alright in there!?” You called out to her main quarters as you waited for her on deck, your stomach growling loudly. She told you she would be changing clothes, and if you peaked you were dead meat.
As if on cue, she opened the door just a crack, grabbing you by the collar of your shirt as she pulled you into the room swiftly. There stood Beidou practically naked. Her pose was surprisingly feminine, covering her bare stomach as she gripped her arm. A heavy blush on her face as she averted her eyes. You stood with your eyes wide open, taking in such a rare sight. “Well?” She asked you in her masculine voice, getting impatient by the minute.
“Are you going to do anything to me? If you’re still hungry I’ll give you permission to eat me,” She asked trying to gather the same confidence she had whenever she normally dominated you. She never knew how embarrassing it was to be the only one naked. Her maroon-colored set complimented her hair well, it was almost a perfect color to match her eyepatch directly.“It's rude to keep a lady waiting,” She persisted.
• Keqing had a shopping addiction, meaning she probably owned a couple of luxury name brand pairs. However, unlike the rest of her peers like Ningguang, she simply wore whatever was in her closet, which was typically pretty modest.
• She would only dress up underneath her clothes when she knew you two were going to do something later that night. She wanted to impress you, of course, so she would wear her finest pairs to make the situation feel special.
Keqing stood on her tippy toes to whisper in your ear. “Hey remember when I said I had a surprise for you earlier today?” She asked you, you nodded quickly. “Wait right here. I’ll go fetch it,” she scurried to her bedroom, leaving you with a pit in your stomach on the couch alone. You had a slight feeling you knew what it was.
After around six minutes Keqing announced to you from the bedroom. “Okay, I’m ready! Close your eyes or I’ll kill you,” she threatened. You squeezed your eyes shut, your hands covering your eyelids for double protection.
You heard the door creak open, her footsteps approaching to stand stationary in front of you. “Okay open,” as you opened your eyes your jaw dropped open. There stood your beautiful girlfriend in a navy blue set of lingerie. Quite scandalous as well, even for Keqing’s standards.
She had a bright pink flush on her face, her hands held behind her back and her feet crossed as she stood shyly. “Quit staring you, pervert,” she mumbled at you. You couldn’t honor her wishes, your eyes glued to her thong and triangular-shaped bra. You were practically drooling for her at this point.

in the hectic schedule of the acting grandmaster, your absence sticks out like a sore thumb. for a woman who is constantly being expected to move, to serve, and to uphold the freedom of mondstadt, jean almost feels selfish for wanting you back by her side. you are the only person who can rest their hands on her shoulders and actually get her to relax. loosen her ponytail and card your fingers through her blonde locks and jean melts directly into your arms.
but now, you're not here. you haven't been for a while.
letters arrive from you on a weekly basis. the delivery boy is punctual in his affairs, handing jean the wax sealed envelope. a deep blue seal on its back crease lets her know that its from you, but the familiarity of your handwriting on the front of the envelope would have let her know either way. the letters always smell of you and jean wonders if you sprayed your choice of fragrance on the parchment knowing full and well that she would check.
two more months, jean thinks bitterly as she fills out yet another form in her office. fatigue pushes at the edges of her mind, threatening to crawl in and claim the territory as its own, yet the caffeinated tea on her desk prevents it from fully taking hold of her. normally around this time of night, you'd manage to sneak into her office and wrap your arms around her shoulders, cooing about how you're nervous to walk the (incredibly safe) streets of mondstadt at night and how you need a big strong woman to walk you home.
who was jean to not have helped a person in need? she still went with you every night you requested, even if it would result in you helping her by making her dinner and coaxing her to bed. lisa and kaeya were in awe of the power you held over the acting grandmaster, asking what your trick was to get the ever-busy dandelion knight to finally slow down. you would wink at them every time and say one word. love.
jean's heart aches at the memory.
"jean?" a voice says from the doorway. its familiar sultriness is immediately recognized by jean and she looks up, plastering a smile on her face.
"hi, lisa. is there anything i can assist you with?"
jean is thankful her voice doesn't sound like the melancholy woefulness she feels inside.
"there's someone wishing to speak with you in the lobby. i wasn't sure if you were busy or not, but i don't think you'd want to keep them waiting." lisa's voice has a teasing lilt to it, but jean's too exhausted to understand the hidden meaning. tiredly, the blonde nods before running a hand over her face in an attempt to wipe away the sleepiness.
"yes, of course, i'll be right with them," jean says before finishing up the sentence on her paperwork. lisa excuses herself and, only a few moments later, jean stands up and exits her office.
jean loses her breath at the sight of you, standing in all of your glory in the center of the knights of favonius headquarters. you send her a sheepish smile and jean freezes in place, gawking at you.
"hi, dandelion," you greet, paying no mind to the various knights that have turned to watch the reunion unfolding.
like an impromptu gust of wind, jean finds herself bolting over to you. in an uncharacteristic display of affection, she throws her arms around your shoulders and barrels into you in a loving, sincere hug. she buries her face in the crook of your neck, breathing you in as your chest rumbles with surprised laughter at her actions.
"i'm guessing you missed me?" you tease and jean clutches you closer to her in response.
"every day, every hour i missed you," jean mumbles into your skin. you press a kiss to her hair and hold her close, relishing in the fact that you can finally hold your lover near you once more.
after melting into the hug, jean suddenly stiffens under your touch before abruptly pulling away. scarlet streaks of embarrassment stain her cheeks as she nervously glances around before worriedly smoothing out her uniform. every onlooking knight suddenly glances away from her nervous look, busying themselves with studying the floor rather than letting the acting grandmaster know that they saw her outburst of affection towards you.
you let out a gentle laugh at her sudden formality towards you and extend a hand out to her. she slowly takes it in her own, interlacing your fingers together.
"c'mon, sweetheart," you urge softly. "let's go home."
for you, jean happily concedes, letting you tug her out of the knights of favonius headquarters and into the evening sunset.

I’ve read your sagau zhongli/reader stuff and I love it, and I was wondering if you could write about an au where Ei is the one who recognizes the reader? Maybe she’s about to strike them down but she sees the golden blood or stops for another reason. I just want reader to be loved by her since she’s almost always depicted as an asshole along with zhongli in the SAGAU (and I have a crush on her xD). Maybe reader is scared of her and hesitant to return her affections because if insecurities (she can’t be a god, she’s nothing special, ei is pretending to like her to betray her, etc) and ei feels a lot of shame and assures reader that she truly loves them?? I hope this isn’t too much 😅

You had never really been exceptional. Or special. And you hadn't minded all that much. The life of a protagonist was not one designed to you and you happily lived the life of a background character, going about your life day to day.
However, you too, needed an escape from the dullness of reality. A getaway to a world of magic and wonder. A world where you were powerful - and respected. So - you began playing a game - something to fill in the dull blanks of your life.
On more than one occasion, you had wished to live in the world of Teyvat. A world so different from yours, where you could spend time with these exceptional and special people - and perhaps even be one yourself. Your own spot in the limelight - a main character with powers beyond comprehension.
Well. You had not expected it to play out in the way it did.
Waking up in Teyvat had been amazing. You were excited to explore it and make friendships, even if this was all a strange dream.
You had not expected to become the antagonist of the game you so adored.
And you were very much beginning to fear this was no dream.
As you laid before the Shogun - the electro Archon herself - with her polearm aimed at your bruised and beaten figure, you hoped you would find escape, at last.
You were willing to reclaim the monotony of your life. Anything would be better than being hunted down wherever you set foot - vicious words hurled at you, followed by attempts on your life.
You had hoped Inazuma was different. You had hoped to find solace in your favorite nation of the game - at least some mercy from your favorite character.
But you found none.
And now, you were too tired to keep on fighting.
Your body ached - a testament to the beatings you'd received, the rough attacks upon your body. You could still almost feel the electricity coursing through your body, dancing through your nerves painfully.
So you laid back and closed your eyes - awaiting the final blow to end your misery.
It did not come.
You opened your eyes as you heard something clatter upon the cold, stone floor below you.
Before you stood the ever proud Shogun - her harsh expression having melted into one of shock - fear, almost. Her arms dangled beside her as she stared at you, eyes wide and lip trembling.
She was next to clatter onto the floor, landing on her hands and knees as she kept her gaze upon you - looking frantic. Looking animalistic.
You glanced down at your body, to see what could possibly bring forth such a sudden change in demeanor.
You were almost as shocked as she was.
A golden glow was surrounding you in a protective shield, encasing you within it's warm haze. Your cracked lips parted as you stared at it in confusion.
Was this from you?
"Your Grace! I am so sorry!" Ei exclaimed, clasping her hands together as tears welled up in her large, violet eyes. Her voice was strained, as she was trying to hold together any little piece of her that threatened to crack.
"What...?" was all you could manage to whisper, before she surged forward.
You whimpered and were quick to scramble back - distancing yourself.
Her crestfallen expression on her face almost made you reconsider.
But you could not trust her not to hurt you.
"Please...I didn't realize it was truly you, your Grace," she explained desperately, running a hand through her hair - managing to rough up the perfection of it - strands falling loose from her braid.
Her hand reached out - and you flinched.
She allowed her hand to hover for a moment, shaking, before allowing it to fall, lowering her head in shame.
"I'll call for the best doctors. I promise I'll take care of you now. I won't ever hurt you again."
You were too scared to move as she stood up - lest she cast her fury upon you once more.
Too dazed to react as she called forth servants - too shaken to hear the words exchanged.
You did, however, react when a woman in lovely, yet simple robes reached out for you.
You were quick to back away, your arms raised before you defensively.
"Get away from me!"
"Your Grace..." concern, maybe even anguish, seeped from her words like sap from a tree.
"I won't lay a finger on you. But I'd like to lead you to your room, if you'd like." Her voice was soft, maternal.
Finally, you managed a shaky nod.
She smiled weakly.
Quietly, you followed her. You were left limping, your injuries having left quite a mark on you - yet you refused to accept any offers of assistance. Your gaze was flickering between the woman in front of you and the two looming and armed guards behind you. As you fidgeted your hands, your mind began to wonder.
Would you be locked up to be publicly executed later?
You couldn't help but jump at any sudden movements, ready to run even on your injured legs. Anything to get away.
That didn't seem to be necessary, however.
If this was a prison cell, it was a very luxurious one, for certain.
Your gaze skimmed over the large, plush bed in the centre of one of the walls. The wooden frame was dark and clearly lacquered. Even from the doorway, you could see some intricate carvings upon it. The bedding was a deep violet, with intricate golden thread used for embroidered details. The rest of the room was just as lavish, if not a little void of personality. It was spacious and had a door leading into another room.
"You will find the bathroom behind that door, your Grace," the soft-spoken woman excplained. You simply nodded slowly.
"There are some clothes in the dresser, should you wish to change. And if you need anything - ring the bell beside your bed. We will arrive at a moment's notice and provide anything you wish. "
You slowly entered the room, peeking around - weary of any hidden attackers. Once you were sure there were none, you turned to speak to the woman, but she had already disappeared - leaving the door closed.
With a sigh, you decided you might as well look clean for your upcoming execution.
You scrubbed yourself clean and allowed yourself to slip into the lest extravagant robes in the wardrobe. After some time had passed - a few hours, you were certain - an elderly woman entered your room to treat your injuries.
It was all suspiciously nice.
And you knew for certain that people were never nice without ulterior motives. It rung true in the real world - and you had come to find it did in Teyvat as well.
"Your Grace?" a delicate voice gently awoke you from your slumber. You groaned, tossing around on your plush bed - refusing to open your eyes.
Fine more minutes...
"Your Grace, breakfast is ready."
You finally opened your eyes, hissing as a sudden brightness pouring in from the large windows beside you blinded you momentarily. You rubbed your eyes and glanced around for the source of the voice.
Before your bed stood a well-dressed woman in a silky dress, her hair pinned up in a simple, yet professional updo.
Your brows furrowed.
"I've come to assist you in getting dressed - and then guide you to the dining room, your Grace."
Your eyes widened.
"I absolutely do not need help getting dressed." you insisted, scrambling backwards.
The lady sighed.
"Very well. I've laid out a few options for you on the dresser. Please join me outside your room once you are ready, in that case."
She turned and left, closing the door gently on her way out.
You stared at the clothes set out for you.
Right. The Shogun's palace.
You shuddered at your memories of the previous day.
This was much too sudden of a shift in behavior to be considered normal, right?
Hesitantly, you looked through your options, before finally shrugging on one of the robes set out for you, along with comfortable shoes to match.
It was a little unnerving that they were both your exact size - but then again, so was everything else about your current situation.
The dining room, or rather hall was spacious - a high ceiling with marble flooring, polished to the point of almost becoming mirrors. In the middle of the room, stood a long table, covered with picturesque delicacies.
You gulped when you noticed Ei, stood by the table.
Her gaze snapped up to meet yours when you entered, and she was quick to bow before you.
"Your Grace," she greeted you, her voice shaky.
"I hope you slept well?"
You felt panic crawling at your insides, itching to be released.
"I...please don't call me that- it's not funny..." you mumbled, lowering your gaze.
You missed the way her expression fell - watching your uneasy form with a heavy guilt crushing down upon her.
"But your Grace-" she attempted, before you cut her off.
"Stop! Please!" your gaze met hers, your vision beginning to blur from the tears welling in the corners of your eyes. You forced yourself to not blink - in an attempt to keep the bitter droplets from rolling across your face.
The air was heavy with tension, and a tingling that reminded you of electricity. A feeling of static.
As you watched the Shogun's unreadable expression, you remembered how unpredictable lightning could be.
"I...I'm sorry. Please don't hurt me," you whispered, taking a step backwards.
She rushed forward.
"No, I would never dare to hurt you again, your Grace! I simply wanted to invite you to breakfast - I wasn't sure what you'd like best - so I had everything made, just in case." Her lips carried a desperate smile, her eyes scanning every twitch of your face in anticipation.
She almost seemed earnest in her desperation to please you.
But that earnestness had almost ended your life just as eagerly. There was no way to trust her.
Still, you decided going along with her wishes might be in your best interest.
"...Thank you." You spoke softly, hesitantly nearing the table.
She was quick to pull out a chair for you and slide it back under the table as you took your seat.
"What would you like to drink, your Grace?" she asked, reaching for the cup by your empty plate.
"Water? Tea? Coffee?"
You tensed.
"Just water, please."
She nodded and hurried to pick up the glass jug holding a clear liquid, carefully pouring it into your cup before setting it down on the table before you.
Your plate was covered with an array of samples from different dishes - all cut into neat squares by the Shogun herself. You had yet to touch any of them, however. Even if unlikely, you couldn't shake the paranoia of poison being hidden within your food.
Ei seemed to sense your hesitance.
And she had a feeling she knew the source of it.
"Your Grace..." she spoke gently, catching your attention and reeling it from your plate.
"Would you like me to sample your food for you before you eat?" she questioned, staring at you with earnest, wide eyes.
"If you want to..."
She nodded and gently scooped a bite from your plate, placing it in her mouth and eating it.
Nothing happened.
It eased your fears somewhat, and finally, you began eating, slowly and hesitantly, but eating nonetheless.
Ei's heart soared. You seemed hungry.
Your first few days in the company of Ei were...peaceful, somewhat. Yes, you were weary of everything and everyone, but thankfully, you were provided space. It was nice to feel full for the first time in eons, and to get rest on a soft surface, even if nightmares did plague your dreams.
What kept you on edge, however, was Ei's behavior.
She was. So gentle.
"Your Grace! You look lovely this morning!"
"Your Grace - would you like to join me on a walk?"
"Your Grace, you have the most radiant eyes."
It wasn't malicious but it was strange. How could she go so easily from wanting to snuff out your life, to adoring and praising anything you said or did?
And besides - having everyone around you act as though you were a heavenly creature felt strange.
Because, you knew for a fact that you were not.
And you were just waiting for everyone to realize.
To turn on you once more.
The breeze was warm and gentle in the garden. Rosy Sakura petals floated past you - a faint floral essence spread around by the tame winds. You were sat under a large tree - casting a shadow over you and shielding you from the sun as you allowed your mind to wander.
You barely paid mind to the quiet steps approaching you - only looking up once you were addressed.
"You Grace, what's on your mind?" Ei asked, her voice soft and low as she crouched to sit on the soft grass beside you - not minding a bit that it might stain her flawless pastel robes.
You bit your lip, averting your gaze.
There was that title once more.
One you did not deserve.
"Nothing much," was all you said, your words strained as you focused on a singular blade of grass - swaying in the wind, scuffed from having been trampled, but refusing to go down.
"I understand that you might not feel comfortable sharing your thoughts with me," Ei sighed, looking off into the distance. Despite it's warmth, the breeze caressing her cheeks felt cold.
A heavy silence hung above the two of you - you focusing on your fighter of a blade of grass, as Ei seemed to busy herself with something.
You refused to look at her, lest she realized you were not who she had hoped you were - lest she cast her fury upon you once more, blazing and untamed.
"Your Grace?"
Ei spoke once more after some time had passed. You allowed yourself to glance at her from the corner of you eye.
She looked beautiful, her hair swaying softly in the whisp of wind, her long lashes casting a flattering shadow under her eyes.
Her violet eyes met yours - deep and knowing as they bore into your soul.
Gently, she reached out.
You held your breath.
She placed a flower crown upon your head delicately, her touch feather-light as though you'd break if she applied even the slightest bit of pressure.
She feared, truly, that you would.
Your lips parted, but no words escaped your mouth.
"I hope you don't mind, your Grace," she smiled meekly. "I thought it'd suit you."
You took in a shallow breath.
"Oh...thank you, Ei," your words were unsteady - carefully picked and polished before you allowed them to slip past your lips.
She cast her gaze down in shame.
"I apologize, for making you uncomfortable, your Grace."
You stiffened.
"No, Ei, you don't-"
She shook her head, a bittersweet smile upon her lips.
"I see the way you tense and flinch in my presence. And I know I deserve that. And much more, to be honest. I hurt you, your Grace." Her delicate hand gripped at the edge of her sleeve as she spoke, attempting to soothe the tremors overtaking it.
She had never once wavered in anything after her sister's death, before you came along.
"I...I think you were right to do so," you mumbled, hesitantly reaching for the crown upon your head and removing it. You placed it on your lap, gently caressing the flowers braided into it.
"Your Grace?" her gaze snapped up to meet yours, her eyes frantic.
"I am not this...god, or whatever you think I am."
Ei's brows furrowed.
"I am not trying to claim to be who I am not." Your voice was becoming steadier, as your heart clenched. Perhaps you could get off with a lighter punishment if you spoke your mind.
"Back in my world...I was nothing special. Ever. And that was mostly fine by me," you refused to meet Ei's eyes, fearing the reaction you'd find sparking to life within them.
"And that can't change just like that. I am not destined to be anything more than I was then. I am just...me. Just (Name)."
The silence was nauseating.
"Have I....have I truly wounded you so deep that you would think so lowly of yourself?"
Ei's voice was quiet, barely above a whisper, her words strained and cracking as she managed to utter them, a great deal of pain resurfacing within her chest as she managed to word the thoughts that had been haunting her mind since she almost killed you.
"What? Ei?" you finally looked at her.
Her stony façade was beginning to crumble, her own doubts seeping through them as she fell apart before you.
"I...you are special. And always have been - even if you think you never were."
"But-"
"You guided me through many adventures, did you not? When you resided in your own world?"
You bit your lip.
"In a game, yes. But so did millions of others."
She shook her head, a sad smile overtaking her features once more.
"I only ever felt you."
You were silent for a moment.
"I understand you being weary of me. As I said - I deserve as much. But you are and always will be special to me. Special to all in Teyvat."
She gently rose to her feet.
"I hope one day, you will come to believe me."
With a sad glance, she turned to leave.
Now, you too, could feel the underlying cold of the wind biting at your skin.
Before you could stop yourself - you had rushed to your feet - your arm stretching out in front of you.
You caught the Archon by her sleeve, halting her in her tracks.
She turned to face you, eyes wide with surprise.
"Ei...I..." your cheeks heated up as you struggled to find the words to say.
"Thank you, for your words."
Her expression melted into a fond smile.
"I meant every one of them," she delicately spoke, gently brushing her thumb across your cheek.
"I'm not sure I'm worthy of them."
She sighed softly, delicately tracing the side of your face.
"But you are, Your Grace." She spoke with utter conviction.
Your eyes flickered between her face and her soft hand caressing your face.
You wanted desperately to lean into the touches, to allow yourself to melt at her words. But could you really trust her to be honest with her intentions?
She seemed to notice the doubt on your face, and slowly removed her hand.
"I know you do not fully believe me, Your Grace, but I would give anything, do anything to be worthy of your trust one day. I cannot even begin to describe my feelings for you."
You swallowed.
"Ei...I want to trust you..." you paused, feeling the way your heart thudded against your ribcage - threatening to break free.
"I've been hurt a lot while here."
Ei lowered her gaze, nodding solemnly.
"But I'm willing to give you a second chance."
Her eyes darted back to meet yours, her lips parting slightly in shock.
Without thinking, she leaned forward, and pressed her soft lips against your cheek.
"That's all I could ask for. And more than I could ever deserve, Your Grace."
The genuine joy on her face seeped its way into your heart.
Perhaps, you weren't special, back in your own world.
But the way Ei's loving eyes studied you, as though you were the only sight worth seeing in all the world, eased some of your insecurities and worries.
Perhaps, you were special. To Ei, if nothing else, at the very least.

Hu Tao
— It was a day like any other. You were strolling throughout Liyue until you heard very loud stepping behind you and felt a tight embrace from behind. A familiar laugh told you who it was. Hu Tao. You turned to face her, and she expressed that she was faced with a dilemma.
— You thought it was serious, but Hu Tao quickly cleared up that it was a dare, or sort of bet that she had made. A silly little game led Xingqiu to bet that Hu Tao couldn’t find a date to their mutual friend Xinyan’s next concert. She came to you begging for help, stating that she at least wanted to take someone that she’d have fun with, and that it’d be one night— just to win the bet. You agreed, after all, you loved to help her, even if it was with a silly bet.
— With that, at Xinyan’s next concert, you met up with Xingqiu who was with Chongyun, hand in hand with Hu Tao. After a few deadpan stares and agape mouths, Xingqiu accepted his defeat before giving you a proper greeting and congratulating Hu Tao on her victory and on getting a partner. Hu Tao was ecstatic to say the least, and hugged you tightly to celebrate your victory. She thanked you, but you responded that you didn’t mind and you liked hanging out with her.
— You had to keep up the act for a while to keep Xingqiu from getting suspicious. That meant hanging out around the city, whether the hydro user was with you or not. Many fake dates led to making many fun memories with Hu Tao. You both were convinced that you’d done a good job faking a relationship when Zhongli, one of Hu Tao’s employees, had congratulated you both on your relationship. Hu Tao knew that the bet was long won and everyone was thoroughly convinced, but for some reason, the thought of ending everything left a bitter taste in her mouth.
— You both decided to have your final fake date at the Lantern Rite festival. You and Hu Tao walked with hands intertwined as you played a few games at the stalls and snacked on some festival food. Hu Tao felt her focus was more on you and your presence rather than the festivities, though. She couldn’t help but feel upset that today was your last fake date before you ended it all. She didn’t want that, she wanted to keep accompanying you around Liyue and wanted to keep spending time like this with you.
— Eventually, you both got a Xiao Lantern each and went out to the docks together to write your wishes and release them. In the faint glow of the lantern light, she watched your faint smile as you wrote your wish, and felt her heart beat quicken at the warm gaze you gave her. She quickly wrote her wish before you both released your lanterns together.
— Her wish? Simple. Hu Tao hopes that one day you return her love, and that you’d one day want a real companionship with her just like she wanted with you.
Ganyu
— Ganyu approaches you one day asking for assistance regarding Cloud Retainer, her caretaker. She explains that her Adeptus guardian was insisting that she get a partner of some sort considering that Ganyu had quite a few suitors, and she could use someone to help take care of her. Upon hearing this, you suggested that you two fake being a couple in order to satisfy the wants of the Adeptus and to keep her off her back.
— Ganyu thinks it’s a lovely idea and agrees, so you two head up to the mountains and you meet Cloud Retainer, introduced as Ganyu’s romantic partner. Cloud Retainer adores you, and after embarrassing Ganyu a bit, she explains that she believes you to be a perfect fit for her, and that she’s very happy that someone like you would be watching over Ganyu as a companion.
— After the meeting, Ganyu apologizes, saying that you’ll have to keep up the act for a little while to allow time for Cloud Retainer to finish fawning, but you don’t mind and insist that Ganyu has no reason to apologize. It was your idea and you had full intent to follow through with it if it meant helping her out. You also got to spend more time with her despite her busy schedule, and to you, that she was always a plus.
— You had dinner with Cloud Retainer just about every week following the announcement of your fake relationship to her, and it became a pleasant part of your schedule. However, as time went on and Ganyu spent more time with you, she began to realize how amazing of a person you were.
— You were busy, but despite that, you always made time for Ganyu. You were incredibly patient and respectful with her, and always treated Cloud Retainer with the upmost kindness. Ganyu began to notice you also going out of your way to care for her in your own ways— making sure she was well rested, cooking her meals, and checking in when the affairs of the Qixing kept her particularly busy. It made her feel warm and happy, and reminding herself that the relationship wasn’t real made her feel strangely upset.
— She’d explained the situation to Madame Ping, and expressed her feelings as well as her confusion regarding it, but after a few words of wisdom and her own pondering, Ganyu realized what it was. The fuzziness when she was around you— adoring your every word and action— the effect that your smile had on her mood; she finally had an explanation.
— She was in love with you, and she wanted so badly to be in a real relationship with you.
Ayaka
— Ayaka was the daughter of the Kamisato clan. She was always under a microscope in the public eye, so every move she made was heavily scrutinized by everyone, and she had to be smart as to not tarnish her family name. When questions of a relationship became the hot topic on everyone’s mind, her brother, Ayato, suggested that she begin a fake relationship in hopes that people would stop trying to find her potential suitors.
— Ayaka sought you out for support since not only were you her closest friend, but you were well loved by the Inazuman public, so you’d be the perfect choice to be her fake lover. You agreed happily. Anything that’d take some stress off of Ayaka was welcomed in your eyes. So with that, you began fake dating.
— You both didn’t attempt anything flashy. You just visited shops around town together, had frequent dinners together and even attended festivals alongside one another. The talk of potential suitors quickly died down, and many people had stopped you both saying that you were the perfect match, and that they were glad that Ayaka had found someone as pleasant as you. Even so, you both kept the fake relationship up for show. You both felt that if you stopped even for a moment, people would be back to pestering her.
— One of your fake dates included attending the fireworks show together. You had both gotten special fireworks made by Yoimiya, and once night had fallen, you both found a secluded area outside of Konda Village. You both set off your fireworks and sat together, Ayaka leaned against you as you watched the colors bloom in the air.
— Your firework consisted of an icy blue with touches of pink. You asked Yoimiya for a firework made in Ayaka’s image. When she saw it, she thought it was perfect. She kept her eyes on you for the rest of the show despite the beautiful colors bursting in the air. The smile on your face as you watched the colors flash, the firework you had made for her— all of it gave her an indescribable feeling of happiness. It was a feeling she’d never felt before, but she couldn’t help it with how amazing you were and how kindly you treated her.
— The next day, she approached Ayato and asked him what he’d thought if you two had began a genuine relationship— because she was falling for you fast and she was unsure how much longer she could fake it.
Yanfei
— Yanfei was investigating a legal case regarding some shady business going on between a few parties in Liyue. In order to further investigate, she needed access to a banquet that one of the parties was hosting in order to question a few people that’d be attending. If she went alone, she knew the suspicions she’d arise, so she sought out a date.
— She chose you as you were not only incredibly capable as an investigator and fighter, but if she was going to fake date anyone, it’d have to be someone she’d have fun with. You were someone who always listened to her rambles about legality, yet showed interest and asked questions— something most people didn’t do. When she explained her reasoning, you agreed. Especially since it meant shutting down potential illegal activity.
— With that, you and Yanfei dressed in your best formal attire and were allowed into the banquet. Yanfei tried her best to keep her legal investigation at the forefront of her mind, but the moment she saw you— her breath was taken away. You looked amazing— elegant. You offered your arm to her and she happily took it as she walked in alongside you. You mingled a bit with the other attendees, and the way you smiled and laughed along with the other guests clouded her mind.
— When you separated so she could investigate, you kept the host busy to keep them from figuring out what Yanfei was doing. As she questioned people privately and grabbed the documents and evidence she needed, she still thought of you. Her eyes glanced over to you every so often. You caught her gaze and sent a gentle smile and she felt her face heat up. She quickly finished gathering what she needed and hiding it away in her bag before quickly returning to your side.
— As the banquet continued, you two chose to dance as she whispered her findings to you quietly. The closeness made her heart flutter and she only hoped that you weren’t able to hear it. She didn’t want the night to end— even if the date was a cover, she wanted to keep spending time like this with you. As the night came to a close, she felt an oncoming dread at having to end the facade— no more hand holding, embraces, or intimate closeness.
— Once you parted ways, she realized that she was falling for you, noticing things that she had neglected in your close friendship. Your gentleness, warmth, ambition, kindness— she was only now realizing how much she adored you, and how much she wanted you to be her partner in investigation and her partner in life.
Ei
— Ei had many people who attended to her needs. As an Archon, this was normal for her. However, her favorite moments were when she could leave to the Grand Narukami Shrine and spend time with Yae Miko without her attendants constantly worrying over her during every waking hour of the day. She understood why— she’d been in her Plane of Euthemiya for as long as she could remember and just returned. They all just wanted to make sure she was okay.
— Miko suggested that she begin a fake relationship. Ei was confused at first, but soon the Envoy gave an explanation. If she was in a fake relationship, then all of her attendants wouldn’t have to worry as much since she’d have a “lover” to take care of her, who’d probably understand her better as well. Ei immediately decided that this was the best decision so she could retain a sense of independence. Miko immediately suggested you. You were a friend of hers, and she figured that Ei would get along well with you since you were caring, but not overbearing.
— Ei agreed, and you both met for the first time at the Shrine in Miko’s presence. Ei was unsure, but after a long day spent under the trees, conversing and getting comfortable with one another, she was sure that you’d make a great fit. Ei was also comfortable enough to begin faking a relationship with you in a convincing way. With that, you both walked out, your hand intertwined with hers. The walk back to her temple got many interested glances, but mostly people being glad that their beloved archon had met someone special.
— When you arrived back at the temple with her, her attendants immediately left her alone upon seeing you. They figured they needn’t bother you both, and finally, Ei was given the room to breathe that she had so desperately needed. You were glad to see the relief in her expression. With that, your fake relationship was in full swing.
— It went on for a long while. Ei would come back after dealing with what she needed to, and you’d be there— cooking her favorite meals and sweets. You’d clean where you could, and even invited Miko over when you could tell that Ei had a particularly stressful day. You still kept up with your own work, but found time to make her life easier as well, and Ei adored you for it.
— After a while, she became used to you being there and became used to being in your care. She’d lay her head in your lap and you’d run your fingers through her hair to help her destress then you’d make her a few sweets to lift her mood. It was a routine she loved and it made her life much more enjoyable, however when reminded by Miko that the relationship was fake, she felt a deep seeded feeling of upset. She couldn’t understand why, but then realized what it was. She saw you in a different light. Noticed the gentle care you had with helping her and caring for her. She noticed how hard you worked on your own affairs, and how strong you were to the people of her nation, yet how warm and soft you were with her. She loved everything about you.
— She expressed as much to Miko, and told her that she wasn’t sure she could do well with you leaving. She was falling in love with you and she didn’t want your relationship to be a cover anymore. She wanted to truly be yours.
Yoimiya
— Yoimiya was a large helper to the Resistance, and that meant often harboring fugitives, or helping deliver fake visions to bearers around the nation. In one particularly large delivery, she had to go to a summer festival to hand deliver many fake visions to bearers, and the festival was the most discreet place to do so since most people could use the cover of being there for fun. In order to truly seem like she was only at the festival for fun, she took you along as her fake date.
— You went along since you were good friends with Yoimiya and because you worked hard for the Resistance’s cause. You wanted to protect the vision bearers just as much as she did.
— You both spent the festival discreetly delivering fake visions, as well as playing up your date by playing a few games together and eating together. It had worked rather well considering that the guards there never bat you an eye. Once all the deliveries were made, you walked with your hand in hers as you chatted a bit, however, you heard a guard behind you approach you with a group of guards, demanding that Yoimiya hand over her vision from where it dangled on her waist.
— She panicked, unsure of what to do. You quickly gripped her soldiers and turned her away from the guards to face you. You muttered a quiet trust me before slipping your arm around her waist. You handed the guards the pyro vision and they walked off. Yoimiya gave you a scared look before you released her real vision from your sleeve and handed it back to her. She gave a bright smile and hugged you tightly. Your quick thinking, preparation and a sleight of hand had saved her from becoming a dread filled visionless bearer.
— She felt her heart flutter as she thought back to it for the rest of the festival. The way your arm gripped her waist protectively, the way you took such a risk to protect her— even how you spent the majority of the festival keeping her out of any guard’s view— all to keep her safe. She then realized that her feelings for you were fast passing those of mere friendship.
— She wanted to protect you just as much as you had protected her. She wanted to always be by your side, and always have you there to lean on and trust when she was in danger. She wanted your love and your affection beyond some fake date— she wanted the genuine partnership.
