COVID-19: Airborne Transmission
COVID-19 Is Transmitted Through Aerosols. We Have Enough Evidence, Now It Is Time to Act
Finally, a practical article about coronavirus transmission and ways to mitigate its spread - including best practices for staying healthy. (These are just excerpts.)
Also, this is the first Iâve read verification of aerosol / airborne COVID transmission - hugely important information.
TIME magazine article (free): X
Two articles referenced in this piece:
Oxford Academic journal article (free): âIt Is Time to Address Airborne Transmission of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)â
Science Direct article (free): âShort-range airborne route dominates exposure of respiratory infection during close contactâ
hey don't let the media tell you this election is already decided. it's exactly what they said in 2016 and we all remember how THAT worked out. 2020 could be a knife's edge election, and 18-24 year olds could easily be the deciding voice. please register to vote. think about the people that might not survive another four years of this.
Iâve never seen it so concisely defined.
âwhite nationalists murdering people will never be called terrorism in America because terrorism implies its a threat to the state apparatus but white nationalist violence only reenforces the state apparatus in Americaâ
Screaming .. what
This person thinking a $200-300 bag means youâre the 1%
yeah
I'm sitting here boggling at the idea of spending more than $30 on a purse, when i could put that money towards so many other things.
$300 is pricey for a bag, but Iâve spent more than that on video games, so itâs hard for me to be judgey about it. Theyâre good sized bags, with a simple design that you could wear with a ton of stuff and wonât go out of style quickly. If theyâre really good quality, they could outlast a number of my cheapo bags, since I go through a few of those a year (when I left the house). You would definitely have to have the money up front, though. (Hello, Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness.) The designer is Liberian-American, though, so youâd be supporting a Black-owned business.
But I havenât seen any mention of this brand before, memes or no, so why has this suddenly shown up on Tumblr? Especially since itâs pretty low priced compared to a lot of designer names. Let me google!Â
Ah. AOC bought a somewhat pricey, but practical, designer name bag, supporting a Black immigrant both directly and by providing publicity for his business. Suddenly, a post appears on Tumblr encouraging socialist and communist-leaning people to hate people carrying this particular designer name bag.Â
Sheâs up for reelection in two months.
This is what propaganda looks like.
âbut do you really think Biden is better thanââ YES YOU STUPID FUCKS, YES, I REALLY REALLY THINK THAT A MARGINALLY LEFT-WING MOSTLY LAW-ABIDING ADMINISTRATION IS A BETTER OPTION THAN KEEPING THE CURRENT OPENLY CRIMINAL FASCIST ORGANIZATION IN POWER. YES I THINK AN INEPT BUT SLIGHTLY PROGRESSIVE EXECUTIVE BRANCH IS A BETTER OPTION THAN THE ADMINISTRATION THAT IS ACTIVELY MURDERING ITS CITIZENS WITH COVID, KIDNAPPING PROTESTERS, COMMITTING ELECTION FRAUD ON A MASSIVE SCALE, LOCKING CHILDREN IN CAGES, DESTROYING LIVES AND LITERALLY BRINGING BACK NAZIS. YES I REALLY DO THINK THERE IS A DIFFERENCE SHUT UP SHUT UP STOP TELLING PEOPLE NOT TO VOTE YOU STUPID STUPID FUCKS YOU ARE LITERALLY SIGNING US UP FOR 4 MORE YEARS OF TRUMP SHUUUUUUUUT UUUUPPP!!!!!
Here are policies Biden/Harris have supported, and what we could see in his presidency
Heathcare: a public option, increasing ObamaCare subsidies, lowering the price of prescription drugs, and regulating against surprise billing
Climate policy: a green new deal with a carbon tax, support for nuclear power, and $500 billion dollars a year in green spending, and rejoining the Paris Agreement, in order to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2035
Education: free Pre-K and more funding for K-12 schools, plus Bernieâs college tuition bill from the Senate, and providing student debt relief for lower income graduates
A $15 dollar minimum wage, which was a progressive staple back in 2016
Workerâs rights: mandating paid family leave, bringing back the Obama overtime rule that ensured millions of salaried workers would qualify for overtime pay, taking Californiaâs âABC standardâ nationwide to stop gig companies improperly categorizing their workers as independent contractors in order to deny them benefits, ending mandatory arbitration clauses, and more
Union policy: various pro union policies, like âcard checkâ, the House PRO Act (which gives workers more power in labor disputes, increases penalties on retaliation against unionization, would grant hundreds of thousands of workers collective bargaining rights they donât currently have, and would weaken âright to workâ laws), and defending public employee collective bargaining
Criminal justice reform: eliminating private prisons, cash bail, and sentencing disparities, eliminating the death penalty, and more. As well as banning choke holds, pushing more focus on deescalation, stopping the provision of police with military equipment, denying federal funding to problem police departments, reigning in qualified immunity, and other police reforms
Drug reform: legalizing medical marijuana, decriminalizing recreational marijuana, and scrapping federal convictions for mere possession. And with harder drugs, shifting away from mass incarceration, encouraging sending people who merely use various hard drugs to be directed to treatment instead of sent to prison
Immigration reform: giving DREAMers citizenship, ending the wall, ending deportations of non-felon undocumented immigrants, ending attacks on sanctuary cities
Tax reform: undoing Trumpâs tax cuts and implementing further tax increases on the wealthy
Increasing funding for infrastructure, with a $1.3 trillion plan, including spending on green infrastructure
Housing and Homelessness: a $640 billion plan to aid in housing, including subsidies to ensure that nobodyâs housing costs need to be more than 30% of their income, enacting Maxine Watersâ Ending Homelessness Act to provide $13 billion over 5 years to fight homelessness and build 400k new housing units for the homeless, and the Clyburn-Bennett eviction bill to provide aid for those facing eviction due to financial issues
Rebuilding our alliances, strengthening NATO and the San Francisco system, pulling away from Trumpâs belligerent stance on Iran, and ending Trumpâs disastrous trade wars
Elizabeth Warrenâs bankruptcy reform bill
$78 billion a year on caregiving for expanded childcare and homecare
The Equality Act for LGBT + rights, to outlaw discrimination
As well as the Supreme Court. If Trump gets to replace Breyer and RGB, then you can say goodbye to any progressive reform in the next few decades
When Sherry Johnson was eleven, she found one day that sheâs gonna marry a 20-year-old member of her church who had raped her. She became pregnant and in order to avoid investigation and criminal case, her family and church officials decided to make the girl a legal wife of this monster.
âMy mom asked me if I wanted to get married, and I said, âI donât know, what is marriage, how do I act like a wife?ââ Johnson remembers today, many years later. âShe said, âWell, I guess youâre just going to get married.ââÂ
However, her case is one of thousand cases of child marriage. According to statistics, children 16 and under are still being married in Florida at a rate of one every few days.
Johnson and her family also attended a conservative Pentecostal church and that other girls of a similar age periodically also married. One girl said when she was 10 she was raped by both a minister and a parishioner and later gave birth to a daughter. There were all documents confirming her and her childâs age, but still, the judge approved the marriage to end the rape investigation, telling her, âWhat we want is for you to get married.â
And nevertheless, America prefers to interfere in other countriesâ internal affairs, like in Syria, calling it âdefending freedomâ rather than to change statesâ laws and to protect American children from rape, coercion and molestation.Â
Today, Johnson is campaigning for a state law to stop underage marriage that has already become a norm in some states.
Please, help me to raise awareness to this issue. No one can remain indifferent to the problem of child molestation.Â
#StopChildMarriage #StopChildAbuse
Chris Christie refused to outlaw child marriage in New Jersey when he was governor. Until a few months ago 13 year olds could legally marry here. Fuck Republicans.
Just remember until women got the vote age of consent was like 8 years old. It was one of the first things women changed when they got the legal right to vote and represent themselves as human beings.
Look at those scratch marks. LOOK AT THEM. This was no misunderstanding. This person couldâve spoke a different language or not have the ability to speak at all and their message was still 100% clear and he 100% care only for what he wanted. Stop saying this BS. Stop joking about rape. Stop dismissing victims.
