Being a DC fan in actuality is really fucking funny because you’ll mostly stay in your own corner with passing knowledge on other characters and then sometimes discourse you’ve never heard of pops up on your dash about another subset of DC and when you click on it it’s apparently an argument that’s been going on for 20+ years and has divided the entire character tag, had 3 writers fired, forced DC editorial to step in only to get lashed off the internet, led to 7 fist fights and also Batman is There. And then you click out of it and Never Hear Of It Again.

I think the biggest issue with spy x family is that is that people read it as if it’s a slice of life romance instead of a slice of life action-comedy. I don’t think I’d be so annoyed if people don’t constantly treat anything unrelated to twiyor as ‘filler.’ People hate on eden kids stuff despite twiyor moments also being ‘plot filler.’ Developing Anya’s interpersonal life and treating her not as just a cute mascot but a character is actually the same as furthering Yor and Twilight’s emotional development.

I’d imagine this arc is primarily to put the SSS basically permanently off Loid Forger as Twilight/spy in general, while also boosting Yor’s affection meter higher(?).Especially when the entire arc has been SSS agents being Loid is such a good person wow, poor guy is suffering the director, we should throw Yuri at the director to save him. So I don’t think whatever he’s planning is going to have wider consequences. Personal consequences though… Yuri getting tranq’ is probably most likely if Twilight ends up 1) missing or 2) Yor doesn’t feel anything.

The temptation to write the Twilight retirement fic that would be primarily about personhood… I unfortunately hate war and like world peace too much for me to ever think ‘Twilight’ should stop existing unless he is no longer useful. He can only fail when his failure won’t lead to war. I might be secretly a WISE director…

Also making Twilight spiral and question is Yor is in love with Loid Forger, the perfect husband, or himself/[Redacted] and forcing himself to work even harder to be the ‘perfect husband’ because he thinks that’s the only way for Yor to love him back
