Just wanna put it out here that I don’t use this platform anymore, and I still do translation stuff on my personal blog! Right now I’m translating Shougakkou de Atta Kowai Hanashi Getsuyoubi (Shougakkowa for short) the visual novel, a spin-off to the Gakkowa series which is originally a school horror visual novel.

The main game, Gakkowa itself has been fantranslated by several people, but since this spin-off is an entirely different installment, it’s not necessary to know about Gakkowa and it can be enjoyed as a separate series.

This is already two-days old news... but I feel like I should still put this here.
Popup story has been scheduled for shut down as of October 31st 2017. Right now there are several in-game events planned until the game closes its server at the end of October, including a thank-you daily login campaign that’ll give you UR job ticket.
Below is just unimportant but related writings
It’s been 2 years since the game opened server... I can’t say I didn’t see this coming when they sped up the new students’ appearance this past year, and the event stories are somehow leading to closing, but seeing this actually happen for real still makes me sad... I haven’t been playing the game for several months, but there are times when I really enjoyed it.
I also feel like shit because I kind of promised an anon (and myself) I’d continue translating their character profiles and stories. I still have them in my drafts, but now that the game’s ending I don’t see any point in continuing them anymore... aaah writing about this just makes me even sadder than I was when the news was first announced ;__; (but seriously, if you people who still play or has interest in this game still exist out there, just give me a shoutout to continue the translation if you’re interested.)
I didn’t get to translate them (sadly I just skim them with my limited Japanese) ...but I did notice that the event stories are getting more interesting and closer to a climax the last time I played it. Big things are uncovered, and it’s not just about a bunch of students in a magical school anymore. It’ll be great if they continued or adapted the story into a comic or another media... It feels like such a waste of good story, characters, and writing to just throw it out the window after the game shuts down. At least, I hope they prepared a good ending to give the players closure.
I follow several people who are mainly Popsto cluster on twitter, I wonder what they’re gonna talk about after the game shuts down... plus, several of them are pretty upset that there’s a mini collaboration event with Schoolgirl Strikers, another one of SQE’s games, scheduled on early Oct. I never played it, but I heard the game systems are similar to Popsto, but that doesn’t mean they’re the same thing... I wish they could just dedicate the remaining time with Popsto characters.
Lastly, and most probably the least important, some of my current interests are games with micro and dying fandom such as this one. This news just made me realize, one day they’ll probably have to shut down too... and as awful as I am feeling right now, I might have to learn to get used to it.
Do you mind giving us a brief description of the cast? The one provided by iseyama isn't very specific for some of them, so if its not too much trouble I would really appreciate it!

Shindo Makoto
A guy who likes sports, any kind of sports. Will joke around while telling his story or try to scare you. That kind of guy. Also gets scared easily himself. Sakagami doesn’t seem to really have a problem with him.
Arai Shoji
A quiet, angsty guy. He either mumbles or shouts; he has no in-between. He seems to have a somewhat heroic personality, and that’s probably why he’s so antagonistic towards Kazama (my own theory). Sakagami seems to get along with him the best.
Kazama Nozomu
His hobbies seem to be messing with people and chasing girls. In general has a bad attitude but tries to make you think he’s a nice guy. This doesn’t work. Sakagami hates him so much that just being in the room alone with him gives you a bad end.
Iwashita Akemi
A yandere and a narcissist, she’s a girl who always speaks her mind. You don’t want to get on her bad side, but you don’t really want to be on her good side either. Has unfortunately taken a liking to Sakagami. The fandom calls her Ma-oh, or Demon Lord.
Hosoda Tomoharu
He’s pretty obsessed with making friends. And bathrooms. He has an excellent sixth sense and a some-what delusional, stalkerish personality. He’s basically a joke character (his name containing the character for “thin”). Poor guy.
Fukuzawa Reiko
An upbeat girl who jokes around a lot. She has a somewhat cruel sense of humor and tells terribly gorey stories. She’ll also often try to give you unsolicited life advice. Doesn’t seem to have any sort of relation to the supernatural like the others do. She’s just a regular crazy girl.
Sakagami Shuuichi
Your average quiet high school boy I guess. He’s the kind of guy who would rather read during break then talk with classmates. Has incredible self-preservation skills when backed into a corner. Hates everyone above (for good reason) unless stated otherwise.
