Long story short, I'm moving to @glazesunflower ! Follow that blog if you're interested in my content <3
I will be answering some questions now, so everything's clear :)
Will you continue posting on this blog? Nope, all my old and new works will be posted on the new blog. I will stop posting things here after this announcement.
Why are you changing blogs? This blog is a secondary account, which means there's a lot I can't do, like replying to your comments, having notifications on or having DMs, so I'd like to start from scratch properly this time!
What happens with the requests you guys asked for? The ones that are already written are queued in the new blog to be posted! The ones that aren't written yet are listed on the things that I'm currently writing post and will be posted in the new blog when I'm done with them!
Will you delete this blog? I'll wait a couple of days to make sure everyone who follows this blog and is interested hears of this announcement, and then yes, I'll delete this blog.
What happens with the posts on this account? All of them will be reposted on my new account! They won’t be deleted or lost forever, so don’t worry, you can read them again over there if you’d like!
I think that's all. Feel free to ask questions if you'd like!

I had to come into the box for a moment and thank you sincerely for all the writing you do! 🙏 I smile and immediately read the posts when I see them on my dashboard. Thank you so much for making my days happier! 💞
You’re the kindest, thank you! ☺️
I know writing is all about having fun while you do it, and I do have fun writing my own posts and your requests, but there’s something so utterly fulfilling when you hear that something that you made, actually made someone happy for a short while! 💛
What you said right now, for example, made me very happy just now and I’ll keep on thinking about it for days to come!
So thank you for being kind and making me happy too, friend! ☺️
Hii! I was currently scrolling and I saw someone who has exactly the same description, the same « fics »… I wanted to be sure if it was a second account you had or it is a fake???

hi hi!! happy late birthday!! can i request ei and shenhe soft hcs? have a lovely day and i hope all ur wishes come true this year🥺💜
Soft Headcanons
Characters: Shenhe and Ei (separate)
Warnings: None! Just tooth-rotting fluff <3
Notes: Thank you! That's most kind of you to say, I hope you have a wonderful year as well <3 And I hope you enjoy these! Thank you for the request, friend :)
She never thought she’d be in a relationship. Not because she doesn’t know what love is, but because she never thought she’d be on the receiving end of such affections. Ei knows herself to be a fighter. She’s all hard edges and unhealed wounds, up until you came into her life.
You make her want to be better, actively try to improve for the better. You make her want to voice her emotions more, something she’s had trouble doing in the past. She used to see emotions as nothing more than burdens when it came to war, all she’s ever known. But with you, everything is softer. She doesn’t think of war, she thinks of pink skies and music in the streets and of building a Inazuma you can relish, one you can enjoy together.
She’s not too open with her affections for you, not at the beginning. She grows bashful when your words are too flowery, when your face is too close, when your hands are on her. But she cherishes the closeness, the comfort, the familiarity you’ve grown to give her.
As time goes on, she will slowly start to reach out to you more. Her hand brushing yours as you walk, a silent invitation for you to hold her; her head softly landing on your shoulder when you rest under a sakura tree, her forehead brushing your neck as a silent request to cup her cheek, place your lips on hers. Ei feels butterflies in the pitch of her stomach every time.
She likes to give you things, mementos of your time together. Sometimes she’ll have craftsmen do the work for her, and then she’ll come to you with precious gifts born from her gifted mind. Other times, she’ll craft them herself, even if clumsily. A bookmark made of sakura petals, suspiciously well-baked cookies, that you suspect a certain fox had to intervene with, and so on. Ei just loves watching your eyes light up, your lips blooming into a perfectly bright smile, for her eyes only.
Ei enjoys sleeping with you. It’s not as if she needs the rest. As the Archon of Eternity, Ei certainly doesn’t need to sleep, per se. But she deeply enjoys lying next to you, relishing in the way your eyelashes flutter closed, how your chest rises and falls with each breath you take, the peaceful expression on your soft features. She has never wanted eternity more than when she lays in your arms.
Shenhe has close to zero experience when it comes to love. All the more so with romantic love. Having been raised by adeptus, rigidly detached from the mortal world, all she has to rely on are the romance novels she’s found in the Liyue public library. Thus, Shenhe trustfully relies on you to guide her through the newfound emotions that course through her chest.
She’s not used to feeling so much, least of all when the emotions that bloom in her chest in your presence are the furthest thing from violent ones, which is all she’s ever known. She wants to hold your cheeks in her hands, trace the delicate skin free from scars, so foreign to her, so warm.
Shenhe is often vocal with her thoughts, often coming off as blunt, even. But it’s part of her charm, one that you’ve grown to absolutely adore.
So when she comes to you, I want your hands on me at all times. Without you near, I feel empty. What is this strange emotion?, her winter eyes full of affection, you throw your head back laughing, brushing her fingers with yours and tugging her closer, It’s called love.
She’s not too vocal about her affections for you. How can she, when all she’s ever known is war and bloodshed? She has little words of affection sitting at the back of her head, but she found her own way to show you how much she cherishes you being with her. Shenhe insists on helping you even when you don’t need it. She’s always around, ready to pick something up for you, to fight the monsters in your path, to carry you in her strong arms so you don’t grow tired on long journeys. She’s very protective of you, her winter eyes always sitting on yours with a peaceful expression on them, gentle around the corners.
Shenhe has a light sleep often plagued with nightmares. She used to insist on wearing her red ropes to sleep to prevent from seeing monsters behind her closed eyelids. But now, the panic from those vivid dreams is a short-lived one. It was just a bad dream, my love. You’re okay, Shenhe lets you guide her to your embrace, her head softly landing on your chest. With her winter eyes closed, your hands on her hair and her ear to your chest, Shenhe would swear she can hear the sound of flowers blooming under your skin. She falls asleep lulled by the hum of your voice in the dark, and she feels safe in your arms.

Hello Author, I hope you are doing alright. Just checking in to make sure you are going at your own pace and to always have fun when writing 👍
Hello, friend!
It's most kind of you to check up on me, thank you very much! <3
I happen to be sick right now :( I was supposed to go out last night but turns out I had a fever. Oh, well. I'm staying home, taking care and taking pills, so I'm sure I'll be alright by monday!
I've paused writing the requests for that reason, but thankfully I still have a couple of them on the queue, so the content keeps coming :)
I will be making an announcement soon though, because I'm switching blogs! I'll explain the details in another post, stay tuned if you'd like <3
I hope you're alright as well, my friend, and that you're having a lovely day over there :)!
I will find and bite any dumb hater who comes at you, bestie >:) This is a warning for everyone, don’t you beef with her for stupid reasons like not writing from male he/his pronounce pov. Try writing smth you are not familiar with, maybe after that you can consider how hard it is before you go and attack someone. She puts so much effort into her prompts to have fun and spread the feelings she puts into her works for people to enjoy. You don’t deserve to receive a masterpiece writing of her creation with attitude like that. This is a sacred place of her writing talent, and if her kind comebacks won’t work, I will bite 👿 I am not as nice as her~
Thank you for the support as always <3 You see me in such a positive light, if you keep this up it'll surely go straight to my head!
I would advice you not to go biting people out there though! We don't want you getting any rabies. Be sure to take care yourself as well, and thank you for being protective as always :)
Could you make a three chapters where its the reader and their S/O reacts to seeing the Knights/Millileth/Shogunate arrive at the front door to annouce that the reader died in some form or another?
First being the Mondstadt girls:
Jean
Amber
Eula
Second being the Liyue girls:
Hu Tao
Ganyu
Keqing
Ningguang
Third being the Inazuma girls:
Ayaka
Yoimiya
Kuki
EI
Yae
And to add on to this, could the chapters be the ones where the characters speak and not the ones where it is like "Ayaka would be ___", "Ganyu would be ___"?
I just really want to have this angst and want to see what you'll do with it!
Hello again, friend! :)
This prompt is quite fun, we do love the angst here! Unfortunately, I think this might go beyond the usual requests I take :(
I usually write requests including 3 characters tops. Not for any personal reasons, it's so that all the drabbles are more or less equivalent and everyone gets to have their request written by me. I can't go spending too much time in one request and lacking in the others, that wouldn't be fair. And it's quite tiring writing the same prompt for 12 characters, considering you specified you didn't want headcanons but actual dialogue, and that takes more effort.
You're free to choose 3 of these characters and I'll write the drabbles, no problem :) Or you can make several requests, if you're keen on these 12 characters and you're willing to wait!
Thank you for taking an interest to my writing! I hope this was understandable to you, friend <3
“Can’t believe that if you support being woke and are uncomfortable writing a male reader in your stories.” Er, it’s literally her blog? Who are you to talk?
You’ve just spent a day too long scrolling through Tumblr pal, I think it’s time for you to turn off the app, and instead of sending hurtful anonymous asks, you touch some grass.
I am sorry that happened to you comrade, but just know that we all have your back.
💍 anon
That's quite alright, dear 💍 friend!
Some people get too in their heads when it comes to the internet, but I'm just happy to see that, despite that, this community is still full of kind-hearted and good people <3
A cancer sun! I myself am an Aries sun, and even though I don’t believe in astrology much, it says that most Aries suns are assertive and persistent, which is funny to me as I am awfully stubborn.
I’m also a Sagittarius moon, and ascendant in Gemini. If I may ask, what is your moon sign? I’d love to know more, comrade!
💍 anon
I absolutely love Aries and Sagittarius, they've always been kind to me and, especially, really fun to be around! That's a good chart you have <3
I'm a Cancer Sun, a Capricorn Moon (that's what keeps my mental stability together) and a Scorpio Rising (for which I apologize) ^^
Hey may I please request the "Taking away their cuddling privileges after a fight" prompt buy with HuTao this time? THANK YOU SO MUCH
Taking Away Their Cuddling Privileges After A Bad Fight (Pt. 2)
Character: Hu Tao x Reader.
Warnings: Reader is GN. Hurt/comfort!
Notes: Thank you for the request! Writing for Hu Tao is always a pleasure, she's my favorite chaotic girl. I hope you enjoy this !!
Part one, in case you're interested, is in (this link!).
Hu Tao would be relentless.
She would simply not accept you taking away her cuddles. She refuses.
The fight started as something silly, it usually does with Hu Tao. It’s no secret how much she likes to pull pranks, all the more so when it comes to you, for some reason you can’t explain.
If you asked Hu Tao, she would probably giggle, You’re just so fun to tease!
But what she wouldn’t tell you is that she knows she can be herself around you. She’s used to tiring people out, of them playing with her and following along with her jokes and quick remarks until they eventually grow out of them, grow out of her. But with you, as much as Hu Tao was scared of that happening as you two got closer, you simply never grew tired of her.
You continued on laughing with her, following her along with her jokes, even helping her pull a prank or two, basking in the way Hu Tao always feels so full of joy, her laugh bursting fireworks in the pitch of your stomach every time. No, you would tell her. I will never not find you delightful.
This time, however, Hu Tao went too far.
She took a harmless prank and chose the worst possible time for it.
The idea was to give you a little fright, nothing too serious. She attached several small fake spiders to a thin string, taped the string just above the door jamb and then shut the door behind her. She fit the spiders into the small space between the top of the door and the door jamb and patiently waited for you to arrive.
Unfortunately enough, you had a job interview that day. The serious and elegant interviewer grew pale as a ghost from the Funeral Parlor when he opened the door, the spiders falling down and effectively jumping at him. He left the scene altogether, not before showering you with colorful words and an all too hostile voice that made your heart sink, knowing you blew the interview long before it even happened.
You turned to Hu Tao and she felt the weight of a meteor fall on her shoulders. She knew how much that job meant to you. She approached you, her crimson eyes wearing a mirror of apologies. You weren’t harsh with her, you weren’t mean. You simply told her how disappointed you were, and how you wanted to be left alone for a while.
That, of course, meant no cuddles for the time being.
But then again, Hu Tao has always been relentless. Most of all when it comes to you.
She respected your boundaries the first couple of days. She’s a very affectionate person, she always needs to be touching you somehow to feel herself close to you, but she respected your wishes nonetheless.
By the fourth day, Hu Tao was positively exhausted from waiting. She decided to take matters into her own hands. If you wouldn't give her cuddles, she’ll have to get them herself.
This started a back and force of her trying to surprise you into giving her affection, and you effectively avoiding her to the best of your abilities.
She would jump on you when you least expect it, wrapping her arms around your waist, Got you!, before you gently push her off of you.
She would purposefully make you trip so she could catch you in her arms, her lips drawing a cheeky smile, Falling for me, are you?, before you untangled her arms from around you.
She would wait until your hands are occupied to run to you and smother you with a tight hug, Cuddle time!, and you’d have to wiggle your way out of her embrace, frowning, No cuddles, I’m still upset with you!
You even went as far as to start sleeping on the couch for the following days, since Hu Tao would waste no time wrapping herself around any inch of your skin she could get her hands on, legs intertwined together; and you’d feel bad to push her off of you gently, but she’s a strong girl and you really need to sort out your angry emotions before you can allow your daily life to go on as normal with her.
But even when you’re sleeping on the couch, you’d wake up to find her face nestled in the crook of your neck, breathing softly in her sleep, making herself a small place next to you on the couch, always searching for more ways to be close to you.
It’s not until the seventh day when something changes.
You’re in the kitchen making dinner when you hear the front door opening. You brace yourself, waiting for Hu Tao to sprint to you, arms open like she does every night. You keep waiting, but her bear hug never comes. Instead, you hear her footsteps leading her to the living room. You leave the lettuce you were cutting on the counter and follow the sound. Hu Tao is sitting on the couch, her crimson eyes overflowing with exhaustion.
You lean on the doorframe. “Had a long day?”
She immediately turns to you, quickly changing her expression into a cheerful one, her lips tugging at the corners. “Just the usual. But my day is a hundred times better now that I’m with you, hee-hee!”
You’ve been with her long enough to recognize the crease between her eyebrows, the way her playful smile doesn’t reach her eyes. You walk up to her, finding a spot on the couch by her side and gently holding the side of her face with your fingers.
“We had a fight, but that doesn’t mean you can’t come to me when you’re feeling down.” You softly brush her cheekbone with the pad of your thumb, watch her crimson eyes glisten under your gaze. “You know that, right?”
Hu Tao shakes her head slowly, locks of brown hair framing her face, darkening her expression. “It’s nothing new, really. I shouldn’t listen to them, I know. But I can’t help it sometimes. I'm an idiot.”
You feel your heart shatter at the sight, Hu Tao’s eyes glistening with unshed tears as the hurtful words the people of Liyue often say about her echoing in the vault of her chest. You’ve heard the rumors, and you know Hu Tao has heard them, too. You only wish people could be more accepting and less judging, especially towards the person you love most in the entirety of the world.
“Come here.” You gently tug at her, finding a comfortable spot on the couch, and she lets you guide her towards you. Hu Tao’s body falls into yours like a puzzle piece, like it’s the one place in the world where it truly belongs. “You shouldn't listen to them, yes. They don’t know you, how fun and smart you are. And don’t say that again, only I get to call you my idiot.”
Hu Tao slowly wraps her arms around your middle, tightening her grip on you ever so softly. She hides her face in the crook of your neck, breathing in your scent. Her chest shudders with butterflies, “You said cuddles were banned.”
“I know what I said, but they’re allowed again.” You lose your fingers in her silky brown hair, softly massaging her scalp. You don’t miss the way Hu Tao sighs, melts into your touch, her warm breath tickling the skin on your neck. “I love you way more than I would’ve loved that job, you know?”
“You still love me?” Her voice comes out muffled by your skin, but you still make out every word, the uncharacteristically bashful ring to her voice.
“Until death do us part,” you whisper to her hair, and you’d swear you felt the way Hu Tao smiled against your skin.

Uff, I really hope it's okay to ask for the pregnancy thingy with lady Ningguang? Well the continuing of it, because the second part was getting too long? But if not it's alright too!!
Oh and Happy Birthday to ya♡ I know it's late but I was in vaca:3
How The Genshin Girls React With A Pregnant S/O (Pt. 3)
Character: Ningguang x Reader.
Warnings: Reader is GN. No gender or pronouns mentioned, except the fact that they’ve been pregnant.
Notes: Of course it's okay to ask! I didn't write it last time because it got too long, but I'm always happy to deliver more of these <3 And thank you! That's most kind of you, friend :) I hope you enjoy.
Part one, in case you're interested, is in (this link!).
Part two, in (this link!)
During the third trimester of your pregnancy, Ningguang will be extra careful around you. That doesn’t mean she’s overbearing though, she will just keep an eye on you at all times. Even at times when she’s busy, she’ll have someone around you to provide for everything you should need.
Of course, she would like to be the one to provide everything for you at any time of the day, but as the Tianquan of Liyue, Ningguang has responsibilities she can’t simply shrug off. Fortunately, she knows you’re perfectly capable of taking care of yourself. You’re her strong jewel, after all.
When your water breaks, Ningguang is immediately on the case.
It happened while you were both at the Jade Chamber. She did build a nursery room for you there. It’s far from professional, but it’s not as if anyone is bold or reckless enough to confront the Tianquan in any of her decisions, so you were happily installed there while Ningguang worked during the day.
She also enjoyed sneaking out of her work schedule and simply spending time with you in the quiet room. It’s not sneaking out per se, it’s just her well-deserved breaks now and then, but you know how she feels about not being productive all the time. So you let her lay her head on your chest, legs intertwined in the sofa, and you continue reading the book that’s in your hand. It’s a children's book, something about animals doing courageous things, but Ningguang flutters her eyes closed all the same, her mind relaxing to the soothing sound of your voice.
It’s when you stop the narration when she notices something’s off, and she’s immediately all over you.
She had already planned every step and action to ensure that the delivery goes smoothly, of course. Her three secretaries are already well-aware of the plan as well, so everything starts in motion when she says the word. Ningguang has the best doctor in Liyue ready at your disposal. The nursery room quickly becomes a lively place with all the nurses as well.
She gives orders to everyone with a stern expression, ensuring everything goes according to plan; but she never leaves your side for a second, her hand tightly grasped in yours for support.
The labor doesn’t take too long, and Ningguang holds your hand through it all, whispering sweet words of encouragement to you. You’re doing really well, her velvety voice soothes your raging heart and pushes you to try harder. Just like that. You’re doing a very good job, darling.
Ever the calm and collected businesswoman, Ningguang is at a loss for words when the doctor finally places the baby in her arms. It’s small, with delicate rosy skin, and Ningguang would swear that she’s never held anything this precious in her entire life.
“Meet our daughter.” Ningguang leans over to you, delicately placing the baby on your chest. She brushes the tears from your cheeks with her thumb, her crimson eyes oh, so gentle on yours, so full of affection. “Look at her, she’s perfect. And you did this, my love.”
“We did this.” You lean your head against hers, your temple softly landing on her fair hair, the warmth of her skin pressed to yours soothing your aching body. “We’re a family now, aren’t we?”
“We were already a family, dearest. But I love to see it grow, with you.”
Ningguang softly kisses your hair. She stays there, breathing in your scent, relishing in the fact that, This is it. That, She loves you. That, From now on, she’ll have a family to protect and cherish.
If you didn’t know her better, you’d say she’s done all of this before, being a mother. Of course, you didn’t doubt for a second that Ningguang was bound to be an outstanding motherly figure for your child, but she eases into the role all too easily, like she knows what to do by heart, almost by instinct.
She balances her job as the Tianquan and being your partner and mother of your child with grace, as one might expect. From the outside, Ningguang has grown as even more impressive and admirable to the public eye. A political figure with both power and elegance, and a devoted mother. She’s essentially flawless.
But you know her better than that, and you see of what goes on in Ningguang’s life once the curtains fall. She struggled at first, balancing every aspect of her life. She wanted to be the very best partner for you, the best mother for your kid, and continue being a graceful Tianquan all at the same time, but she quickly burned off her energy.
Being the loving partner that you are, you helped her ease her load. You pack her lunch, even if there’s no need for that, but Ningguang loves seeing you care for her.
She lets you steal her away every couple of weekends to spend the two of you alone with your child, gently coaxing her to relax. Ningguang absolutely adores the feeling of your hands in her skin, lazily drawing silhouettes under the rays of the morning sun, as your daughter playfully attempts to braid Ningguang’s hair, softly tugging at the fair locks.
And Ningguang thinks, smiling up to both of you, her crimson eyes soaked with affection, I must be the richest person in this world.

Them Comforting You After Getting Bad Grades
Characters: Ganyu, Keqing and Yae Miko x F!Reader.
Warnings: Mentions of bad grades and feelings of sadness and frustration.
A/N: Hello dear friend! I wrote this as fast as I could. As a matter of fact, I understand your situation perfectly. I was feeling exactly like that a couple of weeks ago. Last semester was for me the worst one I've ever experienced in my life, grade-wise. When you train yourself to be the golden child with straight As, getting one bad result after another can shatter the image you have of yourself. In these times, please reach out to a friend and talk to them about how you're feeling, give yourself time to rest and find motivation to try again when you feel strong enough. My inbox and my private messages are always open in case you want to talk, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy this work. I wrote the three most important lessons I got out of last semester's experience, and I hope you find some comfort too, friend <3
You’re sitting on your shared bed, looking out the window. The soft sound of the raindrops tapping against the glass is soothing in your ears, the sight beyond of the sky darkened by clouds a beautiful one.
“Is there anything special you’d like to do?” Ganyu asks, since your plans of going out on a stroll through the Harbor aren’t suitable in this weather. “Perhaps we can keep reading that book we started last week. I enjoyed the sound of your voice telling the story. You do the different character’s voices so well.”
Ganyu chuckles. You simply sigh, your eyes focused on the scenery beyond the window. If emotions could influence the weather, this rain would be your fault.
“Is it okay if I ask you a question?” Ganyu tentatively says.
“Oh. Yes, sure.” You turn to her, feeling rude for ignoring her words before.
“Is something bothering you? You seem… troubled, as of late.”
Ganyu slowly sits on the bed next to you, her body turned to yours. You shake your head, the locks tickling your neck.
“It’s just— I’m really tired, Ganyu.” You cast your eyes down to your lap, your hands opened and empty. “I received my grades for this semester and they’re awful. They’re not at all what I was expecting, and… It’s just so frustrating.”
“They are?” Ganyu looks taken aback for a moment. She stares back at you, big lilac eyes focused on the slightest change in your expression. “I don’t understand. You studied day and night for those exams? What happened?”
You let out a wet chuckle, though it comes out muffled in your throat.
“I don’t know. I guess I got unlucky this time.” You say, your voice not matching the heaviness you feel in your chest. “I worked hard, didn’t I? I sacrificed so much. I spent weeks doing nothing but study, and— And this is the best I can do? What does that say about me?”
You swallow hard, feeling the familiar sting of unshed tears behind your eyelids. Ganyu slowly takes one of your hands from your lap and holds it tenderly in her grasp. You turn your face to her.
“No. No, please don’t say that. It breaks my heart seeing you like this.” Ganyu’s eyes are locked on yours, and you see her expression pained, like she can feel the way your chest shudders and aches. “Exams are important, but they don’t define who you are or how smart you can be. Not in the slightest. Do you understand that?”
“I understand that, but I don’t feel it, if that makes sense.” You explain, your hand still in Ganyu’s hold. You can feel her warmth there, and it soothes you just a little. “Like, I understand that my value is not defined by grades, of course, but… I worked so hard and all I achieved was this huge amount of nothing. And now I have to do it all again, and— I’m just so tired.”
Ganyu nods to your words. She seems to ponder for a bit before opening her mouth again.
“That’s to be expected, you worked so hard for so long. Regardless of the results, you did your part and you did it magnificently and very diligently.” Ganyu raises her hand, timidly placing it over your cheek, her touch barely there. Her cheeks are blooming with pink colors at the intimate gesture, but her voice sounds confident when she says. “You deserve to take a break.”
You draw your eyes away from hers, but not moving away from her touch. You can feel the warmth of her palm on your cheek, and it sends a pleasant feeling of familiarity down your veins.
“I don’t know if I can.” You shake your head. “I don’t have the time, I need to—”
Ganyu raises her voice slightly, sounding nervous.
“I hate to be insistent, but please, listen to me. I know a thing or two about overworking myself, and I’m not proud of that. You can’t keep working this hard indefinitely. If you wish to have the strength to do better next time, then please, take a break.” Ganyu says, her lilac eyes honest on yours. She repeats. “You deserve to rest.”
You know that Ganyu is right. You can’t keep working hard and not give yourself a break and expect things to change. You need to recharge your batteries before you can tackle the exams again. So you take a big breath in, let it out slowly, and nod your head.
“Will you be with me?” You timidly say, drawing a small smile. But a hopeful one. “If I take a break like you asked?”
“Yes. Yes, of course I will.” Ganyu nods happily, her lips blooming in a bright smile. “And I will be with you after, if you wish me to. We can sit down and study together, I’ll make sure you understand everything you need. Please, count on me.”
“What’s with that face?” Keqing says. You’re in a clothing shop, your hand absent-mindedly brushing the fabric of a nearby dress. “You look distracted. I thought you enjoyed shopping.”
You drop your hands to the side, sigh rolling out of your lips lazily. “I’m sorry, Keqing. I just have a lot on my mind lately.”
“Hm. In that case, taking a break is in order.” Keqing is quick to say. She reaches to you, gently grasping your wrist with her fingers. “How about we go for some ice cream? That might cheer you up.”
“I would like that, yes.” You nod shyly, feeling the warmth of Keqing’s hand on your wrist as she drags you out of the store.
You go to the Harbor together, and Keqing buys ice creams for the two of you. You sit on a bench, looking down at the docks, watching the boats come and go, the sun that greets the nation of contracts slowly disappearing beyond where your eyes can reach, melting into the sea underneath.
“So… Is it something that you’d wish to talk about?” Keqing asks.
She isn’t too good at comforting people, admittedly. She’s usually the one being comforted by you when the stress of being the Yuheng gets too much for her, but it’s not often she finds herself on the other side of the conversation. Still, she wishes she could be of help to you.
You sigh, the air slowly leaving your lungs as you search for the right words.
“I’ve just received my grades for this semester. They’re not at all what I was expecting, and I… I just don’t know how to feel about that.”
Keqing tilts her head, a slight frown forming on her face. “I remember you locked yourself in your room for days studying. They couldn’t have gone that bad, could they?”
You turn to look at her, and you watch Keqing’s expression shifting into a worried one, like she somehow can read of all the tragedies blooming deep inside your veins.
“They’re bad. Like, really bad. Like, how did I even mess this up so bad, bad.” You cover your face with your hands, fingers trembling. “I’m sorry I disappointed you, Keqing.”
“No. Don’t put words in my mouth so freely.” Keqing frowns again, shaking her head promptly. “Listen. And I need you to listen very carefully to what I’m about to tell you. You’re not a disappointment. Not to me, not to anyone, not even to you, regardless of the grades you’ve received. You worked your hardest, didn’t you? Just be proud that you did all you could do.”
“But my hardest wasn’t enough.” You say, the words tasting bitter on your tongue. “I sacrificed so much, I burned myself for… for this? Why did I even work that hard for?”
Keqing seems pensive for a moment before she opens her mouth again.
“I understand what you’re saying, but there isn’t much to do about that now, is it?” You look at her, confused. Keqing tries again. “What I mean is, you did your best, you got these results, they’re not what you were expecting, but there’s nothing you can do to change them now. Don’t dwell on it.” Keqing says, her lilac eyes seem to soften around the edges. “Of course, you can feel upset and frustrated. You should. But then, once you’re ready to move on, we can start to plan how you’re going to approach it the next time around. Make sure you’re well prepared for every eventuality.”
“What do you mean ‘we’?” You ask tentatively.
“You’re not planning on leaving me out of this now, are you?” Keqing huffs, crossing her arms over her chest. “I’ll offer you my service. Something must’ve failed in the process for you to get those grades, even if your effort was in the right place. Maybe it was the organization, maybe the planning of the time, maybe the way you tried to learn. We’ll analyze it, figure out what went wrong, plan ahead and make sure you do better next time. Does that sound okay to you?”
You feel your chest bloom, a familiar warmth spreading down your veins, soothing you.
“Will you really do that for me?” Your voice is hopeful.
Keqing’s cheeks grow a faint shade of pink. She fidgets with her fingers on her lap, eyes casted away.
“I mean. I don’t precisely enjoy seeing you in this state.” Keqing says, returning her sharp gaze to you, and you feel her words drawing stars in the vault of your chest. “So we have a deal, don’t we? Take a break, feel the frustration, and when you’re ready, let’s plan your next approach so you come out victorious. It doesn’t matter how big it is, the important thing is that you don’t give up and you always take the next step forward.”
“My, my. What do we have here?” Miko says when she finds you in your room. She had been looking for you at the shrine, but the maidens told her they hadn’t seen you today at all, so Miko went looking for you where she knew she would find you. But when she did, this isn’t what she expected to find. “Seems like the little one has lost its charm today. What a dreadful sight to see.”
“I apologize, Miko.” You say from your position sitting on the bed, your legs pressed to your chest. “I’m not feeling the best today.”
“You don’t need to tell me, it’s all written on your face.” She says, lifting your chin with one finger. You reluctantly draw your eyes away from hers. “Well? Are you planning on telling me what’s ailing you, or should I simply stay here idly waiting for you to make up your words? I have places to be, mind you.”
You shake your head, locks of hair tickling your neck. “You don’t need to worry about me. Please, feel free to go if you’re needed elsewhere. I’m alright.”
“Can’t really take a joke, can you?” Miko sighs, finding a place to sit on your bed. You feel the mattress sinking softly under her. “That is fair, I suppose. After all, I don’t fancy you because of your humorous skills.”
“What do you fancy me for, then?” You raise an eyebrow, curious.
“Fishing for compliments?” Miko chuckles, and you find that the sound of her laugh lifts a little the stormy clouds settled in your chest. “And here I was worried you were in a low mood. Silly me.”
You let out a sigh, the air slowly leaving your lips. “Alright, if you really wish to know, it’s about my grades. They are not great in the slightest, and I feel—“
“Let me take a wild guess, won’t you? You feel disappointed in yourself because you worked so very hard and still did not receive the results you were expecting. And, of course, there’s the frustration that comes with the disappointment. Is this really the best I can do? Do all my efforts amount to such a pitiful reward?” Miko says, gracefully moving her hands as she speaks, her tone of voice somewhat bored. “Did I hit bullseye, or should I try again?”
“Yes. That is exactly how I’m feeling.” You say, though you don’t appreciate the disinterested way in which she’s adressing your emotions.
“Hundreds of years living amongst humans and I still can’t grasp why your people fuss over things with such little importance.” Miko massages her temples, exasperated. You feel a tiny bit heartbroken at the implications. “You really have no idea how cruel the world can be, do you?”
You blink several times, feeling the familiar sting of tears behind your eyelids, but you refuse to cry in front of her. “It is important to me. I worked so hard for weeks, and still I—”
“Spare me the self-pity, will you?” Miko sighs again, shaking her head. You watch her hair cascading pink over her back. “It is tragic… such wholehearted motivation, rendered meaningless by an unfortunate outcome. Have you given up already? Or perhaps you haven’t considered the full picture?”
“What do you mean by the full picture?” You reluctantly ask, still wary of her words.
“This is a human society —at the moment, anyway— so you are granted a second chance at this, yes?” Miko asks.
“Yes.” You nod, not following her line of thought. “I can try again and do those exams, but I’ll have to start from scratch.”
“You will miss much by being so short-sighted.” Miko shakes her head again, her sharp eyes finding yours and staying there. You find yourself swallowing hard. “You suffer from the thought of having to start your efforts again, but have you considered all the path that you’ve already walked so far? If you ask me, that doesn’t count as starting from scratch.”
You stop and think for a moment about her words. Miko is right, in fact. You have already worked so hard, and you have part of that knowledge with you. Next time around, it will take you less effort to relearn what you already know. And you’ll have more time to spend learning what you don’t know now.
“Oh.” You say, drawing a small smile, suddenly feeling a little hopeful.
Miko draws a smile, her lips easily blooming into a beautiful sight. “See? It’s only a matter of perspective. In my eyes, and I know far more than you could comprehend, you’re already halfway there. Isn’t that good news, little one?”
