Which is funny, because when i started the drawing i didn't really know why i chose this flower other than it felt like Thorin and it called to me. Turns out it was incredibly fitting. I'll call it intuition

for thorin this means tapping the rings he’s wearing on the underside of the table he’s sitting at and for everyone else at the table it means looking around the room and wondering where the mouse is

honestly other than, ya know, pretty jewelry, i think thorin wears so many rings for stimming reasons. like if i wore rings i’d be constantly spinning them around my finger and using them to make sounds against other surfaces and clinking them together and bingo bongo fun bits of metal make brain go nyoom. he’s got the right idea.

Totally just adding on here without permission/kind of derailing but:

Thorin only truly feeling comfortable underground or in caves because of the reverberation.

Thorin needing to wear that jacket because it's heavy enough to keep him sane above ground ala weighted blanket. Maybe he sewed beads or metal into it to make it even heavier!

Thorin getting overwhelmed more easily above ground and that's why he comes across as "grumpy"

Thorin designing special fidget rings/bracelets/necklaces. Also having a special interest in metalworking in general.

Hopping on this because i absolutely love it and nothing scratches my brain more,

He finds a lot of comfort in nonverbal communication, thus sometimes the only response the company can get from him is in the form of grunts or hand signals

Man is a bit touch adverse, with the acception of a few occasions, he will usually sit or sleep a little further away from the others, cough...personal bagginsheild points this adds to the hug scene

I love love love that you mentioned things about his clothes because this is achingly true, i feel he would definitely have some staple comfort clothes that he will wear regardless if its like 1000 degrees outside

I also think he would get overwhelmed in intense social situations and would have to sit alone for a while to process things
