Hi.

I think it's about time I made an intro post. My name is Around Problems, you can call me one or the other, or even AP. I'm 22 y/o and I go by they/them.

I like drawing and talking about my favorite things and hyperfixations.

My current fandoms are Carmen Sandiego, Care Bears, Sonic The Hedgehog, Club Penguin. Might also share stuff from other fandoms. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

people who don't use or spend time on tumblr don't really understand how solid this place is for creatives and how we could be living in artist utopia if they fully undid the nsfw ban. the tag system? the dashboard? the silly anons who will send you the most insane sentences known to mankind? having your very old, shitty art make the rounds again because somebody finds value from it and wants to show their friends? no other place even comes close

Jetkie ramblings, but it’s actually just about them both being autistic:

At first the two of them did not get along, they were on completely different wavelengths. But overtime they realized they actually had a lot in common with each other, it just presented itself in different ways.

Both struggled with acting “different” than their peers.

Jet Pack Guy’s lack of expressiveness and flat tone of voice led other penguins to thinking he was intimidating or always annoyed with them. Rookie’s high energy and general demeanor drove others away due to them seeing it as childish, immature, or weird.

No matter how hard either of them tried, they never lived up to how everyone around them wanted them to act.

As the two got closer, subconsciously they recognized their similarities. They were able to get each other in a way the other agents couldn’t understand.

Rookie didn’t mind how JPG expressed himself at all, in fact he really liked it! “You’re just naturally cool!” Since Rookie struggled with social cues and JPG didn’t follow those cues, it ended up working out for them.

Jet Pack Guy grew to appreciate Rookie’s way of expressing himself to. JPG never had to guess what the other was thinking because of how expressive he was. And watching Rookie subtly stim by doing something like rocking on his heels became calming for Guy.

Eventually JPG got comfortable enough with Rookie to talk to him about aviation. Which Guy had limited himself from talking about due to other’s thinking his passion was weird. So when he shared sharing his special interest for the first time in years he was hella nervous. But Rookie absolutely loved it, he loved seeing the passion and love Guy had. He loved seeing Guy just be himself.

After they’ve been dating for a while both learned to pick up when the other is overstimulated, and/or are comfortable enough with each other to say when they are. They obviously have their differences and issues, but they work through it together. They’re partners after all.
