How to make wings for The Sims 4
Hey everyone! I'm bringing you a short tutorial that many of you have requested on Instagram: how to make wings for The Sims 4 with the Enchanted by Nature expansion pack.
I don't know if there are other methods; this is the one I use after studying how the wings work in the game. Let's begin!
I use these wings as a base because they've worked best for me.
Step 1: Create the 3D Mesh The first thing we'll do is create a fully 3D mesh, as shown in the video, to achieve the correct wing shape.
Step 2: Prepare the texture.
For the texture, we will use this image, where I will show the color guide.
You can use five different colors, and I personally prefer these wings because they give me more room to create a suitable texture.
Wings in the game have a color system, so for this system to work, we'll have to create the texture in black and white, using grayscale. Remember that whites will represent more vibrant colors, and grays will represent darker colors.
Step 3: Animating the Wings in Blender Once we have our texture ready in Photoshop, we return to Blender to animate our wings and ensure they work with the game's animations. As I show in the video, this is an important step.
Step 4: Importing into Sims 4 Studio After creating and animating our wings, we save our work and go to Sims 4 Studio. Here, we will import both the texture and the mesh we created.
Solid Textures We can also create solid textures that will not have transparency. To do this, we simply have to use all the available space in the texture.
Once in Sims 4 Studio, we will follow a series of steps, which you can see in the video, to make these textures work as such. Remember that solid textures will not have transparency and do not work with the game's color system. Therefore, the texture should already have its defined color.
Step 5: Test in the game Finally, once we've completed all these steps, we just need to test how our wings work in the game.
That's it, guys! I hope this guide works for you and is helpful. If so, please leave a like and a comment, and I'll see you in the next video. Love you all!
