Maranouchi Calendar 2015 by UMA/design farm
The calendar was designed by the agency UMA/design farm and yu fukugawa was hired to create the illustrations. The calendar stood out to me due to its simplicity whilst also having a likeness to children’s story book due to the childish style of illustration.

Personal Branding for Derek Dubler
Pop is a personal branding project done by Derek Dubler. What i love about this design is its playful, as its similarly designed to a bubble wrap.

Illustrations by Joseph Veazey
The images shows a brochure produced for adult swim which was illustrated by Joseph Veazey. The way the brochure was designed, attached was a polarised 3d glasses. The purpose of this was to see the designed through the glasses, which makes the saturated colours look closer, and the less saturated colours recede creating the illusion of a 3 dimensional design. I was drawn to this design not only for playful function, but also to its beautiful art style.

Popup designs by Thomas Allen.
The series of images shows popup designs by Thomas Allen using front covers of vintage pulp books. He cuts the characters out of the books and displays to provide meaningful interactions between the cut out characters.
I found the artist really interesting as i loved how Allen was to exhibited an array of different human experiences using cuts out from pulp books.
Papercuts by Elsa Mora
These images are paper cuts by elsa mora and what i love about her work are intricacy, the use of overlapping colours makes each piece visually stand out.

Papercuts by Peter Callesen
Peter Callesen uses thin white paper to create his cut-outs. The series of images shows his ability for story telling through simple yet detailed scenic cuts outs.
My favourite piece was the “snowballs II” which contained cuts outs of a 3d house and snowballs. The simplicity of the paper cut in my opinion is truly effective as it provides a clear visual scenery.
Paper food flyers promoting Dutch Railways illustrated by Maria Laura Benavente
The set of images shows different flyer designs for Dutch Railways to invite travellers to eat breakfast or dine from going to work and back home.
I found the flyers very compelling, because of the use of paper art to recreate food playful; yet the combination of the art direction provided a dynamic and realistic approach to food.

Paperart for “Papercraft Design and Art with Paper” book cover illustrated by Sarah Illenberger, and photographed by Ragnar Schmuck
https://www.sarahillenberger.com
The series of images are illustrations and prints by Rhona Garvin. She specialises in creating editorial and brand identity commissions from her clients such as waitrose, guardian. However with the images i gathered are projects she’s done recently that is based more on children’s publication. What i love about her recent projects is how vibrant they all look and the different overlays of each colour, some done with screen printing.

Bespoke wallpaper designs by Claire Coles using free machine embroidery and appliqué.
I found Claire Coles technique fascinating, as i love how she translated collage into a different medium using fabrics. The use of free embroidery on the wallpaper creates an illustrative wallpaper design.
