you pull the brush through your lover’s hair, watching as he plays a note through a leaf that had flown into his hands from the wind. he leans back into you, keeping while still keeping himself up just enough to enjoy the feeling of you brushing his hair. kazuha never really stayed in one place for long, so the both of you cherished these little moments where you were together.
after pulling the brush through one final time, you see it down next to you, leaning forward and wrapping your arms around his waist, leaning against his shoulder. kazuha places his hands atop yours, rubbing the backs of your hands with his thumbs. he hums when you press a gentle kiss to the side of his jaw, just underneath his ear.
“is everything alright, love?” he asks, tilting his head back to glance at your tired expression. you answer him with a nod, squeezing him closer to you. “mmm. just tired. missed you,” you mumble, feeling him lean back into your shoulder to look at the sky, watching the trees sway above you.
“you’re leaving in two days, right?” you ask, looking down at your intertwined hands.
“that’s right.”
“stay for longer?”
he looks over at you with a fond expression, laughing softly at your question. he could never say no to you.
he watched you twirl in the snow, your coat flowing out at the edges while your gloved hands reached out. you had asked to go with him while he painted, desperate to finally spend some time with him after having to spend so much time apart due to your own responsibilities.
and so there you both were on the mountain, a place with a chilling bite to those unprepared, somewhere beautiful if you managed to look past the harsh elements. it had begun to snow, but not like one of the normal blizzards, just flakes of swirl twirling to the ground.
he watched you twirl between the flakes, a peaceful, joyous look on your face as you spun, humming softly as you danced, the snow crunching under your boots. he watched his very own, one-of-a-kind beauty, completely entranced.
he was sitting at his canvas, sketching the scene in front of him, having you as the center piece. looking back at you for reference, he was caught staring, something warm, comforting catching his eye and holding it gently, soothing him and sending a gentle warmth through him, softening his blank expression considerably. he had felt the same way watching the snow for the first few times; only you could be as calming.
“bedo? you okay?” you called, after finally noticing how long he was staring, your eyebrows knitted together in concern.
“oh. yes, I’m fine, snowflake.” albedo says, a small smile crossing his face. “just enjoy the scenery.”
“snowflake? that’s new.”
“maybe, but I think it fits.”
“if you say so.”
you silently turned back to look up at the sky, and he eventually stood to join you. you two stood next to each other, interlocking your hands, heartbeats syncing.
you were his snowflake, his one of a kind beauty.

Gender neutral reader, platonic fluff, very slight angst in Foul Legacy's part
Characters: Ayato, Foul Legacy, Gorou, Tighnari, Rex Lapis (yes the dragon), Xiao
Ayato is insufferably smug about it from the moment he realises. He’ll waste no time in teasing you about it and commenting on the plush, though there’s a dark flicker of something in his eyes whenever he catches you contently snuggled up to it, or tucking it carefully into your bag for a long trip. It may take some reassurance that no, this little bundle of fluff isn’t as good as the real thing, until he warms to the idea, and eventually you may find little packages laid out addressed only to “The Junior Yashiro Commissioner.” that, when opened, reveal itty bitty clothes, hand-sewn by Thoma with the utmost care to match Ayato’s own day-to-day outfits. He also may incorporate the toy into his own routine, occasionally stealing it from you so that it can ‘complete its paperwork for the day’. He denies being in any way attached to the toy, but it’s hard to take his claims seriously when he’s got it sitting on his desk in a little chair belonging to Ayaka’s dolls, with a teeny tiny brush and paper in hand.
Though Foul Legacy doesn't entirely get it, he understands that the stuffed toy is of great importance to you. He holds it so delicately, like it's made of glass, so his claws won't shred it. He'll mimic the way you treat it, patting it on the head and chirping curiously at it, as if it's a living creature. It takes him a while to realise how much the toy actually resembles him - there’s a level of disconnect between him and his physical form, but the moment he finds out, he can’t seem to stop thinking about it. He wonders why you’d want a plush of (what he perceives to be) such a monster, but it seems to bring you a great deal of comfort, so he lets it slide, making sure to always be extra careful when he’s tucking it in next to you while you sleep. He finds a whisper of familiarity and comfort in the way you treat the plush that makes him think back to days long past in a small, seaside village, supplying his little siblings with various toys and watching them play.
Gorou is utterly embarrassed - his immediate response is to ask if the Guuji Yae put you up to this. He cannot fathom why you’d be carrying around other than it being some sort of ploy to mess with him. He encourages you to put it away, seemingly worried about any of the other soldiers seeing and potentially teasing him for it - it’s all in good fun, of course, but Gorou is more than a little shy at the best of times. He doesn’t really get it, and may pull you aside to ask you more questions, but there’s just something about it that doesn’t seem to click for him. Though, once he knows you’re being kind and genuine, and that the plush was a one-off commission and not some kind of mass-produced piece, he’s more inclined to allow it, though he’ll get all blushy whenever he thinks about it - he just can’t quite process the fact that you like him enough to own something like that. Even if his soldiers happen to catch on, they realise that there’s a boundary of sorts there, though they may donate little trinkets and tiny toy weapons to the ‘miniature general’ as a sort of good luck ritual before big battles.
Tighnari finds the plush one day when you accidentally leave it sitting out - his initial reaction is one of utter confusion as he wonders if his admirers have grown so bold that they’re now making merchandise of him on top of the trading cards that are circulating. The moment he picks it up and realises it’s drenched in your scent, he’s pleasantly surprised and more than a little flattered. The concept of comfort objects is quite familiar to him, and he takes care to place the toy exactly where he found it. He keeps a closer eye out in an attempt to catch you in the act, partially out of curiosity, but also a little because he likes the confidence boost he gains from it, and how embarrassed you seem to be about the whole situation, hiding the toy away whenever he comes near. If it’s ever brought up, he just kind of laughs it off, but the twitching of his ears reveals how endeared he is to this specific trait of yours. He may also try to find ways to subtly direct you towards Collei, who also has similar comfort objects of her own and can be pretty embarrassed about them at times - this may end up with both of you having cute little Tighnari plushies in your possession.
Rex Lapis takes it pretty well in stride, doesn’t even comment on it at first - after all, this is basically a form of worship, no? That is, until he realises that you treat the toy as a companion more than an item of reverence. He’s a little confused about it at first, watching as you walk about with the plush dragon tucked in your arms, chattering away to it. Eventually, he caves and rumbles out his questions about it, asking if this is meant to be some form of teasing or mockery and listening intently as you awkwardly try to fumble out an acceptable explanation. It takes him some time to grasp the concept that it’s simply an item of comfort to you, and even then he’s not entirely convinced it’s some kind of adeptal trick or machine brought to life somehow.
Xiao isn’t sure how to react. It’s not something you really chose to hide from him, considering his own outlandish habits, you figured he probably wouldn’t even care, but it seems that his fight or flight kicks in whenever he glimpses you with the plush that bears such a striking resemblance to him. His cheeks flush and his pointed ears tilt downwards as he crosses his arms over his chest and demands to see the toy, asking where you got it and why you have it. It’s not quite something he can wrap his head around - why would you want to have something that looks like him when you could just call his name and have the real him there in an instant? If he’s feeling particularly agitated that day, he may just pocket the toy and walk away with it - it’s not the first time he’s done something like that to one of your belongings, and you know it won’t be the last. Following him reveals that he tucks it away in a secluded corner of his nest amongst the high branches of Wangshu Inn, maybe even placing some other similar trinkets and scraps of fabric around it like an imitation of his own nest. He might just turn a blind eye if you happen to be brave enough to try and steal it back from him, though this may end up in an impromptu long-term game of ‘capture the flag’.

you hadn’t intended to ever hide your sickness from him, honestly
you woke up with the incoming feeling of what you assumed was a fever. your temperature was high and you felt fatigued
still, when your red haired boyfriend came prancing into your shared bedroom excitedly shaking your shoulders begging you to join him on his day off, you felt as though you couldn’t refuse
he was just so happy and you didn’t want to ruin that, not when he had been so stressed recently
walking around ritou with him seemed to be alright
the weather wasn’t bad and he even took you to a few shops for some lunch and souvenirs
but as the time passed, your head felt dizzier and your eyes stung a bit. the red of the maple trees was blending with the blue of the sky and the shops around began to spin
“are you okay?” he had asked worriedly, noticing your eyes began to droop and the overall fatigue you seemed to be experiencing
he put a hand to your forehead and noticed the burning sensation and light sweat building quickly
“shit, you’re sick? why didn’t you say anything?” he asked as he began to rush you home. his arms were around you, steadying you against him
“you were so excited,” you mumble against his shoulder, “i didn’t wanna ruin that, but it looks like i did anyway.”
the detective’s heart ached as the words left your mouth, he couldn’t believe you would say something like that, “please don’t say that again. your health matters way more than my fun, don’t ever forget that.”
when you got home, you fell asleep quickly, all snuggled up in the warm covers
heizou dimmed the lights and brought some medicine and water to place on the table next to you for when you woke up
as he got in the bed with you, he made sure to pull the blankets snuggly over you and bring you closer to his chest and placing a small kiss to your forehead
“i love you,” he whispered before shutting his eyes and holding you close.

thoma hadn’t asked you to help him with chores, but here you were…helping him with chores
although the weather was beautiful, it was spring and in influx of new leaves and all sorts of pollen was in the air and on the floors of the estate
you were kind enough to help your boyfriend out with all of the spring cleaning to prevent him from getting stressed
unfortunately, it only lead to you getting stressed and consequently sick
you had already felt the oncomings of sickness for the past week
from various headaches, lack of sleep, the inability to eat, all the way to a runny nose and sore throat — you knew it was only going to worsen, but still clung to the hope it was just spring allergies
still, you chose to help him anyway while also leaving out the details of your sickness
about two hours had passed since your last break before fatigue hit you hard. the rake you had been using to gather fallen flowers was now leaned against the wall
your arm was resting against the railing to balance yourself as you sat on the small set of stairs under the shade
“thoma,” you called out to him through shut eyes and rushed breaths, “i’m so sorry, i- i don’t think i can help you anymore.”
he ran to you almost instantly, dropping everything in his hands to check if you were okay
when he saw you weren’t, he rushed you inside to your guys’ shared room
“oh archons, i’m so sorry i didn’t notice! you really didn’t have to help me if you weren’t feeling good,” he apologized, urgently trying to help you
it was like that for hours after
he was constantly apologizing for not noticing and you could tell he truly felt bad
he even brought you fresh homemade soup and anything else you so desired. you name it, he got it
at the end of the day, he fell asleep alongside you, swearing to stay by you until you felt better.
he didn’t even care if he got sick. if it was for you, it was worth it

tighnari had been frustrated all week
you had noticed that almost instantaneously and even if you hadn’t, all of his grumbling, dark eye bags (which he never seemed to have), and the distance he was placing between you would have made it blatantly obvious
he didn’t seem himself as of late and that made you feel a bit down yourself
eventually it got to the point where his mood was dampening everyone else’s and you had fallen ill
the forest watcher was so stressed that he hadn’t even noticed
you had tried to tell him when he requested you help him with collecting samples of withered areas, but he was quick to shut you down before hearing you out, requesting that you, “please just help me without complaining.”
under normal circumstances, you would have told him off and not allowed him to dictate over you like that, but you weren’t feeling well at all and didn’t have the energy to argue
besides, it would only be an hour and a half right? you figured you could get through that
you should’ve known what you were getting into. your boyfriend always took longer than expected, though you hadn’t expected an hour and a half to turn into two, which then turned into three
when you realized the time, you began to ask to go home and just come back tomorrow. it was getting dark and was definitely a reasonable request of him
but tighnari wasn’t in the mood and he brushed you off, choosing not to answer your question
moments later, his equipment fell and broke — almost as if karma had struck him
he was never one to lose his cool so easily, but here he was yelling at nothing and kicking his bag over
when you had asked him to calm down, he refused and snapped at you too.
he didn’t mean it — you knew that, but you couldn’t help but feel like he did. like he meant to snap at you and that all his anger was somehow your fault
mixed with the fatigue and shivers from your now fully developed fever, your eyes drooped and you fell forward into unconsciousness
hours had passed before you awoke. but when you did, you found tighnari right by your side handing you a cup of water and some of his homemade medicine
“i’m so sorry,” he started quickly, stumbling over his words as he tried to apologize, “i was so selfish forcing you to go with me. i mean, what kind of boyfriend doesn’t even notice when their partner is sick?”
you cough before responding, “you were a little harsh, but it’s okay now. you were just stressed and no one was around to help you out when you needed it, so don’t feel too bad okay?”
he nodded sadly and fell against your lap, still guilt-stricken by his lack of awareness and clouded mind from just a mere few hours ago
he would take the next week off he decided. taking care of you was more important and he had a lot of making up to do
dottore:
you weren’t surprised the doctor had failed to recognize the fact that you were sick
while he was a doctor, he wasn’t one that cared for his patients or anyone besides himself
when he had called you to his lab early one morning to aid him in some lab work, you knew there was no chance of it ending well
you loved him, you really did, but your boyfriend was pushy. and when his mind was set on something, it became the most important thing to him
today he had asked for your assistance in his lab for whatever new experiment he had conjured up this time
initially, you refused as you weren’t feeling well and didn’t have the energy
but, as aforementioned, dottore is a stubborn man and wouldn’t take no for an answer
“dottore, i’m not feeling we—“ you tried to argue with him
“ah ah, i do not care what excuse you have this time. i need your help and only your help.”
he didn’t even hear you out
so you sucked it up and helped him
about an hour had passed when you began feeling strained
back and forth of reaching for different materials and finding information for him became too much
“can we just take a break?” you breathed out heavily, immune system weak from your sickness
“no, what did i tell you? it is imperative that we do not stop until this is finished,” he stops for a moment, tone softening as he turns to you, “i’ll take you out to that place you’ve been wanting to try later, i promise. just, help me with this and we can go.”
you smile at the offer, happy he was finally making the time to go out with you, but it wasn’t enough
as soon as he asked for the next object, your dizziness kicked in as your neck craned to see it up on the high shelves of his lab
and the next thing dottore heard was a thud with you on the ground
“dottore… i can’t— i’m so sorry,” tears pool at your eyes as your fever worsens
he helps you up with a stern look, his arms wrapped around yours as he pulls you closer to inspect your face, “why didn’t you tell me you were sick?”
“are you serious? i did tell you! you didn’t listen to me,” you exclaim
dottore softens in the way he only does around you, quietly offering you an apology and his coat to warm up your shivering body “i apologize, my love. i should not have been so neglectful of my own partner.”
he’s careful as he carries you to your shared bed and wraps you up:

you didn’t bother to tell him you were sick, thinking that he’d eventually realize later in the day
but childe was having one of those days and didn’t have a care in the world for anyone but himself
he came in to your shared room and collapsed on you, completely missing the pained grunt you let out as complaints flew left and right out of his mouth
things like: “spar with me, please!” and “c’mon we haven’t challenged each other in so long!” among many other complaints
he was right, it had been along time. and while you didn’t exactly want to spar with him today, you figured if you just indulged him for one round he would let it go
so you got up and got your equipment desperately trying to ignore the pounding of your headache
childe was beaming with excitement as he kissed your cheek and ran out to grab his equipment
when you got outside to join him, the chilly wind of snezhnaya bit at your skin and made your nose run faster than it had been before
childe quickly went in for a few hits, you dodged them and countered him quickly
it seemed to increase his determination as he charged at you effectively hitting you in the side
you didn’t let it affect you too much, aside from a bit of coughing which your boyfriend had chalked up to being from the impact of the hit
you had only lasted ten minutes longer before he landed one last hit, knocking you to the ground
“oh, c’mon! that one wasn’t even that bad. don’t tell me you can’t handle a hit that weak!” he laughed, just teasing you
you bent over on your hands and knees, violently coughing as tears poured out from your eyes
“hey hey hey, what’s wrong?” childe panicked as he dropped to his knees next to you with one hand placed on your back to support you
his hand reached your forehead, feeling a burning sensation, “woah, you’re burning up! why didn’t you tell me you were sick?”
“you were—“ you were cut off by your coughs, “so excited to spar. i figured if i just indulged you for a round or two i’d be fine…”
“hey, you didn’t have to do that,” he said softly, “i would’ve understood if you just told me. i care more about you than fighting, you know that.”
childe picked you up quickly and brought you back inside your shared home and to your bed, wrapping you up cozily under the covers before joining you
“childe, no— you’ll get sick,” you tried to push him away.
he smiled and firmly placed a kiss on your lips,“oh c’mon, when have i ever cared about that?”
If they see anyone attempting to get close to you or looking at you in a more-than friendly manner, then OH these boys will be HANDSY. (After dealing with the offender) They'll leave their hand on your shoulder, your waist, or your hip, and pull you in close to them, and hold you like this for as long as they are with you. They won't be afraid to plant kisses up and down your neck, shoulder, and jaw while he's at it too.
He'll do anything to tell others to back off because you're already taken by him.

"Clingy" isn't really in their vocabulary, but during the times you've been away for a while, they'll show how much they've missed you by almost never leaving your side, following you around like a lost puppy.
Going to the kitchen for a snack? Well, they're suddenly hungry and will go with you too. Going out to get some groceries? He'll offer to come with you help you carry the bags. Reading a book? He'll grab one to read and sit beside you. Even if you two aren't speaking and are simply doing your own things, he'll want to be wherever you are. Your presence alone is enough to make him happy.
I think they'd also give you more kisses than usual as well: kissing you when you arrive home, kissing you before he leaves, or simply kissing you out of nowhere to enjoy the look of surprise on your face.
...they want comfort
Kaveh, Cyno, Diluc
After a long day of work, he'll come home and would immediately go to hug you from behind, clinging to your waist as he nuzzles his face into your back. Hugging you like this eases him, and with your warm hand holding his arms wrapped around you and leaning into his touch, all of his stress would begin to wash away.
Kaveh would totally be the type to vent about his day, then leaving kisses up and down your back as he tells you how much you ease his mind and how much he adores you. His adoration will only skyrocket if you choose to turn him around and return his flurry of kisses. At this point, he'd come to an epiphany; Instead of drowning in his sorrows, he'd rather drown in you.
On the other hand, I see Cyno and Diluc being the type to hug you in silence, simply relishing the feeling of you in his arms and calming himself as he listens to your heartbeat.
They'd stay like this for a while. You are his source of comfort, both physically and emotionally, so of course he'd cling onto you when he's had a rough day.

Dainsleif, Zhongli
When they think of how there will eventually come a time where you will no longer be there with him, it pains him extraordinarily. He doesn't want to think of such thoughts, yet, he knows that he must understand the reality of it.
Like the previous category, he'll also hug you out of nowhere, embracing you so tightly that you could feel the pounding of his heart against his chest and deeply inhaling your scent that he so adores. He'll keep you in his arms for the longest time without saying a word. There would be no need for words to tell you that he desperately needed to hold you, to shield you in his arms and protect you, wishing that his embrace could keep you safe and sound with him for the eternity he'll have to live for.
He doesn't want to let you go, so let him enjoy the remaining time he has with you.
...they crave your affection
Baizhu, Gorou, Kazuha, Thoma
They'd be a shy and romantic type of clingy, wanting more of your touch, wanting to be held by you, and wanting more of your love, but being hesitant to ask for it directly. They wouldn't want you to see them as needy and end up warding you off as a result.
So they'll attempt to be subtle with their desire, extending his hand out you when you're in a crowd, brushing off a strand of hair that may be in your face, gently holding the small of your back as you two walk, and finding any other opportunity to touch you in a helpful or kind manner for as long as he can.
It's when you finally return his affections will he feel free to be more forward with his own. When you'd place your on hand on his, or cup his cheek, he will immediately melt into your touch, holding your hand tighter or taking your cupped hand and kissing your palm.
Play with their hair, dance your fingers on his skin, caress his cheeks, do anything to show your affection for him and he'll fold so easily for you, further begging you for it by reciprocating your actions and maybe even more 🤭
they're just clingy IN GENERAL
Venti, Itto
They hold a lot of love for you and it SHOWS. It'll be a complete combination of all categories up to this point. If you leave the room, it doesn't matter where you're going, he's going with you. He wants to be close to you and will want to have his hands on you nearly the entire time. Heck, he will literally cling onto you like a leech, clinging onto your arm or waist. He's not planning on leaving your side or letting you go anytime soon.
Brace yourself because he'll also talk your ear off at the same time too, either by talking about some random thing, complimenting you in the weirdest of ways, or telling you the cheesiest of pick-up lines.
Like, I see Itto suddenly pulling out an onikabuto from his pocket to gift you, saying, "My love for you is like this Onikabuto- big and impossible to break 😌". On the other hand, I think Venti would be much smoother and Shakespearean with his words tbh lol
You'll also catch them staring at you for long periods of time and when you call them out on it, they'll simply respond, "Can you blame me? It's hard not to stare when you're just too beautiful" and would give you a cheeky wink.

Zhongli:
"Okay, love. The soup is finally done," Zhongli says, spooning a couple of fresh ladles into the two bowls he had prepared, watching you hum while setting the table.
You gave him a small smile, knowing that his ever-so-delicous slow-cooked bamboo shoot soup would put both your mind as stomach at ease, as if he had somehow cooked his patience into the soup. Maybe that's why it took so long to cook. No matter, it would go down the same anyway.
"Thank you, dearest," you reply, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder, leaning up to press a small kiss to his cheek, the warmth making him smile. He placed the bowls down, both of you taking a seat next to eachother. Normally you would've sat across from each other, but your individal schedules had been clashing as of late, so this was one of the few times the two of you could spend together.
After a small prayer. each of you pick up your spoons and gather some of the broth. Zhongli blew softly onto his, and you brought yours up to your tongue immediately.
"Mmph--!"
"Oh my, are you okay?" Zhongli asks, placing his soup back into his bowl, reaching over your your cheek as you're blowing softly between your lips.
"Haah... Forgot to blow... Hot soup..." You whined, sticking the tip of your now burned tongue out of your mouth, fanning it with your hand. Zhongli's eyes softened from worry to endearment, gently taking your cheek and pressing a small kiss to your mouth, pulling back with a thumb rubbing your cheek. He smiles softly, a smile that always makes you melt as he leans forward once more, this time to place a kiss on your forehead.
"Do be more careful, love, won't you?"
"Um... Yes, sorry," you mumble, the burning on your tongue tansferring to your cheeks. He gave a small chuckle, returning to his soup. Every day, despite how much or little time you had together, he was reminded more and more of how much he loved you.
Itto:
"Babe! I finished the food!" Itto yells, bounding to the couch with two plates in hand, grabbing your attention away from the small cow in your lap. He let out a moo, which in turn caused Itto to grin more.
"Of course I've got some for you too, buddy!" He says, taking a seat next to you, handing you a plate with a sandwich filled with steaming yakisoba. The noodles seemed to be ever-so-slightly singed, but that was just the he cooked sometimes, and it wasn't indeible, so it didn't matter too much.
"Itto, did you have the stove too hot again?" You inqure, oppening your sandwich to let the contents inside cool off. He waved his hand, a smirk now adorning his features. "A little, but it's fine! The hotter it is, the stronger you'll be against hot stuff, right? Anyway, let's eat!" He says, before taking a bite out of his
"aaaAAAAHHHH!!!"
And there it was. You and Ushi both looked at eachother with a blank stare as the Oni next to you fanned his tongue, small tears pricking his eyes as he panted and whimpered. "Too...! Hot...!"
Ushi mooed once more, the red-horned male looking at him with an expression of emarassment and betrayal, defending himself against the ox.
"Hey! I am still plenty strong! It just caught me off guard, that's all! I didn't expect it to be that hot..." He mumbled, looking down with a pout. You let out a small sigh, placing Ushi next to you, before going over to sit on Itto's lap, cupping his cheeks. He looked up at you with teary eyes, fully expecting to be reprimanded, so his eyes went as wide as saucers when you kissed him, your soft lips pressing against his own.
"It's okay, Itto. I think you're still plenty strong, but even strong people get hurt. But that's why I'm here, to take care of you when you're hurt," you say, gently rubbing circles into his cheeks while he looks up at you, his eyes lighting back up. You climbed off his lap, taking your own sandwich back and tearing off a piece to feed to Ushi, side-eyeing Itto as he grabbed his own.
"But if you burn yourself again, you're on your own."
He slowly lowered the sandwich.
Gorou:
"Okay, here it is," Gorou said, placing down two bowls filled with his own special ramen, you pushing your documents to the side. Gorou had recently caught up with the new recruit's training, so the two of you had a calm night ahead of you.
He had taken the opportuniuty to cook for the both of you, something he hadn't done in a while. You didn't complain, wanting to look over a couple of files you had to turn in. You looked down at the bowls, a smile immediately adorning your face at the little puppy-like details in the ramen, from the paw-pring egg to the little Shiba decoration.
"I hope it's still good, it's been a while since I made it..." He said, his ears slightly drooping. You waved your hand, picking up your chopsticks and placing your hands together.
He follows your lead, the two of you giving a small prayer before preparing to eat. Luckily for you, (and unluckily for him,) Gorou's hands were just a bit faster, and you heard a small yelp, whimper, and tink! of a pair of chopsticks hitting a bowl, causing you to look over at him. His cheeks were slightly red and his ears were flat, his tongue sticking out and his tail curled up.
"Ow... I should've waited longer for them to cool off..." He whimpered, small tears coming to his eyes, him trying his best to blink them back. You gave him a small frown, cooing softly to him as you took his cheeks, turning him to face you.
"Oh, Gorou, it's okay... Does it hurt that badly?" You asking, taking note of the small tears in his eyes. You looked at him a bit longer, before deciding to lean forward, pressing a kiss to his lips, making his ears perk up in alert and his eyes widen.
As you pullled back, you noticed the start of his tail wagging, and his blush as he looked at you, reaching for your wrists.
"Does it still hurt, sweetheart?"
"N...No...."
"That's good. Let's give it a bit longet to cool off, okay?" You ask, reaching up to rub his ears while he was off guard, feeling him lean into your touch, nodding softly.
"Yeah... We can wait.." He mumbled, relishing in the warmth of your hand. Maybe the embarassment of burning his tongue wasn't as bad as his comfort?

Pairing: Xiao x Gender Neutral! Reader
Synopsis: Walking around the snowy mountain was one of your favourite hobbies, principally when its included in your job. However, you never expected to see a well-known Adeptus in the middle of it.
Their hands felt cold but it was somewhat comfortable, blowing softly as a way to warm them. They looked around, enjoying the appearance of the cold lake.
It was beautiful and calming, not a single Hilichurl close to them. (Y/N) were really happy with their job, cutting ice blocks to sell in Liyue. It was hard but they found joy in doing it.
Picking up the ice block they've just cut down, (Y/N) started to walk back towards the Liyue border, sneaking past the 'weird mechanisms' as they call it. As they were walking, the sound of another pair of footsteps scared them, quickly looking around, the (H/C) noticed a short figure squatting close to a pilr of snow.
Walking closer, the young ice cutter took notice of the green and black hair that they were already familiarized with. "Now, now, that's not how I expected to see an Adeptus." They said in a teasing manner, slightly scaring the man, who turned around quickly. His face covered with small snowflakes and, apparently, his mouth was full with snow.
(Y/N) laughed softly at scene in front of them, the Adeptus had a small flush on his cheek, uncertain if it was the cold or just one of his friends seeing him like that. "What are you doing here?" He asked, after swallowing the snow "This area can be dangerous for mortals."
"The only danger I see here its a hungry adeptus with a taste for dirty snow." They answered, holding back a small laughing while covering they mouth.
Xiao stared at (Y/N) for some time before looking away and crossing his arms, finally taking notice of the ice block besides the mortal. "So, this where you get the ice." He said in a serious manner. The (H/C) only nodded, sighing softly for themselves.
(Y/N) looked tired at the ice block, before a thought came in their mind, remembering a small memory. Quickly picking up a cup they had with them and the small ice picker, they started to crush the ice into the cup. The adeptus looked attently, curious about what this mortal was doing.
After finishing shaving the ice, (Y/N) offered the cup to Xiao, who looked rather confused with it. "Its a small "recipe" my family had, we normally put some syrup on it. It might not be as delicious as your pile of snow but its kinda safer." The short man stared a little before picking the shaved ice and biting into it, a small flush on his face as the (H/C) was staring at him with a sweet smile on their face.
The adeptus only nodded, saying it was good, as the mortal shook their head, smilling, both walking leisurely towards Liyue.
Despite being pure ice, it sure brought a warm feeling in the adeptus' chest. He promised to himself to give a piece of his tofu, once they get back at Wangshu Inn.
