@areyoumisled
clears throat,, hi everyone!! i’m maya. i’m 18, from the est timezone, and i’ve embarrassed myself multiple times in less than 24 hours. but i’m really happy to be here. it’s been awhile since i’ve felt this excited about a rpg. and swear to you that i’m not as “peppy” (although being peppy ain’t a bad thing at all) as i may seem rn. anyways, enough about me!! here is my strong bbygirl, jasmine
// tw: eating disorder, bullying
around the release of aladdin, her mother was already eight months pregnant. her mother fell in love with the movie; the visuals, music, characters amazed her but jasmine stood out the most to her. she saw herself in the princess.
she decided to name her firstborn,, yup you guessed it, jasmine!
lil baby jasmine grew up in her grandparents’ house until she turned one; her parents felt that they were finally financially stable to move elsewhere, so they moved to a city not so far away.
it was all fine until their landlord kicked them out for the lack of paying rent. they decided to stay at a couple of friends’ houses, hopping from one house to other, until they were back on their feet again and moved to manchester, just in time for the arrival of their newborn son
due to the constant moving, jasmine attended school later than most kids. she was noticeably quiet, and often hung out with the teachers instead of her classmates. she remained the same, until year 5.
“the cool kids,” let’s say, they took advantage of her personality and bullied her about her body, knowing that she wouldn’t be able to defend herself.
jasmine believed the harmful words that they repeated, it echoed in her mind constantly. she attempted to ignore them, but there were too many thoughts.
**trigger warning** she stopped eating altogether, a casual fruit there but mostly water. she focused on her image now than ever, consistently critiquing every detail of her body. she changed her appearance completely, begging her mom to dye her hair a lighter shade and to wear makeup.
she finally felt like she belonged, that she could fit in with her peers. it was a shock to her, and to her parents when she was diagnosed with an eating disorder. she didn’t understand it.
she slowly returned to eating 3 meals a day. not only was it a struggle to return to regular eating habits, but to conquer her unhealthy mindset.
when she was old enough, she packed her bags and moved to brighton. she needed a new life. manchester just reminded her of painful memories.
hi!! i just wanted to tell y'all that i’m still alive. i’m gonna be kinda busy today but as soon as i get home, i’ll post an intro and reply to some starters
