love reading ur works, if you could write frank x reader smut where there's an age gap (like reader is in 20s) i would love that :) i understand if not.
โก Thank you so much, that means a lot! I hope you like this one ^^
โก warnings: smut, 18+, big age gap (frank is in his late 40s, early 50s, reader in her 20s), dom!frank, spanking, degradation, rough unprotected sex, creampies.
~
"Where are you going looking like that?"
"Uhm..." You give Frank a puzzled look before looking down at your dress. "I'm going out with my friends."
"Not looking like that. That dress barely covers your ass. And those pantyhose..." His gaze travels down your fishnet covered legs. "You might as well walk around naked."
OK NOW IT'S MY TURN!
Y'ALL HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I DESPISE FRANK AND KAREN TOGETHER. It genuinely makes me ill ๐ญ Like, excuse me??? That's MY MAN. He's literally mine. What does this blonde even want with him?? GET AWAY.
Frank Castle x Reader ~ Driverโs License
A/N ~ So, here it is, the almost 5k fic I mentioned earlier this week!
Iโve had this idea sitting in my drafts for over a year and Iโve finally managed to finish it. Itโs inspired by drivers license by Olivia Rodrigo and is my first time writing something quite like this.
I really hope you enjoy it!
Will this turn into another mini-series? Iโm not sure. The way this ended definitely wasnโt what I originally had planned.
Enjoy!
Summary ~ You loved Frank but when you see him with a certain blonde girl things begin to feel a little different.
To the lovely people who had wished to read this fic - I hope you donโt mind that I tagged you @naranarasstuff @madprincessinabox @star-yawnznn @voldyslostnose05 @athenabarnes
You and Frank had been together for six months.
Six months of learning each otherโs habits. The little things you had never thought you would notice about another person. The way he took his coffee, the way he left a cupboard door half-open, the way his footsteps sounded different depending on his mood. Six months of learning his silences, too. Learning when they meant he was tired, when they meant he was thinking and when they meant he simply needed you close without having to say it.
Six months of slowly building something neither of you had dared to name at first.
Something that, somewhere along the way, had started to feel permanent.
You had moved into Frankโs place not long after you started dating. There hadnโt been a conversation about it. No grand decision. You had just left a few things behind one evening, then a few more the next day, until one morning you realised your clothes were hanging beside his and there was a toothbrush sitting next to his in the bathroom. Your sneakers had found a permanent place beside his battered boots by the front door. Your life had quietly become tangled up with his. Frank had let it happen but he was still The Punisher.
That part of him hadnโt disappeared just because he had you now. There were nights when he would leave without much explanation, the weight of the white skull disappearing beneath his jacket and that familiar look settling behind his eyes. Sometimes he was gone for a night. Sometimes a few days.ย
You hated those nights. Hated lying awake in the darkness, staring at the ceiling and listening for the sound of the key turning in the lock. But he always came back. Always.ย
Sometimes it was just before dawn, his footsteps heavy in the hallway. Sometimes it was days later, exhaustion etched into his face and bruises dark beneath his skin. Every time, no matter how long he hadย ย been gone, he had come home to you. That had become its own kind of promise. He might disappear into the darkness but he always found his way back. Back to you. In knowing that, despite everything Frank was and everything he did, there was still a place in this world he considered home.
You had started letting yourself believe in it. In him. In the possibility that maybe this small apartment, his boots beside your shoes, his hand finding yours in the middle of the night, could be enough. For the first time in a long time, life had felt good. Not perfect. You didnโt need perfect. Just good and safe.
Maybe, this could last.
Until he introduced you to her.
Youโre always with that blonde girlโฆthe one who made me doubt.
Karen.
You remembered the first time you had met her at the local bar. Your first thought had been that she was beautiful. Tall. Blonde. Long-legged. The kind of woman who seemed to command attention without ever having to ask for it. She carried herself with a confidence that made people look twice, as though she belonged wherever she happened to be standing. Then, there was you.
You became aware of everything you never usually thought about. The way your hair was around your shoulders. The way your skin looked in the dim bar light. You knew you were pretty. At least, most of the time, you did. But standing beside Karen had made something inside you shrink. You couldnโt compare. You couldnโt.
You sat at a table on the opposite side of the bar, your fingers loosely curled around your drink as you watched Frank wait at the counter for the two of you. Then, Karen appeared beside him.
She slipped into the space next to him with an ease that made your stomach tighten.ย
Frank angled his body slightly away from her.ย
At first, you thought that was a good sign. He was creating space between them. You let out a quiet breath, your shoulders relaxing slightly as you took another sip of your drink.
See? There was nothing to worry about. But then you kept watching.
You noticed the small smile that pulled at the corner of Frankโs mouth. It was different. Not dramatically different. Not enough that anyone else would probably notice but you did. You knew Frankโs smiles.
The rare, reluctant ones that appeared when you teased him. The ones he tried to hide when you said something ridiculous. The tiny upward twitch of his mouth when he was pretending not to be amused by you. You had learned them all.
You had learned him. Because they were yours. Or at least, you had thought they were.
Karen laughed at something he said.
Frank looked away for a moment, his eyes dropping towards the bar before returning to her.
You couldnโt hear what they were saying over the music and the low murmur of conversation around you. Maybe, it was nothing.Of course, it was nothing.
But watching them together, you couldnโt stop the thought from forming. They looked good together. The thought landed somewhere deep inside you, heavier than it should have. You immediately tried to push it away.
No.
Donโt do that.
You had heard about Karen before tonight. Frank had mentioned her a few times. He had saved her life more than once. You knew that much. You just hadnโt thought much of it. Not until now. Not until you saw them standing together. Not until you saw the way Karen looked at you when Frank introduced you.
There had been something in her expression. Something you couldnโt quite name. Something that lingered for only a second before she smiled and looked away. You had told yourself you were imagining it until she looked across the table at Frank and quickly looked away again.
Your fingers tightened around your glass. There it was. That uncomfortable twist in your stomach. Maybe, you were being ridiculous. Maybe, this was what happened when you loved someone enough to become afraid of losing them. You didnโt know. Everything just felt slightly off. A little too off. The worst part was that you couldnโt explain why.
Yeah, today I drove through the suburbs.
โCause how could I ever love someone else?
Your phone lit up beside your drink. A message from your friend about dinner plans that weekend. You ignored it. Instead, your eyes caught on the screen saver. A picture of you and Frank. For a moment, the noise of the bar seemed to fade. You remembered that day perfectly.
You had gone shopping without him that morning because you thought he needed the rest. Frank had disagreed, of course. He had insisted he should have been there to carry the bags, his brows drawing together in that permanently serious expression he wore whenever he was annoyed.
You had laughed at him. Then, you had pulled out your phone.
You were almost a whole head shorter than him, your head coming just at the centre of his chest. You had smiled brightly at the camera while Frank had stared into it with the most serious expression you could coax out of him. You had taken the picture anyway.
You remembered laughing afterwards. You remembered how he had rolled his eyes. You remembered how he had looked at you when you werenโt looking. It had made you smile every time you looked at it. Now, it only made your chest ache.
Your thumb brushed absently over the screen.ย
For a second, you wondered if you were holding onto a version of your relationship that had already started slipping away. The thought scared you enough that you immediately pushed it down.
No.
Frank loved you. He came home to you. He chose you.
Didnโt he?
You looked up again. Frank and Karen were still at the bar. Except the space between them seemed smaller now. Your eyebrows pulled together. Maybe it was just your perspective and your eyes were playing tricks on you. You stared a little longer. They werenโt.
When the bartender finally placed your drinks on the counter, Frank reached for them. He had to move away from Karen to do it. Then, you realised how close she had been standing beside him. Close enough that you hadnโt noticed the distance disappear.
Your stomach dropped. You looked down at your phone again.
At the picture of you and Frank. At the smile you had once been so certain belonged to you. For the first time that night, a small, unwelcome fear began to settle in your chest.
And I know we werenโt perfect but Iโve never felt this way for no one.
You and Frank had met through the Libermans. You and Sarah had known each other since you were kids and over the years you had babysat Leo and Zach a few times. One of those evenings, Frank had walked through the back door, assuming David was home.ย
You hadnโt been expecting anyone.
The sight of a large, unfamiliar man suddenly appearing in the kitchen had terrified the life out of you. You had reacted on instinct, swinging the broomstick straight at him. It had barely left a mark.
Once Frank had explained who he was and you had called Sarah to make absolutely certain he wasnโt some psycho killer or kidnapper, you had apologised profusely and made him coffee. Somehow, from that slightly disastrous first meeting, the rest became history.
Frank started showing up everywhere. At your work. Outside your home. At your favourite coffee place. It was as though every coincidence had already been carefully planned. Eventually, he asked you out.
Then again.
And again.
And again.
Until, eventually, you stopped saying no.
Soon, the two of you were sharing the same space, even if Frank still disappeared for days at a time because of his life as The Punisher. But he always came back. When he did, he rarely came empty handed.
Sometimes it was flowers or chocolates. Sometimes a book you had mentioned wanting or a piece of jewellery he had caught you looking at through a shop window. Small things. But things that told you he had been thinking about you while he was gone. Once Frank was in your life, everything seemed to fall into place and getโฆfixed.ย
The broken faucet? Fixed. The loose cupboard door? Fixed.
The shelf you had been meaning to sort out for months? Somehow, suddenly, fixed.
He noticed things. He remembered things.ย
Without ever making a big deal of it, Frank had made you feel as though the broken parts of you could be fixed too.
He had made you feel safe. Loved. Chosen.
That was why the thought of losing him felt almost impossible to breathe through.
And I just canโt imagine how you could be so okay now that Iโm gone.
The argument had come from nowhere. At least, thatโs what you kept telling yourself. You hadnโt meant to see the messages. You had been tidying the bedroom while Frank showered when you noticed his phone glowing softly on the nightstand.
The name on the screen made your stomach twist.
Karen.
You ignored it. You trusted Frank. You did. Then, the phone pinged again.
You kept folding his clothes.ย
Another ping.
You straightened the duvet.
Another.
Eventually, you couldnโt pretend you werenโt listening anymore. The shower was still running when you reached for the phone.
Four messages.
You opened the first.
I miss you.
Your eyes moved to the next.
I thought we could have been good together.
Then,
It should have been me instead of her.
Your breath caught.
Frank, I should have told you this sooner.
Iโm sorry.
I really thought we could have been something.
You dropped the phone onto the bed as though it had burned you. Your fingers trembled. Suddenly, you were back at the bar. Karen standing beside him. The way she had looked at you. The small smile Frank had given her. The way you had sat across the room, quietly convincing yourself you were imagining things.
Your stomach turned.
Did Frank cheat?
The thought came again, sharper this time. You picked up the phone and searched through the conversation. Frankโs messages were there. Brief. Almost professional.
The last one was from two weeks ago, when he had told Karen where the two of you were meeting at the bar. You scrolled further. There was nothing else there.ย
You checked his calls. Nothing. No missed calls. No voicemails. Nothing that suggested there had been anything between them. But that didnโt answer the question that mattered.
Had Karen been carrying these feelings for Frank all this time?
Did Frank feel something too?
You didnโt know which possibility frightened you more.
โSweetheart, everything alright?โ
You looked up.
Frank stood in the doorway, his hair damp from the shower, a towel secured around his waist. His brows were drawn together as his eyes moved over your face.
โHey. You good?โ
Then his gaze dropped to the phone in your hands. You watched as his brows pinched together.ย
You couldnโt explain it. Couldnโt even find the words. You simply handed him the phone and walked out.
โBaby?โ
You kept going.
โWhatโs goinโ on? You alright?โ
In the kitchen, you filled a glass with cold water and drank it too quickly, hoping the coldness might settle the storm inside your chest.
It didnโt.
Frank appeared moments later, dressed in his usual black henley and navy jeans.
โWere you going through my phone?โ
โNo.โ
The lie came too quickly. Frank stared at you.
โSo whatโs wrong?โ
โNothing.โ
You put the glass in the sink. You needed space. Just enough time to think. Because your mind wanted to accuse him, while your heart fought desperately against it.
Frank wouldnโt do that to you. He was your Frank. The man who brought you flowers when he came home. The man who fixed everything. The man who had somehow become so important that imagining a life without him felt like imagining one without air.
He wouldnโt.
Would he?
You turned towards the door.
โBaby? Where are you going?โ
You kept walking.
Frank caught up before you reached it, his hand closing gently around your forearm.
โStop. Running away from me, would ya?โ
You turned. For a moment, neither of you spoke. His hand was warm against your skin. Under any other circumstances, it would have calmed you. Instead, it made everything hurt more.
โKaren messaged you.โ
Frank frowned. His eyes dropped to the phone. You watched as his eyes read over the messages. You searched his face for guilt. For regret. For anything that would confirm the fear already twisting inside you. Instead, disbelief crossed his features.
โSo, what?โ he asked. โWhat does that have to do with anything?โ
โWell, I dunno.โ You swallowed. โYou seemed to be all over her at the bar.โ
Frank stared at you. โWhat?โ
โYou heard me.โ
โWhat are you talking about? I was there with you.โ
โItโs not what I saw.โ
His jaw tightened. โI donโt want Karen.โ
โCould have fooled me.โ
The words came out quieter than you intended. You saw the hurt flash across his face. For one terrible second, you almost reached for him. Almost apologised. Almost let him pull you into his arms and tell you everything was fine.
But the fear was louder.
You couldnโt let yourself fall back into his arms when you still didnโt know what was true. You pulled your arm from his grasp, grabbed your jacket, opened the door and walked out. You didnโt look back because you knew if you did, you might see something in his eyes that would make you stop.ย
Two months passed. Nothing came from Frank.
No message.
No call.
Nothing.
At first, you had been surprised. He could have found you. You knew that. A small, traitorous part of you had expected him to. You hadย ย imagined him turning up at your door, angry and worried, demanding to know why you had left. You hadย ย expected him to fight for you. When he didnโt, you told yourself that was answer enough.
โI thought you and that new fella of yours was really somethinโ,โ Rosie, the bartender, told you two weeks later.
You sat alone at the bar, waiting for your friends.ย
You didnโt answer. You simply lifted your whiskey and swallowed it in one go. The burn caught at the back of your throat. Then, something familiar caught your eye.
Short sides. Fuller on top. That unmistakable Marine cut. Your heart stumbled.ย ย You turned, already expecting to see him.
Frankโs dark brows. That crooked nose. That sharp jaw. But when the man finally turned, you felt almost foolish.
He looked nothing like your Frank.
You stared at your empty glass.
โThree shots,โ you said quietly.
One after another, you drank them down. Until the warmth in your chest dulled everything you didnโt want to feel.
So, you went out.
Nights with the girls blurred into loud music, half-empty glasses and early mornings. You slept through most of the day until your back ached from lying in the same position for too long, then dragged yourself up and did it all over again.
Work was the only place you managed to hold yourself together. There, you could straighten your clothes, answer emails, smile at colleagues and pretend you were still the same person youโd been before everything had fallen apart. For a few hours, you could almost believe it.
Until one afternoon, you happened to walk past an internโs cubicle and caught sight of their computer screen. Your steps slowed.
The Punisher.
His face filled the screen. You stopped dead.
Apparently, without you knowing, the Punisher had been caught in a blast at an apartment building. You barely registered the words surrounding the image before your hand was already reaching into your pocket for your phone.
Frankโs name was still there. You had never deleted it. Your thumb hovered over his contact for only a second before you pressed call.
Once.
Twice.
You held your breath. The call ended.
You stared at the screen before calling again.
Nothing.
A third time.
Still nothing.
The tightness in your chest became unbearable.
You hurried towards your office, barely acknowledging anyone as you went and shut the door behind you. Your back pressed against it as you stood there, breathing hard, listening to the quiet on the other side.
Your hands were shaking. You opened your messages instead. The last one was from Frank.
Iโll be home soon.
You stared at the words until they blurred.
Home.
The word hurt more than it should have. Things hadnโt felt like home in a long time. Not after the argument. Not after Karen. Not after you had walked away and waited for him to come after you.
Your thumb moved towards the message box.
Are you okay?
You stared at the words. Then, deleted them. Your mind supplied the excuse before you could stop it.ย
He was probably with Karen.
Maybe he didnโt need you anymore. If he did, he would have called. He would have found you. He knew where you were.
You looked at Frankโs name again.
You could call. You could send the message. You could tell him that despite everything, you were still worried. But you couldnโt bring yourself to give him that. Two calls were enough. They had to be.
You locked your phone and slipped it back into your pocket, forcing yourself to return to work as though your hands werenโt still trembling. As though your heart wasnโt somewhere else entirely. Waiting for a call that never came.
After that, you made a point of avoiding anything related to the Punisher.
You looked away from newspapers on the train. Took the longer route through the grocery store to avoid the magazine aisle. If his face appeared on a television in the background of a cafรฉ, you lowered your eyes. If someone started talking about him, you found a reason to leave. Anything to keep Frank away.
Out of sight. Out of mind.
At least, that was what you kept telling yourself.
Today I drove through the suburbs and pictured I was driving home to you.
Two months had passed and things had started to get better. Slowly, painfully but they were better.ย ย The drunken nights had stopped. So had the weekends spent curled beneath your duvet, barely moving until Monday morning forced you out of bed. You were eating properly again. Sleeping through the night. Laughing at things without immediately wondering whether Frank would have laughed too. You had even stopped checking your phone every few minutes.
Today, you had decided, was the day you were finally going to return the last of his things. A cardboard box sat on the passenger seat, filled with everything you had left of him. Every time you glanced at it, your eyes threatened to sting.
Photographs. Souvenirs. Little magnets Frank had brought back whenever he had been away saving people in some city you had only ever seen on the news. He would simply appear through the door, tired and bruised and pull some little souvenir from his pocket with that almost shy look on his face, as though he hadnโt been thinking about you the entire time he had been gone.
A crooked photo booth strip of the two of you stuck out from the top of the box. Beneath it was one of his old hoodies. Sitting on top of everything else was his black beanie. You stared at it for a moment before looking away.
You werenโt going to cry. Not today. You werenโt hurt anymore. At least, thatโs what you told yourself.
You were angry now and somehow, anger felt easier. Anger had edges. It gave you something to hold onto. Who better to unleash it on than the Punisher himself?
When you parked outside his apartment block, you sat behind the wheel for a moment, both hands resting against it. You had prepared yourself for the possibility that Karen might answer the door. Maybe she would be there. Maybe she had been there all along. You forced the thought down, took a slow breath and reached for the box. The weight settled against your arms as you stepped out of the car and headed inside.ย
Everything looked exactly the same. The faded walls. The familiar corridors. The doors lined up along either side. As though the building had refused to acknowledge that anything had changed.
You remembered walking up those stairs with Frank, your hand tucked into his as you rambled about something that probably hadnโt mattered nearly as much as you thought it did. You remembered the way his mouth would twitch when you made one of your terrible jokes, that reluctant laugh eventually escaping when you refused to let him pretend he hadnโt found it funny. You remembered the grocery bags hanging from his hands while you talked through whatever you were planning for dinner.
Frank would listen, giving the occasional grunt or nod at the appropriate moments and somehow that had always been enough. Those memories felt like they belonged to somebody else now. Somebody who had no idea how quickly everything could disappear.
When you reached his door, you lowered the box beside your feet and knocked.
Nothing.
You knocked again. Still nothing.ย
You stared at the door, suddenly feeling foolish for having come at all.
โHe hasnโt been here for a while.โ
You turned and saw Mrs Agnes peeking through the doorway further down the corridor.
โOh.โ
It was all you could manage. You nodded, then hesitated.
โHey, umโฆ Mrs Agnes?โ
โYes, sweetheart?โ
โYou didnโt, by chance, see a tall blonde lady come by, did you?โ
Mrs Agnes frowned thoughtfully before shaking her head.
โNot that Iโve seen, darling. No.โ
Something inside your chest loosened. Just for a second.
Maybe you had been wrong. Maybe all of it had been in your head.
Then, the doubt returned.
Karen not being here didnโt mean Frank wasnโt with her somewhere else.
You looked back at the box. You couldnโt bring yourself to pick it up again.
You said goodbye to Mrs Agnes, wished her well and walked away, leaving the box outside Frankโs door. You didnโt look back.
โCause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street.
The first tear slipped down your cheek somewhere between his apartment and home.
Then, another.
By the time you reached your street, you were crying so hard you had to blink repeatedly just to see the road ahead. It felt as though something inside you had finally broken open.
Frankโs face.
His voice.
His hands.
The sound of his laugh.
The way he had looked at you when he thought you werenโt watching. Every memory you had spent months trying to bury came rushing back.
By the time you pulled up outside your apartment, your eyes were swollen and aching.
You wiped your face with your hands before getting out and barely registered the familiar hallway as you unlocked your door.ย ย You tossed your keys inside and kicked off your shoes. You didnโt even bother changing. You went straight to your bed and collapsed onto it, your body finally giving in to the exhaustion you hadnโt realised you were carrying. You had spent months holding everything together, convincing yourself you were fine and now there was nothing left to hold it up. Sleep took you before you could even think about it.
You woke in the early hours, disoriented for a moment as you stared into the darkness.ย ย Eventually, you dragged yourself out of bed and got ready for work on autopilot. Shower. Clothes. Coffee. Keys. You moved through each step without thinking.ย
You didnโt think about the box outside Frankโs door. You didnโt think about the tears on the drive home. You simply carried on.As though nothing had happened.
ย As though nothing had changed.
Then, you opened your front door and something caught your eye. Something that hadnโt been there yesterday.
You froze.
A small object sat directly on the mat. Your stomach tightened. Slowly, you crouched down. You glanced along the hallway.
Empty.
You reached for it.
Cool metal pressed against your fingertips.
A silver bullet.
You turned it over slowly, your eyes tracing the intricate carving etched into the metal. Your breath caught.
The Punisher emblem.
You stared at it. Your heartbeat suddenly loud in your ears. Someone had left it there.ย ย Someone had wanted you to find it.
You looked down the empty hallway again.
Nothing. No footsteps. No movement.
Just silence.
Your fingers tightened around the bullet. You didnโt know who had left it. You didnโt know what they wanted.
But somehow, you knew one thing.
This wasnโt a coincidence.

if you only want whatโs best for me,
how come Iโm always feeling blue?
i made my wish a hundred times
it keeps almost coming true
i stretch myself a million miles across the desert to the moon
if youโd do anything for me,
how come you never do?
The movie youโd put on had finished hours ago and was now replaced by a black screen. Your phone had been thrown across the room after the tenth message left on delivered.ย
ย The array of your and Frankโs favorite snacks was growing staler by the minute. You couldnโt bring yourself to turn off the tv. Or clean up. Or drag your body to bed.ย
If you were honest, you couldnโt do anything. You couldnโt even feel.ย
You remember the first date night heโd missed. Your phone empty of any messages of calls to provide some sort of explanation for his absence.ย
It was complete radio silence from his end, youโd left a series of texts thatโd gone unread. When the lock on the front door click and the knob twisted, it was almost 4 am, you were fast asleep.ย
The floorboards groaned quietly with each step Frank took as he headed towards your shared bedroom. Moonlight filtered through the sheer lacy curtains he remembered installing for you, after youโd complained about the room not getting enough sunlight but still wanting a sense of privacy.ย
The light illuminated your sleeping body. And your tear streaked face. A frown seemed to take permanent residence on your face even when you werenโt awake. A sharp stabbing pain poked at his heart, jaw clenched knowing he was the cause for your unhappiness.ย
Heโd placed a feather-soft kiss on your temple, wrapping his arms around your mid section, and pulled you in close, molding your body to fit perfectly against his.ย
He hated himself for thinking it, the thought surrounded by an ugly cloud of darkness and ruin for things good, but he couldnโt help but think to the woman heโd made vows to and how she used to fit lying next to him.ย
You were woken up with a large bouquet of flowers wrapped in butcher paper, peonies being the main one judging by the large array spread across the assortment. A beaming smile replaced the sad expression on your face as you looked up at him, heโd kissed your forehead and whispered a thousand apologies, all of which youโd taken as you forgave him.ย
Youโd smiled then, so genuine and heartfelt at the action. No, peonies werenโt your favorite but you believed it was the thought that counted.ย
A couple weeks later, youโd found Frank staring at a picture of his family you had hung in the main area of your apartment. Neither of you spoke for a while, him needing to sit in his grief and you wanting to sit with him in it. When he finally spoke, it was about his wife.ย
Frank was a man who rarely opened up, spoke anything vulnerable. So, when he finally did, you embraced and accepted itโaccepted himโin a heartbeat. No judgement passed from you as he spoke of his marriage and his wife.ย
โHer favorite flowers were peonies.โ He said as a look of remembrance glazed over his eyes. A lump had suddenly formed in your throat, you swallowed hard in an attempt to get rid of it. Youโd mentioned your favorite flowers to him before. And sure, there were a few occasions when heโd gotten them for you.ย
But most flowers heโd gifted were peonies. You thought nothing of it, simply touched by the gesture. However, the sudden realization that he was trying to make up for lost time with the woman he lost greyed the moments once so colorful and full of life.ย
Still, you smiled at him, though it never reached your eyes. โBeautiful flowers fitting for a beautiful woman.โ
โYeah. She is.โ The guilt you felt for even comparing the two of you in the first place was no match for the surge of jealous that threatened to consume your entire being.ย
You were thrown into another instance of Frankโs no-shows.ย
It was your one-year anniversary. Heโd planned the entire date from the restaurant down to the heels that adorned your feet. You were supposed to arrive together but at the last moment, Frank had rushed out the door, planting a brief peck on your lips before yelling over his shoulder that he had to go but heโd meet you there. He didnโt.ย
Five minutes had gone by. You sat at your reserved table, a booth in a tiny corner of the restaurant, the way Frank liked it. Thirty minutes, the kind waitress had circled back around and asked if youโd like to start with a glass of wine. You ordered a whole bottle, expecting Frank to also indulge in some. An hour passed, the chicken cacciatore sat untouched along with the vodka pasta that had gone cold. The wine, however, was about half-way through before you decided to take the check.
Antonio, the owner, had known Frank long before he brought you here. You never thought anything of it from his look of surprise the first time Frank had taken you there as a first date. But now something had settled and refused to leave and it was being to rot inside of you. Antonio had packaged the food youโd ordered, making a bow out of the handles so the food wouldnโt fall out and told you the meal was on the house and called you a taxi home.ย
He had been sneaking worried glances at you all night when you were repeated checking your phone every minute and when your head would shoot to the door when the bell hanging above it would chime. Maybe it was then when he decided to take pity on you.
Or maybe it was when he finally locked eyes with you and saw everything you felt like it was written on your face.ย
But if you werenโt as good at masking your emotions to the point where the kind, old man was able to take notice, then had Frank?
The thought made your head spin. Perhaps it was a mixture of that and the numerous glasses of wine but you were fighting nausea the entire ride home.
โ
You didnโt have to check your phone to know that it was late into the night when the front door opened. Frank slowly closed the door, careful to not make any sound, assuming you were asleep. You werenโt.ย
The thud of his boots slowed to a stop a few feet from you as he took in your curled form on the couch, eyes wide opened. โShit, sweetheart,โ he cursed, his voice gruff and deep, the sound of it used to cause shivers to form on your skin. Now, though, you wanted nothing more than for him to stop talking. To avoid the argument you knew was inevitable. Because despite every missed date, missed dinner, missed hangout with your friends where you always had to make some excuse for his absence to the point where they stopped asking, you loved him. You loved when he was there, and not the ghost of him. โItโs late, why ainโt you asleep yet?โ
You loved the bump on his nose, traced every scar littered across his body with kisses. You sat on his lap and patiently wiped the blood he often came home with, pressing your lips onto patched wounds that youโd cleaned up. You stayed up with him each night the nightmares threatened to come alive.ย
You had anchored him in the present when the past threatened to pull him deeper. It was a shame that when you needed him in times like this, he left you to hopefully wash up on shore one day.ย
Your voice sounded unrecognizable even to you. Your eyes stayed locked onto the tv screen, refusing to meet his. โYou missed date night.โ In hindsight, it was something miniscule. Every partner has had to cancel a date with their lover before. Frank had. But he had missed too many.
A sigh left his lips as guilt crept into his bloodstream. โIโm sorry, baby. I-it slipped my mind.โ He didnโt search for an excuse. Knew heโd given you too many. Your laugh cut through the air, only intensifying the already tense atmosphere. You knew how this conversation went. Had it time and time again. But this time, you had nothing left to say. It was evident in the way you suddenly rose from your lying position on the couch, and headed to the kitchen. You didnโt need to look back to know he followed you. He said your name. No response came from you. Frank said it again.ย
You remembered a time when your name left his lips in such a delicate manner, like he wasnโt sure if he even deserved to say it. Now, though, it sounded wrong. Had too much desperation attached to it. โSweetheart, say somethinโ. Anythinโ.โ The sound of water being poured into the glass cup in your hand was the only sound that followed his plead. The glass clinked as you gently set it on the table, your eyes glued onto the water even after it settled. โWhat do you want me to say, Frank? Iโโll say it.โ
โNo, none of that bullshit, say what you mean-โ
โI have nothing left to say to you.โ You refuted. Frankโs eyes flickered across your face, searching for any emotion, something he could work with. His eyes moved to scan the room as if heโd find the solution to this, tongue darting out to wet his lips. โYou do, Iโve been horrible. Ainโt treatinโ you the way you deserve.โ His words had blown the dying flame in your heart back alive. Your head snapped towards him, finally meeting his eyes. He looked at you with such desperation. You wondered if that was the expression on your face every time you forgave him just to keep him.ย
Your eyes stung with tears you tried hard to keep back. โI canโt love you fully when you constantly have one foot out the door. This-whatever this is, is not enough.โ You couldnโt stop, the word vomit was one that had been stuffed down until this moment. It completely erupted. โI havenโt asked for much, have I, Frank?โ
โNo, sweetheart-โ
โYou miss a date. A chance to meet my friends. An event I told you was important. You donโt show. You come home with flowers in your hand and a kicked puppy look on your face and I take you back with open arms. I donโt ask why. Why you donโt bother showing him. Why you donโt explain what happens every time you slip away at night or the injuries you always come back with.โ You scoffed as tears finally dripped down your cheeks in never ending streams. โI donโt ask because when youโre here, it feels real. Like the bubble never popped and reality never crept in.โ
You laughed again, harshly wiping the tears from your cheeks. โGod, I mean, Iโm so fucking pathetic, only now realizing how big of a fool I am for not knowing you donโt care-โ
He snapped, unable to hold back his words. โI do care. I love you.โ
โThen why wonโt you open yourself to me fully? Did you-โ You stopped yourself but your self-restraint had already been cut loose. โDid you with Maria?โ. You watched as his mouth closed, jaw clenching almost painfully. His hands slightly balled at his side in an attempt to control himself. โDonโt do that.โ But that words had already been said.
โDid you?โ Your voice tight, as if bracing for physical impact. Frank tone seemingly matched your own, but you knew it was tight from restrained anger. Frustration.ย
โDonโt use my family against me.โ
Arms now crossed against your chest, continuing to build the barrier between you two. โIโm not. But I need to know Frank.โ If you didnโt ask now, youโd never have the courage to again. โAm I just someone to keep the bed warm so you can image itโs her lying next to you?โ
โStop.โ But you couldnโt. He took a step forward, you took three back. He was standing right in front of you and yet heโd never been farther. Somewhere you couldnโt reach, though you tried. You tried.
Now you were the desperate one. โJust tell me! What, you think I canโt handle the truth?โ
โYou donโt wanna know the truth.โ
Your arms flew up into the air in disbelief. โThatโs not for you to decide. You opened up to her, you told me that yourself. You let her in, to see the parts you think are unlovable. Why canโt you do that with me?โ
His own fuse had finally blown โShe saw me, alright? Is that what you wanna hear?โ
A beat passed between you as the argument began to boil. Your voice was contrastingly quiet to the violent fight. โYou think I donโt see you?โ Frank didnโt respond. โI have loved you for years. You think I havenโt seen every part of you?โ
His response was immediate. โI donโt let you.โ
You looked away, placing a hand on your hip while the other went to your forehead, a stance full of astonishment and disbelief wrapped in frustration bubbling just behind your teeth. โI have done everything I could. I made an excuse for you to my friends every time.โ One minute, you were standing in front of him, the next, you were suddenly close up to brace both palms on his chest, shoving him. โI made an excuse for you to my parents when you didnโt show up to the dinner you wanted.โ Another push. He barely moved an inch from his position. โI made an excuse for you to myself for every missed thing or when you ran unexplainably late. I accepted every fucking bouquet of flowers that werenโt even my favorite. Every dish you ordered for me, saying you knew Iโd like it but they werenโt flavors Iโd ever mentioned.โ A sob tore from your lips, your entire body rearing back when you felt his hand slightly brush your face. โEvery time you cried or woke up screaming Mariaโs name or your daughterโs or your sonโs. I was there. There has always been space for her. For your kids, here.
โBut is there space for me? With you?โ The question rested heavy between the two of you.
โWhatโre yโtalking about? Iโd do anything for you.โ
โExcept allow yourself to love me without the guilt of moving on. Of allowing yourself to love again.โ His silence all but confirmed your statement. You smiled, anyway, a tight-lipped one that didnโt quite reach your eyes but you smiled.ย
โIโve spent all this time being by your side because I love you. Even the parts you think you hide from me. I love you not despite them, but I love them because theyโre you.โ You walked past him, not seeing his fingers twitch when your shoulders slightly brushed. When you were just out the kitchen, you spoke over your shoulder quietly. Knowing heโd hear you. โIf youโre willing to try, knock on my door tomorrow morning. If not, you can leave your key on the coffee table.โ Frank remained standing in the kitchen long after he heard the click of the bedroom door closing shut.ย
The first thing you saw when you left your room the next day was the single key glinting tauntingly at you from the coffee table.

Dads best friend - Jon Bernthal
Jon Bernthal x Y/N
Summary: "I'm not a little girl anymore."
Word count: 1.3k
Jon had been my father's best friend for as long as I could remember.
At forty-nine, he looked like the kind of man people instinctively made room for.
Six-foot-one, broad shoulders, a body built by decades of hard work rather than vanity. His dark hair was kept short, streaked with silver at the temples, and his salt-and-pepper beard only made him look more distinguished. His nose had the unmistakable bend of someone who'd broken it more than once, and his deep brown eyes carried a quiet intensity that could make anyone lose their train of thought. Tattoos disappeared beneath the sleeves of his faded black T-shirt, a worn silver chain rested against his chest, and an old watchโone he'd worn for as long as I could rememberโnever left his wrist.
He wasn't polished.
He wasn't effortless.
He was rough around the edges, all calloused hands, crooked smiles, faded scars, and the kind of quiet confidence that couldn't be taught.
The kind of man who never had to raise his voice to command a room.
The kind of man you noticed the second he walked in.
There wasn't a single childhood memory that didn't somehow include him.
He was there when I learned how to ride a bike, jogging behind me with one hand on the seat until I finally found my balance.
He cleaned every scraped knee after I fell from trees I swore I could climb.
He showed up to every birthday party, every Fourth of July barbecue, every Christmas morning with a wrapped gift that somehow always became my favorite.
He watched me grow up.
To him...
I was always just the kid.
But somewhere along the way...
I stopped looking at him like my father's best friend.
And started looking at him like a man.
A man I had absolutely no business falling for.
I was twenty.
He was forty-nine.
Twenty-nine years separated us.
He'd practically watched me grow up.
He was my dad's best friend.
Every reason in the world told me this could never happen.
None of them stopped my heart from racing whenever he smiled at me.
So I did what any normal twenty-year-old girl would do.
I dated boys my own age.
College guys.
Athletes.
Guys my friends insisted were "perfect."
Jon hated every single one of them.
"He's immature."
"He doesn't listen when you talk."
"That kid doesn't know how to treat you."
"He's gonna break your heart."
There was always an excuse.
Always another reason why none of them were good enough.
Dad would laugh every time, shaking his head.
"You're too damn protective, Jon."
Jon would only shrug.
"Someone's gotta be."
I believed him.
Until that summer night.
The barbecue had ended hours ago. My parents were inside cleaning up, laughter drifting through the open kitchen windows while crickets filled the silence outside.
Jon stood beside his truck with a beer in one hand, staring at the fading sunset as if it held answers to questions neither of us wanted to ask.
I walked toward him.
He looked up.
The smallest smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Hey, kid."
I stopped.
Crossed my arms.
My patience snapped.
"Can you stop calling me kid?" I asked, frustration spilling into my voice. "I'm not a little girl anymore."
Silence.
For the first time in years...
Jon didn't answer.
His eyes stayed on mine before slowly wandering over my face.
My shoulders.
My waist.
Then back to my eyes.
Not in a disrespectful way.
Not like the boys my age used to.
He looked at me like he was seeing me for the first time.
Like he was finally allowing himself to acknowledge something he'd spent years trying to bury.
I wasn't twelve anymore.
I wasn't sixteen.
I wasn't the little girl who used to climb onto his shoulders to watch fireworks.
I was twenty years old.
A woman.
"I know, little bird," he said quietly.
His voice had dropped almost to a whisper.
He stepped closer, carefully brushing a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
His fingertips lingered against my cheek.
Long enough for my pulse to betray me.
"Then why do you keep calling me that?" I whispered.
His jaw tightened.
His dark eyes searched mine, full of guilt.
Of restraint.
Of something he'd spent years pretending didn't exist.
She's twenty.
You're forty-nine.
She's your best friend's daughter.
Don't do this.
He'd repeated those words to himself more times than he could count.
He hated every boyfriend I'd ever brought home.
Not because they weren't good enough.
Because they weren't him.
He remembered every birthday.
Every late-night phone call asking for help.
Every time I cried.
Every hug that lasted a second longer than it should have.
He'd spent years convincing himself it was just loyalty.
Just protectiveness.
Just habit.
It wasn't.
It had never been.
A quiet, defeated chuckle escaped him.
He took one final step forward until my back met the wall behind me.
One hand rested beside my head.
The other hovered uncertainly before settling against my waist with heartbreaking hesitation.
Like he still wasn't sure he was allowed to touch me.
His forehead almost brushed mine.
I could feel his breath.
Warm.
Uneven.
"So then..." I whispered. "Why?"
His eyes fluttered closed for a second.
As if surrendering.
When he looked at me again, every wall he'd built over the years had cracks running through it.
"Because..." he murmured, his voice rough enough to make my knees weak.
The words hung between us.
"โฆBecause I can't call you my wife yet."
For a heartbeat, the world went quiet.
The laughter coming from inside the house faded into nothing.
It was just him.
Just me.
Just the impossible space between us.
I searched his face, waiting for him to laugh, to tell me he was joking.
He didn't.
His eyes never left mine.
Slowlyโฆ almost against his own willโฆ his gaze drifted to my lips.
The muscles in his jaw tightened.
His hand, still resting lightly against my waist, flexed once before relaxing again, as if he were reminding himself not to hold me any closer.
"You have no idea what you're doing to me," he said quietly.
His voice was rough.
Almost tired.
I swallowed.
"Then tell me."
A humorless smile crossed his face.
"I can't."
"Because of my dad?"
His eyes closed for a brief second.
"Because if I start talkingโฆ" he murmured, "โฆI'm not sure I'll know where to stop."
The air between us felt unbearably thin.
I could hear his breathing.
Slow.
Controlled.
Like every inhale was a conscious decision.
I took half a step closer.
His gaze snapped back to mine.
"Little birdโฆ"
The nickname sounded different this time.
Softer.
Like it belonged to something neither of us could pretend not to feel anymore.
"I asked you to stop calling me that."
"I know."
"But you did it anyway."
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"Because if I stopโฆ"
He leaned in just enough that I could feel the warmth of his breath against my cheek.
"โฆI'll start calling you the way I think about you."
Every nerve in my body came alive.
Neither of us moved.
Neither of us dared.
His forehead nearly brushed mine, close enough that one more inch would erase every line he'd spent years refusing to cross.
Instead, he let out a slow breath and gave the smallest shake of his head.
"You're trouble," he whispered.
"Noโฆ"
His eyes lingered on mine one last time.
"โฆyou're temptation."
For one dangerous second, it looked like he was going to close the distance.
Instead, he stepped back.
A single step.
Enough to put air between us again.
Enough to remember whose house we were standing outside.
He let out a quiet laugh, more at himself than at me.
"Go inside before I forget every reason I ever had to stay away from you."
Then he turned toward his truck.
He didn't look back.
He couldn't.
Because if he didโฆ
He wasn't sure he'd leave at all
I have to admit... the nickname "little bird" is only there because Jon has "Lil Bird" tattooed on his chest, and I may have found that a little... too attractive.
I need Frank Castle biblically, physically and mentally.
getting fucked by frank castle while peter is in the other room

frankโs rough and and calloused hands grip your hips so tight heโs probably leaving little red marks, pulling you flush against him. "missed this," he growls, his voice a low rumble against your throat. he hasnโt shaved in two days so his stubble scrape your skin as he mouths a trail up to your ear. "missed you."
oh you know peter's in the next room, probably hunched over his laptop, but frank doesn't seem to give a fuck or maybe he does. his fingers work their way under your shirt, tracing the waistband of your jeans before popping the button open.
"frank," you breathe out, a half-hearted protest. "peter's..."
"then you better be quiet, baby," he murmurs, nipping at your earlobe. "you don't want him to hear you, do you?"
he doesn't wait for an answer, just walks you backward into the bedroom, kicking the door shut behind him. his shirt is off in one fluid motion, revealing the hard planes of his chest, the scattered scars you've traced with your tongue a hundred times. he strips you until youโre fully naked, his hands knowing every curve of your body.
he pushes you onto the bed, following you down. his mouth is on yours, hungry and so demanding, one hand pinning your wrists above your head while the other traces the line of your thigh, higher and higher until his fingers find your pussy, wet and ready.
"soaked already," he grunts against your lips. "all this for me?" his thumb circles your clit, a deliberate torture that has your hips bucking up to meet his hand. "or you thinking about our guest in the other room?"
you shake your head, but a whimper escapes your lips as he slides two fingers inside you, curling them just right. he works you open, scissoring his fingers, stretching you, preparing you for what's to come. his mouth finds your nipple, teeth grazing the sensitive peak before soothing it with his tongue.
"frank, please," you gasp, arching into his touch.
"please what, baby? use your words."
you can't form a coherent response as he withdraws his fingers, positioning himself between your legs. he runs the head of his cock through your folds, teasing, coating himself in your arousal before pressing against your entrance.
he pushes in slowly, letting you feel every thick inch as he stretches you open. the burn is a mix of pleasure and pain as he fills you completely. when he's fully seated, he pauses, giving you a moment to adjust before pulling out almost completely and thrusting back in. you can't help the loud moan that escapes your lips. frank immediately covers your mouth with his hand, his eyes dark with warning.
"shhh," he commands, his hips beginning to move in a steady rhythm. "what did i tell you about being quiet?"
but you really can't help itโevery thrust draws another sound from your throat, muffled by his palm. when a particularly loud whimper escapes, frank's eyes narrow. "dirty girl," he grunts, pushing your head into the pillow with his other hand. "getting off on the thought of peter hearing us, aren't you? you want him to know what we're doing in here?"
you shake your head, but your body betrays you, clenching around him at his words. frank chuckles darkly. "liar. should we invite him next time? let him watch how you fall apart when i'm inside you? maybe that's what you really want."
his words send a fresh wave of arousal through you, and despite yourself, you moan louder against his hand. he adjusts his angle, hitting that perfect spot inside you with every thrust, and you see stars behind your closed eyes. the sounds of skin against skin fill the room, mixed with your muffled cries and frank's grunts. just as you're reaching your peak, a knock sounds at the bedroom door.
"heyโeverything okay in there?" peter's voice calls through the wood. "i heard... noises."
frank doesn't stop, if anything, his hips snap harder. heโs smirking down at you as he whispers, "answer him. be a good girl and tell your friend you're fine."
you try, you really do. you attempt to form the words but all that comes out is a muffled, high-pitched keen as he grinds his hips, the coarse hair at his base rubbing against your sensitive clit. the sound is pathetic and utterly betraying.
frank's smile is sharp against your skin. he chuckles, a sound that vibrates through his chest and into yours. "yeah, he's not buying that.โ he shifts his weight, grabbing your thigh and hitching it higher on his hip, changing the angle. the new position has him impossibly deeper, the head of his cock kissing your cervix with every thrust.
"one more chance," frank says, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. he leans down, his lips brushing your ear. "or i'll open the door myself and show him exactly why you can't speak right now."
"we're fine!" you manage to call out.
frank stills for a fraction of a second, a mocking chuckle rumbling in his chest as he feels your walls pulse around him. he pulls back just enough to look you in the eye, his gaze amused. "oh, you liked that, didn't you?" he murmurs, his voice low. "almost got caught. got your little pussy all tight around me."
there's a beat of silence from the other side of the door.
"oh. okay," peter says, his voice suddenly little awkward. "sorry to bother you."
you hear his footsteps retreat, the floorboards creaking as he walks away down the hall. the moment he's gone, frank's smirk widens. "so responsive," he growls, his hips starting to move again, slower this time, more deliberate. "getting off on almost getting caught. what a dirty girl you are."
he picks up the pace again, his thrusts becoming harder. frank's hand moves from your hip to your clit, his fingers rubbing tight circles, pushing you closer to the edge.
"that's it, baby," he growls, his voice strained with effort. "let go."
your body arches, a silent scream tearing from your throat as your orgasm crashes over you. your walls clamp down around him, a rhythmic pulsing that you can't control. your body shakes, waves of pleasure so intense they border on pain.
"fuck," frank groans, feeling you spasm around him. he buries his face in your neck, his own rhythm becoming erratic, his thrusts shallow and fast. with a guttural groan, he follows you over the edge, his hips stuttering as he spills inside you. he collapses on top of you, his heavy weight pinning you to the mattress, both of you panting and slick with sweat.
"next time," frank murmurs against your skin after a moment. "we invite him to watch or to join us."
I CAN'T EVEN BREATH ANYMORE

โWhat the fuck do you think youโre doinโ?โ
His voice startled you, making you turn around. You were currently walking home from a friendโs party. It was a cold October night, and you were only dressed in a short dress and tights. The jacket around your shoulders wasnโt doing much to help with the cold either.
You rolled your eyes and turned back around, continuing to walk down the street. Frank pulled up next to you, matching your pace.
โHey, Iโm talkinโ to you.โ
โFuck off, Frank. Iโm not a kid anymore.โ
โYou sure act like one.โ
OH PLEASE DO THIS TO ME LIKE RN
I get SO ANNOYED now that Frank showed up in the Spider-Man movie and suddenly thousands of people became "fans" without ever watching the show or knowing anything about him. He's MY MAN. Please let him stay a niche character. ๐ญ
Cโmon, babyโฆ put that gorgeous mustache right between my thighs.
I went to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Frank looked so damn fine. Thereโs this one specific scene where heโs wearing a watch on his wrist...
GOD, HE LOOKED SO FUCKING GOOD.
Having a crush on jon bernthal:
He's a grumpy man, but somehow, you're the only one who can make him smile.
