For au S1 happened and Vox captures Alastor in S2 and Tori is found trying to rescue him. When does Tori start thinking she missed something? She thinks they are enemies and Vox was gleeful seeing Adam almost kill Al. Why is Alastor absolutely sure Vox won''t kill him or go too far while he's helpless? Why is Vox so invested in arguing with Al, instead of disregarding him as not mattering now he's beaten? Is that Hurt under the jabs? V personal jabs. Feeling betrayed only comes from friends.
Lemme tell you, the moment Alastor and Vox forget Tori is in the same space and get into an argument that brings up old hurts and history, sheāll know. These two arenāt subtle and their unique flavor of tension would be pretty hard to not catch.
The fact that Vox is hellbent on making the environment as domestic as possible for āToriās sakeā doesnāt help.
Oh god, I wish. It wouldāve been so funny if Toriās good manners was what got her caught. But no. She took great pains to avoid him since he was an Overlord. Her shadowās movements were caught by the motion detection cameras since she was still new at moving independently with the shadows instead of just hopping into them and hitching a ride. Vox zapped over the sent a good shock, startling her out of it.
Wholesome thoughts time! Tori and Angel play dress up as bonding time. I just think itās so sweet cause Iām just thinking one day Angel had a really bad day at work and heās really depressed with self worth issues and so Tori seeing this and hatch up a plan by pretending to just want to play with her uncle Angel. And it just turns to this wholesome terapeutik session of Tori dressing up Angel as a pretty glittery pink princess, put a necklace on him with a tiara maybe a tiny bit of make up where each one of them Tori asked what Angel want and it ends Tori pulling Angel in front of the mirror and saying ālook how beautiful you areā Angel giggled nervously saying how itās bcs of Toriās help which she shook her head and says āit was easy making you beautiful bcs youāve always been beautiful from the start, i just wisuda you believed it as much as i doā which cause Angel to tear up abit and hugs Tori saying thank you softly. Bonus Husk walks in sees Angel and blushed abit but it was his mistake for walking in cause now Tori and Angel now want to dress him up (he gives, canāt resist Toriās doe eyes) and then they have a tema party with Fat nuggets in a tutu and tiara. I just think it would be so sweet of Tori help ini Angel regan his autonomy by making it each one of the things she put on Angel is his choice and helping his self esteem by showing him that his choices can be beautiful
Awh ā¤ļø Tori and Angel (and Fat Nuggets) playing dress up to cheer him up is such a cute scenario. I love it so much! Also lmao poor Husk he stood no chance. Heās getting fitted into that dress and hat.
The new dynamics make me laugh and worry in equal measure.
Tori's "move-in" to the tower isn't as organic as in the main story. She arrives suddenly, nothing is planned. Alastor needs mobility to take care of Tori, and while Tori knows how to behave, she still has the mentality of a child. She's frustrated because her plan didn't work, and while Alastor and Vox are arguing, Alastor asks them to let Tori go since she has nothing to do with this, and Vox berates him for never telling her he had a daughter while refusing to let her go.
Tori, meanwhile, is pouting on the sofa next to Valentino and Velvette, who are watching her curiously. Vel plays with Tori's hair and notices that Tori's curls are well cared for, they would be even better with the right hair products and Val wonders how she can be Vox's daughter, but everything is interrupted when Tori lets out a rumbling stomach sound, causing the little girl to blush with embarrassment.
Alastor and Vox decide to calm down, it's clear their plans will have to wait, as their priorities have now changed.
While an argument between Vox and Alastor would be an eventuality, Vox would actually keep Tori separate from her father in the beginning.
One reason is that he didnāt trust that Tori wouldnāt be able to get to Alastor and make a run for it. She managed to get this far on her own, whoās to say she wouldnāt be just as successful to get them both out if she managed to convince the Radio Demon to break his deal? Vox wasnāt going to risk it. Especially not when their daughterās doe eyes are so devastating. Alastor mustāve crumbled many times to them. (He didnāt, itās just Vox.)
The other reason is a little more petty. Since Alastor kept Tori away from Vox for so long, itās only right that Vox did the same. Alastor only knew about Tori being in the tower due to Voxās taunting. For once, Vox truly did have the upper hand. Of course, the argument about Voxās capability of parenting and the towerās readiness to host a child was brought up many times from Alastorās end, but Vox didnāt budge.
The only reason why Alastor wasnāt freaking out was because Tori had sent her Shadow to communicate what was happening behind closed doors - which was pretty much being babysat by the other Vees. Tori isnāt making it easy for them. Vox was lucky in the canon timeline. She had been on her best behavior and wanted him to like her. This Tori did not share the same sentiment.
Even so, Tori ends up charming her captors (i.e. her super evil aunt and uncle) in a way that a misbehaving and spicy kitten charms its human rescuers and they dogpile onto Vox to let her see Alastor. He tries to be stubborn but crumbles after one (1) guilt-trippy movie. (Itās Bambi and Tori made sure to ham up her reactions to That Scene - fear, hope, confusion, worry, dawning realization, horror, grief, crying for her Papa in that trembling, bleating voice with tears in her eyes.) Sheās dropped into Alastorās lap in minutes.
Vox compromises by moving the pair of them into his private living space so he can keep an eye on them at the same time. Itās a full time job so heās putting his Heaven plans on hold. Needless to say, the whole arrangement quickly shifts from captivity to domesticity lmao.

I know you arenāt going to expand beyond the canon of your Child of Divorce seriesā¦ but in the little āwhat ifā you have of if Vox didnāt discover Tori until season 2, I canāt help but imagine Vox finding Tori sneaking in to rescue Alastor via a rope from a ceiling and the two just awkwardly staring at one another as Tori is holding onto the rope midair (like, I know her actual plan would probably be better than that but itās just funny to picture in my mind, lol).

Tori creeping into the tower Ć la rope wouldāve been so cartoonishly hilarious. Alas, her solution was far less exciting and more of her sneaking in through other peopleās shadows (she started with Baxterās first before jumping through a variety of employees before she got to Ethan. Then, she somehow got into Voxās penthouse floor and just barely started to creep to where Alastor was before Vox caught her. He thought that Alastor was trying to pull a fast one on him and sent a shock. Tori, thankfully, was immune to Voxās attack and came out of it mostly surprised than anything. (Vox would feel horrible about it after.) Then, heād grab the back of her dress and haul her up to his face only for their eyes to meet.
Cue the shocked/horrified/awkward staring between the two as they come to grips about their parent-child connection.
I just wanted to know if you will be doing any deep-writing with this material in the future, similar with One-shots for epilogues post 'Child Of Divorce', like with the Allison/Twin Fawns AU.
Also, one thing that came to my mind recently, as I was watching an video analyses 'Alastor vs Sexual Assault', dissecting the scene where Vox had sex with Valentino in front of Alastor is sexual assault, and how the song 'Don't You Forget (Reprise)' can be seen as a whole sexual harrasment alegory towards Alastor, I wanted to know what Tori's reaction would be if she caught Vox doing those things and singing that song for Alastor, taking in consideration that she knows nothing about season 2 or it's songs. I mean, if you write Tori's 'rescue mission' attempt happening before/aftet Vox had the musical number, I'll understand, I just wanted to know if watching such a scene would impact way more Tori's view of Vox.
1. Like the other AUs, I will not be doing any deep writings of the Family Matters AU. I believe I mentioned it before, but any other writing projects that Iāll be tackling will be some oneshots for future events after āChild of Divorceā.
