Yip had left again, finally, leaving Eris to sit in the darkened room once more. It wasn’t often he felt these kinds of emotions, so he didn’t know how to suppress them, instead letting it darken his surroundings until he felt comfort from it. He could hear footsteps outside, especially ones that stopped at his door and knocked. The scent was familiar, if not different, but it was enough to perk him up, watching the door as it opened and Artagan was there.
Rising to his feet, he across the room quickly, scooping his love up into his arms and holding onto him tightly. He had not lost him, and all that worry quickly shifted to relief that warmed him from the inside out. Artagan was different now, yes, but only in body. Leaning back, Eris kissed him, firm yet sweet, rather lovingly. When he pulled back, he felt like himself again.
“The red eyes are a good look on you,” he commented with a smile, hand brushing up and down the hybrids back.
Instead of waiting for Eris to open the door, he pushed his way inside the suite, noting the darkened interior with a small smile. So, the vampire had been worried about him, or something else had soured his mood. He had learned that Eris’s way of moping included dark rooms and hiding away. This time, Artagan was happy to be the bearer of good news though he was nervous that the vampire might not like him the same way anymore, considering he was no longer purely fae.
Those fears and doubts faded when Eris closed the distance between them Artagan wrapped his arms around his lover, squeezing him a touch too hard, forgetting his new strength. The soft kiss felt different but just as wonderful and he leaned into it, letting his arms slip up to his shoulders. “Are you sure?” he asked once they pulled away. This was the part that he was nervous for, now that he had survived. There was no longer a time limit on his life and he had wondered if Eris would tolerate him for that long.
“You won’t miss the green eyes? Or my blood?” he asked. Despite having bottled some of his blood as a gift, he knew it wasn’t the same.
