put this on my tombstone
Let’s visit a blast from the past, all the way back to 2012.
Except we’re going slightly further back.
We’re going to talk about The End. Pax Cybertronia.
When Cybertron was revitalized at the end of the Chaos story, at least two individuals got a very strange vision of the future, of Gorlam Prime as a Cybertronian home. Ironhide and Jhiaxus are the ones we know that got that vision.
Pax Cybertronia, Gorlam Prime, has been a kind of a very strange “plot hole” in the IDW comics, one that even Ironhide gripes about.
And then Gorlam Prime is destroyed, collapsing in on itself as the ore inside it attacked it after the Titan inside the planet was teleported away, holding a sample of said ore.
What can we really take out from it? That Shockwave machinations to recreate the universe into something without chaos was so great it altered the future? Or that the future is fluctuating and ever-changing and never set in stone no matter what?
Except that doesn’t seem to be true. The universe that the IDW works in seems to work with the predestination type of time travel. But if there is predestination thing happening, then how come there is no Gorlam Prime.
Let’s look at the clues we got from the “timey wimey” issue. (exRID #10). If Jhiaxus is working with Shockwave on creating a new universe that is without chaos, then why is Jhiaxus talking about Chaos now? What is destroying the planet they’re on, LV-117?
This does seem to point at the big bad that is known in some circles as the Chaos Bringer, as the planet is being torn apart and there are few things that we know that has that capability.
Except, let’s look at the following panels:
LV-117 was the world with the Time Ore. Jhiaxus’ words seem a bit too direct, giving rise to certain suspicion. And given that the whole issue can be summarized as “timey wimey”, we have a certain question that should be considered. What “Past” is Jhiaxus talking about?
LV-117 seems to still exist in the current time in the comics. We’ve at least heard no news about it. But Jhiaxus is saying this as the planet is being torn apart under the hot red glow of something. While Jhiaxus is talking about bringing Gorlam Prime from the past and into the Future,
Pax Cybertronia.
Optimus Prime follows Jhiaxus to Gorlam Prime, where he inadvertively does exactly what Jhiaxus expected him to do and resurrects the Titan, and Jhiaxus leaves him behind on Gorlam Prime as it is being torn apart.
Except, this is kind of an odd thing to say to someone as they’re about to die. And again we get this, Gorlam Prime is going to the future even as it is being destroyed.
What if that was literally what was happening? That the disintegration of the planet wasn’t actual disintegration or destruction of some sorts? What if this was the very alarming way to make a whole planet travel to the future, a planet that was in the slow process of forming the natives into a cybernetic race, a planet that was most likely also slowly transforming to accommodate them?
A planet that would be perfect for Cybertronian colonization.
I know that this doesn’t answers the initial question, what was destroying LV-117. But it is very clear from this that it wasn’t Shockwave and his attempt to recreate the universe. What is the Chaos Jhiaxus spoke of that couldn’t even begin to exist in Shockwave’s perfect world, and is it even connected to Gorlam Prime? Why does Jhiaxus want a true Matrix-Bearer in the future?

give them to me
No.
They're all mine.
