Christmas Party 2021 Lincolnshire

I created the Christmas poster for Lincolnshire for the deaf events to celebrate the Christmas party. I also added their company logo and sponsor. I liked the Christmas bells around the top borders and snowflakes because it looks fun and exciting. I have an idea of the Christmas balls with images looks exhilarating.

Driving Theory Workshop for Deaf People Every Week

I created the driving theory poster for Deaf people. The poster has to be simple but bold and eye-catching which appeals to deaf audiences who are interested in driving theory.

Reconnect & re-engage event

I got a Kickstart scheme Marketing Assistant role and I really enjoyed my work than previous training work. My job is the deaf community centre which I loved because there lots of mixed employers are lovely and welcoming. I felt comfortable working with deaf and hearing employers to embrace my communication and confidence. Also I am working alongside of the deaf line manager who worked for the posters, video editing and website design for the company.

This is my first design poster for the employers.

Corel Draw practice: AJ Pizza & Fish Part 2

My sixth design

I tried to use classic and traditional style which creates the Victorian style.

My seventh design

I tried to use title style to make it look flashy and cool like 80s movie style which intrigues customers to read the exciting food menus.

My eighth design

I used blue colour to make it more relaxed style to use the customers to read it and they reminds of the sea and ocean. I draw the yellow line of the title to create my own signature style make it look cool and trendy which I liked it.

My ninth design

The last design is to create the style of black grilled make it look bit tough and smokey.

CorelDraw Practice: AJ Fish and Pizza

At training, I used CorelDraw 8 to create the food menus for foreigners who works at the kebab house / fish and chips shops. Because many foreigners need their help to design their food menus daily for change prices, names of food and offers.

I personally feel it is not right for me at the workplace because the communication is difficult with foreigners. I felt pressured and hard to talk to the foreigners where I cannot understand what they are saying or not very good at English.

The business owners is harsh to the employers and clients. The business owners did not care about our health and work conditions.

The work environment is dysfunctional where there is no organised, unhealthy, lack of time management, lack of confidence and lots of arguments.

So, I decided to leave after one month because it is right for me and I found there have lots of communication barriers, lack of hygiene and there is no break for employers which is unfair for business owners.

Technique, material and processes

I used Corel Draw 2018 for the first time to train it for about 2 months to learn how to use tools to design the food menus.

My first design

I used to follow and copied the original food menu because I need to learn to use the tools and layouts.

My second design

I created the second version to use change bit of style, but it needs be more different style.

My third design

I designed the third version of original food menu is very different. I have changed the style; Baccarat font, texts boxes, add the image background, star shapes on offers, added the colours on pizza columns.

My fourth design

At fourth version, I used image background on the title, I used special brush strokes to paint on behind the title and text boxes to create like a cool and blistering flame.

My fifth design

At fifth version, I used comic fonts from all the layout to make it look relatable, changed the colours on the pizza menu, created the 'fish' logo onto the title.

Deaf Sammy Ahmed's English & Maths Tuition Logo

Research his idea of logo

The deaf client want a new logo for his online tuition and he aims for deaf young people at the age of 16-18, who are in education at schools and college. He wants maths symbols and alphabets like ABC to put middle of his logo. He also wants his name between the logo.

Technique, material and processes

First, the deaf client sent me a note of his smartphone to show his visual idea of his logo. I will design his process.

I used Adobe Illustrator is a tool for logos and typography.

I used tracking his name to make some more space at the bar of the logo.

I used tracing to add colour to maths symbols and alphabets.

I used the serif fonts to make it look more academic and educational because he wants to be a mentor to deaf people who need help to improve their grades and learning, and he is willing to teach them for the costs.

Business card ideas

Colour - I used red and white colour because it looked fresh and modern.

Style - the style is usually simple and clean for the business cards represents their professional identity of their role model.

Typography - I used sans serif fonts because it is young and easy to read their names.

Imagery - I had a idea for the client to use silhouette is make more identity of this person with more of his personality like as hair, eyebrows and glasses which infer of his real identity.

Rebranding BSL Assist Ltd Logo

Research the corporate identity of company

Background - BSL Assist Ltd is a deaf support company to provide support for the deaf people they need support with like British Sign Language interpreters, Sign Support English supports, notetakers and more other supports. BSL Assist Ltd established in Dudley, West Midlands in around 2014.

Target Audience - it aims at any age group for the deaf people as they need provide supports for their education, work experience and communication needs for the hearing people at schools, colleges, and the workplace.

Competition - this company have some competitions and similarities to BID Services, but BID Services is established in 1872 which is more than BSL Assist Ltd and is well-known for the deaf community in Birmingham.

Identify brand identity of her company

Colour - Logo is used red stars, light and dark blue for hand signs and a tree.

Typography - Logo is used for sans serif fonts for the professional and modern style to the deaf people who are in presents seeking their supports.

Style - Logo is used blue colour to show more professional...

Imagery - Logo is tend to be for the deaf community as they presents their hand signs for the deaf people using their official sign language with BSL (British Sign Language).

Mockup

I used the company sign mock up to show my rebranded logo design

After completing design of my rebrand logo, BSL Assist Ltd have been decided and the company have chosen this from other deaf graphic designer who created this.

I had their feedback about my rebrand logo is looked very good design, but they decided and something else of the logo as they are appealed to other logo.

HSBC Illustration: Jetbridge Advetising

Illustrate the international world for the travel passengers from the jet bridge underlining HSBC

At start, I used to follow the brief about the HSBC jet bridges they need to illustrate the international world from the passengers as they want to view and walk through the jet bridges.

my initial idea is to aim at Bangladeshi passengers because many Bangladeshi people travelling a lot for the summer vacation.

The reason I am doing for this because I have been to Bangladesh at many times to spent my family.

I used Adobe Illustrator is a great tool for illustrations and platforms for the jet bridges, has lots of painting techniques used in digital, easy to draw the line of the facial features.

I was inspired by the illustrator Julie Opie's illustrated portraits using dots on their eyes and noses is unique to portray their characters and digital portraits on their real life faces.

I used to designed the Bangladeshi buildings from Sylhet and Dhaka, Bangladesh.

I designed the backgrounds to create their work environment and sustainability of Bangladesh's farming lands, rural areas and care for their nature.

Their culture is care for family, rural areas, labour working, education for their career's dreams, supports the community to trade the fair wages like clothes, food and shelter they need to provide. Their food cruise is usually for rice and curries for their food dietary.

Mock-ups

I used the jet bridges as mock-ups to create the final masterpieces for my illustrations work to show them that I have designed and placed onto the wall of the jet bridges.

The things I need to improve is another design piece of another international world underlining HSBC.

I need more time to design another masterpieces in the future.

Create a coronavirus poster for homestayers.

This is for the art competition aims to homestayers to ensure they are staying at home and be safe from coronavirus.

This is similar to my previous annual report front cover for the public health and this is a great opportunity to create the posters aim to homestayers.

Posters

I create these posters via my smartphone app to edit posters with colours, typefaces, icons and layouts

I used a yellow colour that represents alerting, shocking and alarming.

Billboards

I used the billboard mock-up to promote people see this poster give the awareness of the covid-19 as they will be informed to stay at home and be safe or stay sane.

Glove Safety Poster Design Competition 2020

I am designing for the safety posters competition for the space people in the utopian future where they will find workplaces in outer space as they need to know the safe environment like the guidelines.

Read the brief first

I looked at their competition brief, I have to read the specifications that I have to follow the rules of poster sizes, typography, style, imagery and colour.

Research

I need to research first to support the ideas and identify the audience who worked at the space and how they react to the posters.

Sketch the poster for the idea generation of the safety posters

I used my pencil and biro pen to rough draw the ideas of the glove safety posters.

I also used some of the coloured felt tips to create moods and colour-coding.

I used a red colour shows alerting and cautious of danger.

Development work

I used Adobe Illustrator to create a poster and editing it.

I used the space backgrounds with white dots to create the stars that represent in space.

I also designed the astronaut, hands and thunder.

Walsall Council Public Health Annual Report 2020

When I start the final year of university, I am doing the final major projects for the RVJs (Research Visual Journal).

Walsall Council wants to aim for children and young people in public health on the annual report covers. So it would be a good opportunity for me to start the project.

Walsall Council has the presentation to show me the example of their annual report covers because they want to look updated and new ideas for the next covers.

At the start of the project, I must start research first about public health because I do not know what it is and what does it do with the public health.

I found out that the public health is for the general health on people's public places where they need a better life long, prevent diseases and lifestyle. (E.g. diet, health, exercise)

I also use the demographic to research the intended audience to find the contexts for children and young people to give the ideas of imagery, style, colour, character and typography.

Secondly, I start to draw my sketch paper to give the connotations of "public health", " medicines" and "healthy eating".

I used a pencil for simple rough drawings then use a fine liner to add the neat outlines.

I used some of the annotations on notes to give the details for some information relevant to the public health.

I draw the cartoon character aims for both children and young people who love to watch on tv, games and live video on YouTube as they find intriguing and animated people.

They love the visual image rather than some real live-action people as they find ordinary and mundane because they have no visual aids.

Thirdly, I started on the development work to create annual report covers for the public health.

I used Adobe Illustrator because it is easier to scan on my draft paper and trace it to the pixel images.

I added the colour and tone on their skin texture to make them look like people.

I used Comic Sans typeface for the title of the cover because they are readable for both children and young people who preferred the comic reading style.

I created the comic backgrounds for the dynamic style and trends for the audience as they find attractive and science fiction-like.

They may recognise shapes that relevant to particles, chromosomes, cells and DNA. It is because they know these from their school science projects.

I used the layouts to work out on title, characters and logos to make the right position of annual reports.

Lastly, the outcome needs to make adjustments and iterations.

When I completed the annual reports, I have to double-check everything because I do not make mistakes which cost me for the project and budgeting.

I have to print with CYMK colour for the clear version of prints.

I used the mounting on card paper make it look more presentable

In the final outcome, I designed the client's logotype with colourful mehndi patterns represent her branding identity and personality. The client is a textile designer to sell her products online. I also used design her t-shirt and mug.
