because you have to know exactly what you want otherwise youre immediately very overwhelmed and its easy to pass over stuff in favor of something better but also it's a hunt. you have to work to find the perfect 80k slowburn that has no typos and a palatable writing style.

but then. when you find the just right fic. you have won. i have read fics longer than full length novels in three days. there was a period where i would read a 20-40k every single night. im reading and writing more than i have in a long time, just because it's so fun and engaging and i dont have to write fucking character descriptions
