[ ◈ ] Hazel eyes narrowed as he listened to the explanation about the Nyx’s appearance in the Hive City, Junpei was wondering why would some people consider it a cultist thing. But when the other continued with his speaking even the comment about white dudes made the Magician to raise a brow, Junpei was trying to figure out, The story he shares with the Nyx is like one of those hallmarks of his life story. It was an event of his life that forever changed him. He raised a brow before finally sighing quietly.

      “Fine, I’ll help here. What you need me to do?”

They were all rambling stuff about the end of the world and playing out collective suicides, what part of that is not cultist (from Samejima’s rather limited perspective, at least)?

“Pretty simple stuff, just move this rubble from here to there. Hopefully we should find the white dudes there and end this whole madness!” Ah, if only it was that easy...

            “Aah…this fella’s down for the count,” Nasubi observes in momentary pity. “He said you know him.”

            “I’ve never seen him in my entire afterlife! He must be mistaken,” Karauri argues, poking the man’s shoulder with his big toe, though he might have caught some mention of Hive City. “Unless…he’s from Citta. Even then that’s quite a stretch. I’d remember somebody that over-dramatic.”

            “I think he called you stupid. Should we punish him? And what’s Citta?” Karauri mulled over his questions. At least someone was being attentive and not passed out!              “No, we should probably take him to Enma-sama first. We don’t know if he’s a sinner yet.” He didn’t count on the other to remember that last question of his anyway. “We must make sure he gets a proper hearing. That’s how Hell works, remember?”

            “Yes sir! But what’s Citta?” 

            “J–just be quiet and help me lift him!” Now that was more like it…

Out of the count as he was, Samejima offered no resistance to Karauri and Nasubi’s carrying of him. Seriously, Karauri, that wouldn’t have happened if you had paid attention to him earlier. ...Or were you actually fooled by his Manlinator act at Cittaslam? Holy crap.

Well, huh... I don’t really have much to work here with an unconcious muse, so here. Go watch some Senyuu and have some fun, maybe invite some friends and stream it, anything to cover the time it should take for the onis to take Samejima to Emma.

[ ◈ ] With a raised brow, the Magician could only listen to the odd explanation about what they did in their fight against Nyx. So Nyx can reappear anytime or at any moment — kinda discouraging that he spent almost an entire year fighting along with his leader to seal it away in the first place only to get it able to reappear everywhere else. 

      “Man, well at least it’s not around right now because that’s kinda discouraging in a way. I mean, I spent a year fighting against that thing to keep it sealed. And just to find out that it can reappear….that’s kinda troubling.”

“If it helps, she only appeared once ever since I’ve been here and despite all the other chaotic situations we’ve been through, we never had another incident where people almost offed themselves in a crazy cultist manner, so she was probably beaten for good? I mean, I don’t think the white dudes would want to let everyone in the city to die like that, you know?”

Samejima had no idea of what sort of story Junpei had with Nyx and, to be honest, it doesn’t really matter right now. She’s gone and won’t appear ever again, so why even bother?

“Anyway, you gonna help here with your Persona or not?”

            Dopey eyes shift to Karauri’s tears, then the thug looking guy. Back to Karauri, thinking he’s sly. “I really want some cooked ham!”             “Yes. That smoked leg of a swine slick in meaty glaze…huh?” To be fair, Oni weren’t known for their smarts. Somehow Samejima’s response lost their hearts. Bending over in front of Karauri, Nasubi waved his butt as if he were some wild baboon. 

            “If I knew what a Japanese Ham Sandwich was, would I be amazed?” Giving the imbecile’s bottom his foot, Karauri huffed in disbelief at the little goon. 

            “I’m trying to concentrate. Now, where was it I’ve seen you before?”

“Didn’t I just say so before? You can’t get distracted while a man is talking to you, it’s unmanly!” Samejima protested over Karauri’s lack of attention. It was quite the... straight response?

Oh no. Oh no. Samejima... has pulled a tsukkomi!!!

“No way... I... I can’t be a tsukkomi!!!” So shocked he was that he fainted right in front of the onis, his whole body agonizing over the self inflicted poison to his nature. Woe is he, who’s burdened to never come with sensible comments unless he wishes to suffer like this.

That didn’t sound like anything that’d make sense. No matter how much you looked it seemed like a normal baby, other than being hatched from egg. Sekine soon concluded that he shouldn’t have asked anything. 

“ Well, I do hope they don’t belong to someone at least… “

“ … they do look like normal babies to me though…. “

He trailed off. Looking at her all too familiar familiar face kind of made him want to cry.

“ I dont… have anything for babies… “ he muttered.

“Well, that’d be kinda hard, considering that they look like mini us. Ummm, when could I have given someone a chance to get my DNA to clone me like that? And who’s the other parent?”

Samejima, are those really the questions you should be making here?

“You don’t? Well, then let’s go out and buy it! I think there’s a shop especialized in baby products I went to once. We should be able of getting some baby food and diapers there.” Samejima, why would such a shop be working in the middle of the apocalypse?

“What clues could there be for that?” Rei said, both baffled by his idea and high-strung over his behavior. “Unless she left a note for a roommate, there wouldn’t be one. The Great Sastuki Kiryuin would never leave a note!!” It seemed like some of his enthusiasm was contagious, if this wasn’t just the result of building anxiety.

It occurred to her then that she couldn’t remember giving him her name. Her appearance would be telling enough to the girl they were looking for, but not to the buffoons in the police force. As long as he didn’t find her—and she suspected he wouldn’t—she would be fine.

“You can stay here for as long as you like, I suppose. Just bear in mind that Lady Satsuki’s wrath is what you’ll face in the end.” Following her warning, she took a deep breath, held it, and exhaled as she turned to leave. Very Quickly.

“You know, stuff like a supermarket list or her agenda saying what she’s gonna do. That’s what detectives always check at stories, isn’t it right?” It’s actually a valid reasoning, but unfortunately he’s unable of actually finding anything in that regard.

As a man, however, he can’t give up! He’ll look through every nook and cranny, behind every curtain, below every furniture, until he finds something to help them! After all, Rei is depending on h-

“Welp, she’s gone? Now what’s even the point of me keeping with this?” So Samejima too took his leave. ....Without remembering to put Satsuki’s house back into place. She’s gonna have quite the surprise when she’s back...

In the hilarity of a situation that should have been taken a lot more seriously, it really was just a normal predicament for a place like this. The worst of it was probably that everyone had accepted it as thus, carrying on despite the collapse of the already chaotic society around them. (Was that a sort of jaded contrivance of its own..?)

“A-ah..! So you know about us? I’m apart of IDOLiSH7! But… it seems I’ve gotten stuck here away from the others… It’s a little inconvenient..” Flattered but quickly receding into a sheepish state of dismay, Riku was praying that he’d be able to get in contact with his group members at some point–if Riku was missing from his world, that was definitely going to cause some sort of uproar..–

“Did ya see any of the white dudes recently, dude?”

“White… dudes..? Pardon?”

“Uhhh, not actually. We have a few idol groups back home, but I’ve never heard of that one. Are there seven of you?” If so, that’s a kinda uncreative name. It also meant that Riku is missing at least 6 friends back home. How awful!

“Yea, the white dudes, the guys who brought us here and command the city, you know? They wear those white coars, that’s why I call them that. A few of them have disappeared and that’s why they can’t fix the city. Sucks bollocks, doesn’t it?”

“That’s why I’m looking for them! Any info ya can give will be pretty helpful for the cause of fixing Hive City!”

‘Right…’ so they were friends now? just another to add to the endless variety of people he’s seen so far in this place, though keeping track of each person had become a meaningless task as so many acted like entirely different people altogether. Nevertheless, the fewer people that threw up beside him the better it would be to tolerate this strange place.

‘…I guess so….’ fish was the least of his problems, he had seen a much larger beast prowling around that could potentially cause problems here, then again any concern for the safety of this place would mean putting a stop to a large number of people, and unfortunately he never intends to hunt down other humans.

‘…M…’ pausing for a moment as he recalled the room he had been staying, it was so different to any Inn he had been in during his journey, but it only made him miss his home so much more. Everything inside was far beyond anything he had seen in Inferia and even on Celestia, and no matter how much he tried he couldn’t make any sense of it all, did anyone else feel the same as he did?

As soon as Reid finished saying 'M-3', the two of them found themselves in front of said apartment. How convenient that Samejima can teleport via plot convenience!

"Here we are, my friend! It's been a long thread, but I guess it's time for us to end it in a friendly note. You now get to sleep and prepare yourself for any fight you might have to face tomorrow. Bye, man!"

Just as sudden as Samejima appeared, he was now gone, in true Samejima style.

            “That’s…stupid,” Nasubi’s club fell to his side and he clenches the handle tighter as Karauri spoke. “For something like that we’d destroy the entire balance of the afterlife!”             Despite himself, Nasubi giggled as if it were a joke. “Cool!”              …It earned him a clean bonk on the head. Before he could further scold, Karashi released an un-rodent-like roar instead. Braying in restored terror, Karauri hugged Nasubi for protection. Joining him were the surrounding attackers, each fleeing in unison.             The nerve. “GET BACK HERE!” The white punisher bellowed after them, chopping them in the distance just as they deserve. As quickly as they’d come, they were gone. All that remained in the desolate wasteland were the broken bodies of sinner feast, the guest of honor, and the two cattle of Obon.               Karauri released Nasubi and a deep sigh. On him, only fools would rely. “I can’t be scary at all, can I?”

            “Actually, you were really cool back there. Your friend too! If only the others weren’t busy in the office! Hozuki-sama would finally see more hope in you…” Somehow those words had the exact opposite effect. 

            “Don’t remind me! It makes it harder to get up every morning!” Huffing, Karauri wiped a globule from his eye, cringing at the aspect. He turned to face the redhead with his ridiculous banchou haircut and recalled his near meaningless sacrifice. 

            “Do…do I uh…know you from somewhere?” This person was a dumbass, but from a mortal perspective, what he’d done was more than nice. Perhaps some mortality still existed deep in the heart of the two. Sentimentality simmered deep, even for someone he barely knew.

"That's the proof it's gonna work! In stories like this, usually the solution implies in some huge ass sacrifice that might undo the natural order of things, but a man always finds a way to solve the problem and save everybody!" Samejima, why do you always pull the most chaotic solutions possible?

Thankfully, Karashi managed to solve the problem while they babbled, so no stupidly risky plan will be needed. At their victory, Samejima stands in a triumphant manly pose, even though he contributed almost nothing to this fight.

Oh, right, now is the time for proper greetings and friendship protocols. He tries recalling where he might have seen Karauri before. "Oh, I think I remember seeing you once! You were at the audience for one of my fights at Citta Slam, first line and all! How nice it is meeting a fan like this!"

[ ◈ ] Sighing a bit as he listened to the tale of the Nyx appearing in this city, Junpei couldn’t help but wonder why didn’t Nyx just wipe the city and its scientists that way no other person was sent here. He raised a brow as he was listening to the other male go on with his tale before asking quietly as if he was finding a hard time believing it but then again — it could possibly happen. He may not been in this city for long but stranger things have had happened. 

      “Oh? I hope you killed the Nyx because we sealed it so it can not be released again.”

You're sounding... quite morbid there, Junpei. Did something happen to you in another thread? Aren't you even gonna question the logistics behind Samejima's story? Like, what Nyx reappearing would imply at?

"To be honest... I don't really remember what happened back then. We started punching and kicking and some of us used magic spells... Then everything was over in a pretty anticlimactic way? I dunno, that event lasted so long it felt like the fight alone was taking months to advance, then nobody else posted about it and the city returned to normal. That happens a lot around here."

Never in his life had he been in such an exciting situation. Actually standing on the mount with his whole team… Juushimatsu didn’t really manage to say much through the energy he was brimming so instead he found himself practicing swings with the best of his vigor. Some teammates even joined into this practice…

By time they headed to the fielt something was a little off though. Initially it wasn’t visible in anything else than his breath going a little too harshly. Eventually they started gaining volume and turned into grunts and growls. Swings of his arms grew as he ripped holes into his outfit. 

“ bAAAAASEEEEEBAAAAAAALLLLLL !! “

Uh-oh, there’s the baseball man!

Anywhere else, Juushimatsu's transformation could have been enough to scare his teammates off. Fortunately, we're in comedy central, so anything is valid here!

One of his colleagues, for example, was dressed like some Mad Max version of an umpire, several spikes sprouting from his outfit. A guy from another team seemed to have more hair than body and said hair seemed to have life on its own. And in yet another team, one could see none other than Karaowski, the strongest woman in Hive City! Look, she's using a telephone pole as a baseball bat!

Yup, this screams Samejima all over the place.

"Okay then, I think it's been enough time." Samejima announced after the stipulated time was over. "Let's start the tournament now! Our first match is gonna be Team Yellow Balls-" Juushimatsu's team. "-vs Team Bloodied Bats! May the best players win!!!"

“Phew, that’s a relief.” Karamatsu takes notice of his… manly smile, and he can’t help but to return it with one of his own. 

Karamatsu blinked as the man pulled out a broken pocket watch, tilting his head to the side as he explained just exactly what it was. Though, truth be told - he had no idea why he was explaining something like that to him, especially since he had never even met the guy. But it’s okay, he supposed? Anime logic, probably. 

“A scaring cycle…” Karamatsu repeated, putting his fingers underneath his chin. He gave an intense look as he turned his attention back to the roof, watching the cat jump into the open window of the room he shared with his brothers.

“That could be what’s going on!” He snapped his fingers. “But let’s not keep the cycle going. What if I get scared so much I get a heart attack and die?” Oh, god..! He couldn’t even think of leaving his Karamatsu girls behind…!

The audience needs to know how come Samejima is still able of interacting with people at his normal energetic sense when usually people receiving such an impact would have probably broken a few bones and be in too much pain to do anything. We had smart watchers here, you know?

“Yes, that’d be terrible. A real man can’t let himself be domained by his fears like that. If there’s anything he’s afraid of, he’s gotta punch it!” By that logic, Karamatsu would have to punch the cat, Samejima. Do you really want Ichimatsu to eat him alive?

"Anyway, where are we, exactly? This place seems too modern to be my homeworld, but it's too colorful to be Hive City either. Plus, the gag aura is strong around here..."

He always hated when unreasonable people were correct. Arguing against nonsense was easy but when they were right it hit you harder than it’d with anyone else. Where did that fake breast bra come from anyway? 

Only now Sekine would take a look at the baby. It certainly looked like a normal one despite having come from an egg… 

“ … “ 

….that’s a familiar face pointing at him. It twisted his chest a little. That’s about the worst luck to happen. He wasn’t sure what to think. Being happy didn’t seem appropriate response  so instead there was discomfort. 

Still, he took even more careful hold on the baby now.

“ Um, do you… have a rough idea where these… came from? The eggs I mean… Is it common around here? “

"Nope, never saw this happening before!" Such was Samejima's direct reply. He arrived in Hive City a long time after the original egg baby incident. Of course he wouldn't know about it.

"It's certainly curious, though. Who puts eggs like these are birds (I'd know, I've diligently studied them for months now), but these babies ain't baby birds! Maybe this is the birth of a new species, containing the best attributes of both birds and human like beings?"

The prospect excited the man a lot. Imagine, a world full of bird/human hybrids. It'd be so cool!!

‘…’ if the sight wasn’t already bad enough, the sounds Samejima was making throughout it all was more than enough to make him start feeling a little queasy himself. But why did people feel it necessary to throw up so close to him? first Keele, then Chat and now Samejima, though he was thankful Max was capable of holding his alcohol otherwise he would have really attacked him.

‘…are you sure…?’ a rather pointless question in the end, after all from this situation alone he could tell that Samejima wasn’t exactly normal, though perhaps this was how other people in his world were like. Then again, would there really be a world where everyone was so obsessed with being manly?

‘…well I haven’t got any bait to use now, and finding more is going to take too much time…’

"Sure as pie! A man doesn't lie to his friends, after all!" To be fair, Reid, it's not the whole Senyuu world that's like this. At most, it's just the folks from Samejima's hometown. I think a whole world with Samejima like people would have imploded long ago from the sheer manliness.

"Then it's set! I'm sure that you can get plenty more fish tomorrow, dude. I can even help ya with it! As for now, though, a good night of sleep might help us. Where do you live?"

             Launching from behind the redhead’s wound, Karashi attacks from the paddle chained to her sling. Crunching bones and pulps of raw flesh snapped by the force of each swing. Karauri observed tensely the geyser of claret body broth, taking the taller male by either shoulder. It would heal quickly in the Hell realm, but so would their adversaries, angrier and bolder. 

            How the runty demon kept his overwhelming hatred under control was anybody’s guess. However, unlike his colleague, Karauri merely gnarred in distress, “Nasubi, stop playing with those reviving badgers and cover me! Quickly!”

            Foot pushing painfully against the contrary beast’s skull, Nasubi responds to Karauri’s sudden undaunted tone as if slaphappy. His new feline aggression falters, and the cloudy haired devil gallops closer uncertainly. “Yes sir! Cover Banchou-san!”             If he were satisfied with Nasubi’s cooperation, the equine did little to emote it; all seen by his expression was choler. He gingerly urged his guest to sit, striking a badger that dare cross him again with the center of both his hand and foot’s volar. 

            “Idiots! If you want something done right, you’ve got to do it yourself! This is Animal Torturer Hell, disperse your cult and feed on the sinners like you’re supposed to! Just because Hozuki-sama isn’t around doesn’t mean you’re on the top of the food chain, rodents! I will inform Enma-sama of this! Karma will bite back! Hozuki-sama isn’t gone forever, dumbasses!”             “Hey, Karauri, aren’t we technically rodents too? Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip an–ow! My gut!”

            “You too, muttonhead! Just because Hozuki-sama isn’t around doesn’t mean you can go around expressing your primitive desires!”

Thanks to both Hell’s properties and narrative convenience, it only takes about 5 minutes for Samejima to recover. Just in time, as he manages to punch a tanuki who was about to snatch Karashi with a crotch sack away. It’d be pretty gross, let’s be honest.

“Are we dealing with a monster respawning system here?” It’s a quite common thing in RPGs, so Samejima is familiar with the concept. At this rate, they’ll keep fighting forever and ever and, even if they level up a lot, they’ll never manage to escape from this. There’s only one way to stop this madness.

“That’s it! Everybody, we gotta destroy whatever is sustaining the reviving at this place! Then we’ll be able of beating these things for good! Karauri, Nasubi, you know where that can be found?” If such a thing even exists, Samejima. It’s unlikely that Hell has a convenient McGuffin item that keeps this system working. It’s quite possible that the only way your idea could be pulled off...

...Is if you destroyed hell itself.
