The original games follow the same protagonist and the companions’s character arcs happen throughout BG1 to 2 which will probably won’t hit as hard if you don’t have any context on who’re you’re talking to lol

So if I am to understand you correctly, this means I should play BG1 first, yes?

Be warned that playing BG1 and BG2 will make you really dislike what they did with Viconia deVir

As a mega Dragon Age fan, I'm sadly already used to dealing with subsequent games doing previous game characters really dirty 😩

But yeah I've heard from a few people that BG3 Viconia was really bad in the context of her previous appearances.
