“Kit.” The voice sounded as if it was coming from very far away. Not Ty’s voice, either. Kit felt as if ice had been injected into his veins, but he forced himself to roll over onto his back.

Ty was there, a silver knife in his hand. He ducked his head and started cutting away the rope around Kit’s waist. Hovering just behind him was Livvy, half-translucent, her hair floating around her as if she were underwater just as Kit had been.

“Kit, you have to get up,” she was saying. Kit had seen a lot of ghosts in his life, but never one as clearly panicked as Livvy was now. “They’re here, they followed you —“

The words echoed inside Kit’s head, all sound and no sense. Follow, follow, follow. He caught at Ty’s wrist just as the rope fell away.

I'm that type of romantic that actually was really touched about the small things about Colin "Last of the Romantics'' Bridgerton: - Colin defending her, telling her he loved her first and being silly just to make her laugh, happy to dance with her and make her feel beautiful and loved, already so excited that he acts like she's already Mrs. Bridgerton and once she actually is, he clearly loves saying "My wife", being happy to show her their home together; - Colin making sure their first time was good for her, making all about her pleasure and taking pleasure on her enjoyment, reassuring her all the way through and after ; - Colin not being able to pretend he's unhappy about marrying her, encouraging her to come to him at the altar. He was an emotional mess because he loves her and it showed, from his smile, dancing with her, to kissing her and caressing her face: - Colin repressing himself, trying not to sleep with her not because he doesn't love or desire her but because he is the type of guy that needs them to be perfectly connected for that, because that's how it was with her, he loves her and when they did make love it was a complete connection to him and anything less taints what they have, if he still has negative feelings and doubts, but being "weak" when she says i love you, his brain short-circuits and his heart and body acted; - Colin feeling lonely and admitting to himself that it was mostly because Pen didn't reply to his letters, him keeping her letters, and smiling to himself while he reads it; - Colin so heartbroken and sad and yet he is there, in their home, sleeping on that fucking couch but there, not on the streets making her feel insecure about his whereabouts; - Colin learning to love equally, accepting and respecting, admiring her, taking pleasure on her success, unafraid of confessing his feelings and his issues, letting himself be helped and loved back... Those are a few of the things that i love about Colin this season...yes, he lashed out unfairly sometimes, he was stubborn and had his ego bruised at times, but he learned and he never stopped trying to protect her, even if with the wrong approach at times. That, my friends, means to me way more than many sex scenes. But that's just me, i like the details, the in between the lines.

Ok, here's why I didn't have a problem with Colin in Part 2. He was processing so many emotions.

1. This man is so in love with Pen, has been by his own admission, for a long time that he was completely blindsided by her secret. Colin is unhinged with his love on good days. Their confrontation was heated, but his devastation more than his anger was the focus. He loves her, and she's been lying. So, he lashed out and said things he didn't even believe because he couldn't process his feelings.

He gets to feel this way, imo. Penelope of all people knows him best and what he was going through, which is why she was so gently firm and understanding with him.

2. Once he processed the lie, then came the feelings of fear for her and them if Lady Whistledown was unmasked. It's a big deal if not handled right. (Book made a point of this, too) She doesn't quite have that fear, which pisses him off because anything could happen to his wife, and Colin is not having that shit. So they fight, and she stops him cold with her yelling her love at him, which leads to heavy petting session and his beginning to thaw.

3. He honestly can not understand why Penelope loves him. This one is really his own self-worth, which he has been wrestling with his whole life, but he looks at her, this amazing woman who apparently is one of the most influential people and he cannot grasp why she loves him. He doesn't understand that she loves the bones of him and he is afraid she can't love him they way he does her.

4. He wants to be her hero so badly because she is his. He doesn't realize he already is by just being him because he has never been enough before.

5. He literally wants her always, and no matter how mad he is, that doesn't change, so he needs to reconcile that.

Imagine you are Colin and having to process all of this in the span of like a week? It's a lot, friends. It's why Pen gives him so much grace but forces him to confront those feelings.

From where I was sitting, they handled all that really well.

Magnus Bane says, “Show them something other than harshness, and you will receive something other than hate in return!” in CoHF when the Nephilim punish the Fair Folk for the war. Kit and Ash are both part faerie, part Shadowhunter, and thus will be uniquely tied to both worlds in TWP.

Ty says, "I keep asking, but no one will tell me anything” when asking about Kit’s whereabouts. His intelligence will change the Shadowhunter world, but for now he must grapple with the development of Livvy’s death and Kit’s absence. Livvy’s quote is her advice to Ty about him being the twinless twin. “You learn. I promise.”

Common theme with Kit’s powers

Do I know what the common theme is with Kit’s powers? No, I do not. Am I going to ramble for the entire post anyway? Yes, I will.

(And CC took down what she said and substitute it with an Ash answer. Why?)

This is a theory, but mostly I just recollected as much information as I could and hope someone finds this useful, so it’s LONG

(My first post about Kit’s magic, pre-GOTSM)

1. What do we know about Kit’s magic:

Few of his ancestors have manifested it before, save Auraline

It might have been triggered with the talent rune (He felt it burn when he first used them)

It may be connected or triggered with his emotions

It manifests in white light

Kit felt it like cold fire in his veins, electric

The first time he used them it made him fall to his knees from the force

It also drained him and he was ill for a few days

And it’s growing

I was talking to my partner yesterday, as I am known to do, and I could feel the theory forming in my head like Athenas kicking inside of Zeus' skull.

Why is it that, despite having been in very traumatic situations before (quite literally seeing his father die in front of him, for example), it's only with the Riders that his powers are known to have first manifested?

What changed in between those events?

The idea of it being the necromantic ritual that awakened Kit's powers isn't new, but the recent sobh installment has led me to wonder: what if, much like he did with Magnus' spell, Kit unknowingly powered the ritual by being in its proximity?

What if the ritual, sensing that its power source was corrupted, latched onto the nearest available source? And, by doing so, awakened it?

Maybe that's why the ritual worked at all instead of just blowing up in their faces. It wasn't a success, but Livy's back in some form, isn't she?

Kit isn't the tether, so it doesn't affect him as much as it does Ty. But I know I'm not the only one who wondered why, when he, again, literally saw his dad die- why does he only seem to have nightmares about the twins?

Maybe some part of him is still connected and attempting to warn him that something is wrong. Much like the dreams about rivers of blood.

Plus, what does Kit pick for Magnus to spell and send Ty as protection against the effects of the necromancy? The Herondale necklace.

Yes, it clearly symbolizes his Herondale heritage. But, above all, it symbolizes his last connection to Rosemary.

Who was, yes, his claim to Herondale blood- but also his claim to the First Heir's powers. The Herondale necklace was literally what she used to call Jem for help when the Riders found her.

In a way, Kit is stabilizing Ty with the closest thing he has to a symbol of his First Heir powers. Much like he might have accidentally done during the ritual.
