Gilmore raised a brow before flagging a hostess for another drink. Based on what she had said, he had suspicions about what this “delightful news” was. But he figured it would be kind regardless. “Feel free to order whatever you’d like, I’ll be picking up the tab tonight.”

He sat back in his seat and tilted his head in interest, “So, my dear, what is this  glorious announcement of yours? I take it this is why you came to visit me?”

She watches at the hostess comes over.  Smiling just slightly as he offered to take  over the bill. “Ever the sweetheart aren’t you?” Vex comments before ordering a small bite to eat. “Thank you.”

Once again she leans back into her chair.  “It was the reason, the announcement and a rather large question for you.” Vex’ahlia leans forward, taking a sip of her drink now delivered to her. “I am pregnant, and Percival and I wanted to  know if we could name him after you?”

  ❝ yeah, lulu’s real good at that. ❞ he gives the other elf a crooked grin, crossing his arms over his chest loosely. this was one of the first times he’d seen another pair of twins, so maybe it was as uncommon as the other seemed to think it was.  ❝ don’t think i caught your names? pretty sure lup didn’t either. ❞

  ❝ It’s not hard to take him. My brother  is very easily distracted. ❝ Vex sighs looking over to the male and eyeing  him slightly. ❝ I didn’t catch your name either, but I am Vex’ahlia that is Vax’ildan. ❝

“Well, I’d be lying if I said things had been easy. Simpler, perhaps, but never easy.”

In truth, very few members of Vox Machina had kept in touch. Perhaps it was for the better. Shaun was a bright and shining beacon of a time long passed. The greying merchant gestured to one of the empty seats in the booth for her to join him. He slid back into his own seat, hand resting on an already-emptied glass.

“But surely, things are far more exciting for you? How is dear Percival?”

“I think we would go insane if life  were easy Gilmore dear.” The  half-elf smiled at the shop keep. Offering a small smile and lacing  her fingers together, resting her elbows on the table as she took  a seat at the table. 

“Percy is rather.” She paused thinking about the proper word to describe her husband. “Ecstatic?  I just offered him some rather delightful news.”

“I’d never say no to some drinks but if you should be thanking anyone, it’d be your brother. I may have risked something but he put a lot on the line and even I’m not quite sure how that’s going to go down in the end…” He sighs, shaking his head. “Keep an eye on him, I know better than anyone that messing with deities is a dangerous path and one not too many leave in one piece.”

“Vax and I take care of ourselves, and  as much as I appreciate what you did  for me I would prefer not to be in debt  to you. Not that I mean any offence. It’s just how I’ve operated all these years.” She replied deciding to gently lay a hand  on the area between the cleric’s shoulders and lead him to the bar. “I’ll make sure he’s okay, he did it for me while we grew up, it’s  my turn now.”

“I was paying attention, it’s just difficult to yell across to you when you’ve strayed too far.” He leans on his sister, sighing softly. There wasn’t a scratch on him but he was certain his ribs were black and blue from an earlier hit. “I’m sure Grog would hand it over, but best to fuck with him.”

“I couldn’t get a shot from where I was Vax’ildan.” Her reply comes with  a long sigh, thankful she had the  time to bandage the wound from  earlier, though her pants now were rather ruined. “I know Grog would hand  it over to me because he saw my boobs last night.”

“Well, I guess twins aren’t as  uncommon as I believed.” Vex replies with a soft mumble, eyeing  the high elf in awkward stance.  “And since your sister has stolen  my brother I suppose we could talk.”

“Well, well, well… if it isn’t the Lady of Whitestone Castle! And visiting the common folk of Emon, no less~” Gilmore smiled from his usual booth in Howarth’s back area, motioning for a hostess to bring by another drink. He stood and greeted the female half-elf warmly, taking her hands and envolping them with his own. “Still as beautiful and graceful as ever. The years seem to have been treating you well.”

She smiles as she spots the dear shop  keep, moving over with grace that she   had perfected in her years of retirement.  Vex was craving some adventure, and  who better to stock her for battle than Shaun Gilmore. The man who always  had something she needed and wanted  for rather unbeatable prices. 

“Gilmore darling, it’s been too long. You look  great.” Vex’ahlia replied, offering her signature  wink as her hands were taken into his warm grasp. “Thank you, though I still believe you have me beat by miles in the looks department. How has life been for you?”
