oh yes, politics were definitely a more fragile topic when it came to antonio these days. given the recent course of exhausting events, it’s no surprise the spaniard huffed in the slightest when gilbert brought the situation back to the table. “ yes, yes, and you know it well --- if it’s france we’re slighting, i’m always a happy advocate. ”
he mirrors the others posture, expression kept solid and stern. “ but, ah--- i’m sure the cortes will soon agree with my own stance. the election of the german nominee would only cause a chaos that we don’t need right now, don’t you think ? ”
&&. FINALLY AN UPDATE ABOUT THE LAST TWO(?) WEEKS.
ffff i haven’t been here and i’m really sorry for that. i’ve had a lot of assignments and projects as of late and will likely continue to have them until the end of the quarter in a few weeks. given that, i’m just going to say that replies will be limited to WEEKENDS ONLY now as i don’t really have time for anything else. i’m finding it hard to find my inspiration for both of my huns as of right now, so most of my activity will be on antonio until then. i’m also prepping myself for a mexico blog ! i’ll be launching her soon --- at the moment i’m in the process of researching, piecing her together, and generally just getting comfortable w/ her.
on a really important side note, i do know i owe quite a few replies and i’m just a tad lost. so, please LIKE THIS is i owe you anything at all !

Alice paused just behind him, slowing down before coming up on his side. “Seek to make me such, and you’ll regret the day the word ‘blasphemy’ ever left your lips.”
like a pillar he stands STILL and BOUND to the dirt, refuses to spare her a single glance as she walks about him --- dares not give her the slightest inkling that she provides him a threat. though hands still rest firmly at the hilt of his blade, attentive gleam intercepting jade hues whilst gentle clicks rolls off the edge of his tongue. “ label blasphemy ‘ freedom ’ all you like. the rest of us will acknowledge it for what it truly is ; madness. ”
a smug smirk no longer possesses his features, replaced by a stern curve of his brow which gives brief semblance to a disparaging man. he peers down slightly to look at her, feigned civility in his smile this time around. “ don’t pride yourself in thinking i’d cower when put against you, chica. regardless, i wouldn’t waste my time making you my territory when there are much greater things to aspire to across the seas. ” no lack of a snark tone rides along his words, turning his body in the slightest to face her more directly.

“ i’m not too fond of the more violent measures taken by some of my men in order to keep our colonies in line — even if the issue at hand is their TREASON to the crown. diplomacy is the best way of dealing things, i’ll have you know. the right words can sooth any rebellious child. but, there are times where even words cannot lay things to rest … you do what’s necessary to maintain the empire, and so their aggression is being treated accordingly. i have said and done things that i am not proud of these past years, but i don’t regret everything that i’d done to keep my state from crippling. it’s all we can do as nations.
