Instagram is my favorite, yet ugliest app on my phone. Why? Because with photo editing apps like Facetune that not only removes red eyes but can actually take someone from a size 12 to a 0, realistically, there’s going to be public figures that take advantage. Take the Hi Smile whitening paste. I can tell you now that those celebrities didn’t use that product. Or, if they did, it wasn’t the only one. They’re selling a fictionalized image of themselves that’s not benefiting the thousands of young people that they influence. Instead – I think that influence should come in self-acceptance and in owning wherever it is you are. I love my voice. I’ve sounded like this, since, I think second grade. It’s just how I talk. I could choose to get corrective surgery, or I can just be me. For every club photo, take one of you netflixing.
It’s unfortunate sometimes. Some people don’t really put as much thought into what their putting out as maybe they should. I’m sure I’m probably guilty of doing so at some point as well. But yeah -- you definitely can’t believe everything on Instagram or even Snapchat. People are gonna post what they want you to see, which is often only a small part of the bigger picture. Or just wanting to make it look better than it is. Half the time my pictures and videos are me chillin’ at home or in the car goofing around with friends. I just don’t care for the fake shit or trying to come off as having some perfect life. I’m the farthest from it, hah.
