So I headcanon that winglights are the souls of ancestors and sky kids who died but weren't able to ascend to Orbit. I know-in game all the winglights are shaped like the same small bald child (presumably due to game limitations) but what if winglights we find around the game were actually shaped like the people they were in life?

I have many OCs I've made for fanfics and original stories: there's Blossom, the hylian girl raised by a great fairy, Tempest and Timothy, two orphan siblings living in a steampunk world, Cressida, teenage girl who survives the apocalypse, but the ones I've been obsessing over recently are my sky kid OC Terem and their parents.

Basically Terem grows up in Wasteland near the temple but back in the past before it was a Wasteland, before the fall of the sky kingdom. Terem's purpose is to witness the decline and fall of the kingdom and then to share those memories with my other Sky kid OC, who I've also just been calling Stormy (cuz I haven't found a better name for them yet 😅) who lives in the present.

I had to assign parents for Terem and the easiest thing to do was pick some spirits that already existed. Terem lives in battleground and there are only 2 spirits in that room: Lookout Scout and Seed of Hope so I made them be a couple and parents to Terem.

At first I didn't know anything about those two spirits and thought it was a weird random pairing, but its grown on me. Seed is a medic by trade and Lookout is a scout, a soldier--its an interesting dynamic, one person trained to take lives and the other to save lives. Maybe they met when Seed helped out an injured Lookout, or maybe Lookout was the one to rescue Seed after he got shot with an arrow (like you see in the Aurora memory). (I headcanon Seed didn't start serving Aurora until after they died.)

It also helps that since Terem is a little troublemaker (and a child living through the decline and fall of the kingdom) that their parents are a soldier and a medic. I imagine Seed to be extroverted and energetic while Lookout is more introverted and gentle. Terem is a curious kid who likes to wander and explore. They're on the more reserved side, but also want to prove themself to be cool and capable like the older kids in the neighborhood kid gang.

The comics I've been writing have mostly been about Terem and their antics. I haven't fully settled on designs for these three; I might change their clothes/colors but this is what I'm going with right now. Oh yeah, I had to come up with actual people names for Seed and Lookout so I used the in-game random moth name generator and came up with the names Eluyu for Seed and Tulio for Lookout.
