they made my girl a goddamn macguffin.

Nile was absolutely 100% a total badass from start to finish! and that was so much fun to watch!

but what made the first movie so special was what a layered well-drawn character Nile is. in the sequel it's like her whole interiority got flattened down to just "smart badass who's worried about Andy". that's all this movie had time for her to be.

yeah, Andy's going through a lot, ask her how she's really doing! hey movie, maybe also have Andy ask NILE how SHE's doing?? or maybe have Booker, who connected so closely with Nile in the first movie, check in on her once they're reunited? maybe have him interact with her in any way beyond to use her in her macguffin capacity?????

I thought they might go somewhere with Nile's flinch when Discord reveals she knows Nile hasn't been in contact with her family. I thought they'd show us SOMETHING of how Nile's been coping in the 6 months since her whole life blew apart and she had to rebuild everything from scratch.

this stoic leader who always has the brain cell and is always thinking about other people? who the movie doesn't bother to have Tuah tell about the ability that's turned her into a plot device? THIS IS SOME BULLSHIT.
