Rewatching While You Were Sleeping kdrama and it just reinforces my thought that its First Episode is one of the best there is- cinematic, tense, introduces the main 3 protagonists, lays down the perfect fuse.

I love My Royal Nemesis but I just wish the conflict wasn't so one-sided. Where's that ruthlessness that Cha Se-gye showcased in the initial few episodes? Why do Mun-do's moves and wins end up dealing big damages to the leads- physical injury, reputation, finance, relationships, etc while all our leads end up achieving are rather small wins? Why is the only "so-called rival" to Mun-do the grandfather (who i dislike!)? Where's your business acumen Cha Se-gye? your spies? informants? leverage against the enemy? You are telling me you have nothing?!!! Why are you always 2-3 steps back?

Seo-ri despite her circumstances and mental landscape feels far more realistic... I liked that she told Se-gye the "truth" that she might be going back but the way these two never ironed out the logistics of her time travel and other stuff that I knew this would've ended the way it did in the episode(if the person I was interested in told me something like- I came from X dynasty. Checking their mental health would be second priority to me, first i would be like- gimme the deets. coz I am insane like that ik) Also I know Seo-ri was feeling an emotional whiplash from everything but I would've grabbed Se-gye and made him understand the situation one way or another-fight or no fight!

Maybe it's coz the trailer had promised these "grey villainous red flag x red flag" leads and all I am getting are largely misunderstood (not completely misunderstood coz he's plenty ruthless to his subordinates when he's in a bad mood!) meanies?!
