And wasn't Kirby a game character? Yukari would probably know this information if she had bothered to play games when she was younger. 

"I guess...? I don't know anyone in this town, and it would be nice to not walk around alone. Just... don't try pulling anything funny, alright?" Yukari's wooden bow shook ever so slightly after her last comment.

It doesn't sound like a Japanese city to Yukari, but when you find yourself in a place that doesn't look even remotely familiar, making sure to know where you are is never a bad idea. Oh wait, this guy wanted to know Yukari's name, whatever. "Yukari Takeba. Have you always lived in this city?"
