The day has finally come where I decided to put up the rest of my collection of pins. Unfortunately, though, that means a reorganization is in order because my Hazbins will be moving to a bigger cork board (I plan to buy more in the future) and the Helluvas will be split between these two smaller. Idk why I had the urge to do this while I was also working on a puzzle, but that's also one of the reasons I suspect I have ADHD because this is a pretty normal occurrence for me. 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, will update later with the final results.

Not going to lie, religion does make sense in the ancient and olden days. Back when they didn't really know any better, at least. Like, during a time when they didn't understand how the cycle of water worked, it's reasonable that unknowing folks would assume it was some higher form of being controlling the rain to water their crops and or making the rivers flow downstream. And of course they would pass this knowledge of high beings on to their children. Someone has to appease the gods and deities with prayer and sacrifice once the elders are gone, after all. The trouble is, though, that once the smarter and more open minded folks in civilizations began to learn, research, and expand their knowledge and spreading that knowledge to others, the elders started to lose their influence and power. It's kind of hard to tell a person or people that doing a certain thing that was considered taboo will earn them punishment and wrath from their god(s) if said person or people actually understand how something works and it has zero to do with any higher being(s). So what do people do? Do they see the error of their ways and decide to grow and change with this new world and knowledge? Of course not. Religion granted them their power and control. Religion can't suddenly be abandoned or the people will realize they aren't as wise and all knowing as they seem. So the only logical choice is to double down and become diehard believers. Instill fear into people's hearts. Make people seek salvation through their god(s) and subsequently them as a result. Tell the people that knowledge is dangerous and only the god(s) should have it. Only the god(s) have a right to know the way of things. And, through the trickle down affect, this has continued to work throughout history, spanning over many civilizations and religions.

Because it's just that much easier to believe in magical entities that allow them to hate and force their will on everyone than it is to realize that all people are equal and no one is above anyone else.

Lowkey why are there always people standing by the stage when a new human joins? Can’t there be one time where someone joined while the rest were off on an adventure and just. Had the circus to themself until the others returned? I think that would be a very interesting piece of fiction.

I think Caine (or at least the programing behind the Circus) does it purposefully so that the new user doesn't become confused or overly disoriented. Like in a, "Oh, I'm not alone in this weird, strange place so it's not quite as scary!" kinda logic. Or at least that was the intention. Obviously that doesn't always work so well.

Either that or Scratch suggested they do it that way. He was the only person to show up without another "human" there to greet him and ease the transition so it was probably jarring.

Maybe, but it always seems like they’ve just. Been standing there. They haven’t been teleported there to greet the new user, they’re just chilling in front of the stage. But they never hang out in front of the stage in any other context, which makes it seem like it’s done on purpose. But how can they, or at least Caine, know when to expect a new user? Caine didn’t even know it was possible for new people to join at all until Ragatha, so… it’s not like he can, idk, “sense” a new user. The more I go on the more it feels like I’m being contrary for the sake of it, but I’m really just rambling.

Like I said, it could be something to do with the program itself. Maybe something even Caine isn't aware of. And it's okay to ramble. We obviously didn't work on the show, so it's all just speculation.
