Hello.....as you might've seen me post in the past days my country is going through one of the biggest tragedies it has ever experienced right now, having endured two consecutive earthquakes very recently and not being equipped to deal with the damage, my people need all the help possible.

So i made a little strawpage compiling helpful links that i've seen around in one place, they're a lot so have fun choosing. If you've ever liked anything i've made, please consider helping in any way you can whether economically or by sharing. I am unharmed but so many people are currently suffering and so many have lost everything and i don't like seeing people having to endure so much.

in case you haven't heard, parts of venezuela were recently hit by a series of earthquakes, affecting communities across the country.

as venezuela is my home country, all of this hits especially close to home. thankfully, my family and loved ones are safe since they were in cities not as severely affected. however, many others have not been as fortunate and are now facing the aftermath of these events.

years of political and economic instability have left many communities with limited resources and infrastructure, making it even more difficult to respond to emergencies like this. there are reports of people who remain missing, and many families are still waiting for news about their loved ones. rescue efforts have been made even more difficult by shortages of equipment, ambulances, and other emergency resources needed to respond to a disaster of this scale.

if you're able to, please consider sharing information, supporting verified relief efforts, or simply helping spread awareness about what is happening.

Just to be clear: this earthquake has been so devastating specifically because of the decades of neglect that happened during Chávez and Maduro. We had rescuing equipment in the nineties. We had qualified personnel that would have told people if the buildings needed maintenance. Some of those buildings that collapsed had already weathered the Vargas tragedy, actually, you can see them in the comparison photos.

I do not think "oh, Venezuela just has bad luck". No. We had neglect. Ever since I was a child, people kept telling me we were due for another big earthquake... Everybody knew we were due for another one!! Venezuela has one big earthquake every half a century, and rhe last one was in 1967, all we needed was to do the math's and be like "well, we need rescue equipment, and we need to assess the state of this or that building so it does not FALL ON PEOPLE"...

But all we got was people making us hungry, poor, and desperate.

May I add, not only things relating to earthquake prevention and safety but also the hospitals are completely depleted from resources (thanks again to a shitty and corrupt government) so even those that get out of the rubble are having a hard time getting back to health and the doctors can't simply meet the demand

Casi todos los edificios de Misión Vivienda se cayeron, y los que no construyó Chávez tenían ya daño de la tragedia de Vargas que no había sido reparado propiamente, y me consta porque Residencias Caribe, que es donde conozco más gente, no había sido mantenido en mucho tiempo, y los dueños de los apartamentos los habían simplemente vendido a bajo precio, o eso es lo que tengo entendido.

De nuevo, mi mamá odió a Caldera por mucho tiempo (por haber cerrado la UCV), y además de eso su primer esposo era un desgraciado que estaba involucrado con Acción Democrática, pero... La cuarta república no causó este desastre directamente. La cuarta república tampoco está mandando soldados a evitar dejar pasar la ayuda, o que solo se concentren en rescatar la droga que tienen escondida y los televisores de las víctimas.

Tengo casi treinta y cuatro años, y Chávez hizo su intento de golpe cuando estaba en el vientre de mi madre. No conozco una realidad donde existe Chávez, aunque sí recuerdo cómo eran las cosas durante los últimos días de la cuarta. Éramos un país normal, no el póster de "Ayuda a los huérfanos necesitados"

Como guinda que le faltaba a la torta, aquí está la entrevista más espeluznante y horrible que he visto en mi vida.

Es una arquitecto que trabajó en Misión Vivienda, en Zulia, hablando de como sus superiores le daban las cabillas a los contratistas para revender, y reemplazaban todo con materiales de mala calidad. Habla también de que la gente involucrada con Misión Vivienda, que tomaba las decisiones, no tenían formación ni experiencia en construcción (al contrario de los que construyeron Petare y los otros barrios, que eran obreros de profesión, o los que construían casas en la cuarta, que eran arquitectos e ingenieros titulados), y que solo les importaba el dinero y la velocidad a la que las casas eran hechas.

Voy a agregar a lo de la entrevista de arriba, mi papá (ingeniero civil) también trabajó en la construcción de las misiones vivienda de Fuerte Tiuna hechas en colaboración con Bielorrusia y decía que cometían un montón de errores por los que te rasparian el primer semestre de ingeniería. Por ejemplo vaciaban el concreto en periodos de varios días cuando se tiene que hacer en uno solo para que se seque y selle como una sola pieza, las profundidades de los pilotes no eran las equivalentes o necesarias para edificios de esa altura, etc. Eso fue por allá por el 2009 y lamento mucho que mi papá (que en paz descanse) no haya alzado la voz pero al mismo tiempo era la primera vez que conseguía trabajo estable después de la lista de Tascón que lo mantuvo desempleado por años (otra joyita del gobierno de Chávez). Incluso si la cuarta hubiese hecho un pésimo trabajo, me estás diciendo que casi 30 años de gobierno con el precio del barril de petróleo en su punto más alto no era suficiente para arreglar esos "errores" que dejó el gobierno anterior? Entonces cuál es el punto? Para que echar tanto para atrás si 28 años es más que suficiente para arreglar las cosas? O empezamos a culpar a Gómez? A Páez?

hi so recently there was a very strong earthquake in Venezuela that left so many people deeply affected including my family that lives there. The government obviously doesn't have the means to help its people with the current economic situation and all so I would really appreciate some monetary help as my grandpa and aunt are currently struggling, their home is barely livable at this point (theres multiple cracks in the infraestructure) and they're in dire need of basic need products (food is scarce due to the high demand) There's also some direct friends of the family that were deeply affected and I would like to help them too, any dollar or sharing helps
