Xehanort/Eraqus as a direct narrative parallel to Riku/Sora in which two people who care about each other are spurred by tragedy onto opposite sides of the light/dark divide, but where Sora and Riku find a way to meet at a middle point and move forward together, Eraqus and Xehanort kept pushing away until their views twisted into staunch extremism.

KH loves to do this kind of thematic mirroring. Y'all know how it loves its parallels. I'm gonna lose my mind.

in hindsight, growing up as an aromantic person who didn't know aromanticism was a thing...it woulda been really easy for me to assume that something was wrong with me, that I was "broken" or "missing" some piece of humanity.

luckily I was autistic, oblivious, and had a huge ego. it literally never occurred to me to frame it as a "me" problem. i just thought every single person i knew was a dumbass
