A cut above disaster
Soshiro hoshina x reader
Drabble
It was supposed to be simple.
Soshiro Hoshina had only mentioned it once, casually, while shrugging off his jacket like it was nothing.
“My hair’s getting a bit long. I’ll stop by a barber after work.”
But his girlfriend—his beloved—had already straightened up from where she was sitting, eyes lighting like she’d just been handed a mission.
“I can do it.”
That was how he ended up sitting on a chair in their living room, cape made from an old towel draped around his shoulders, scissors in her hands, and an unsettling amount of confidence in her voice.
“You’ve cut hair before?” he asked, amused.
“…I’ve watched people do it,” she replied.
A pause.
“That’s not the same thing, sweetheart.”
“It’s basically the same thing.”
It was not, in fact, the same thing.
At first, everything seemed fine. She combed his hair carefully, occasionally humming to herself like she was in some kind of tutorial montage. Soshiro even relaxed a little, eyes half-lidded as he leaned back.
“You’re doing great,” he teased. “Maybe I should’ve let you handle my missions too.”
“Don’t distract me,” she said seriously, snipping with determination.
The first silence lasted about thirty seconds.
Then—
“…Why is this side shorter?” he asked.
“It’s not.”
“It is.”
“It’s perspective.”
That was the first warning sign.
By the time she rotated him slightly to “fix the angle,” things had escalated. One side was now clearly shorter, the other suspiciously uneven, and the back looked like it had gone through an emotional crisis.
Soshiro blinked at his reflection.
Then blinked again.
“…Love.”
“Yes?”
“Did you just give me layers on accident?”
“They’re… texture.”
“That’s not what texture means.”
She leaned in, squinting at her own work. “It’s not that bad.”
A beat.
He slowly turned his head.
“It’s not that good either.”
Silence.
Then she quietly said, “Okay, I might’ve overestimated my skills a little.”
“A little,” he repeated.
Another snip.
“Hey—don’t fix it by making it shorter—”
Too late.
By the end of it, what used to be Soshiro Hoshina’s neatly maintained hair had become something between “experimental” and “barber shop incident that would make seniors retire early.”
He stared at himself in the mirror for a long moment.
“…I can’t show up to work like this.”
She bit her lip. “It’s not that bad.”
He slowly turned his head.
She immediately corrected herself. “…Okay, it’s a little bad.”
“Try very bad.”
“…Very bad.”
The next morning, the Vice Captain of the Third Division walked into headquarters wearing a hat pulled low over his head.
A very suspicious hat.
A very necessary hat.
One of the rookies whispered, “Is he… hiding something?”
Another leaned closer. “Did he get injured?”
Hoshina, overhearing everything, smiled politely.
“Nothing serious,” he said smoothly.
From under the hat, a few uneven strands still betrayed him.
Meanwhile, his girlfriend stood at home later that day, staring at the sink where a tragic amount of hair still lay, whispering to herself:
“…Next time, we’re paying a professional.”
And somewhere in the distance, Soshiro decided that love was many things—
But letting her use scissors near his hair again was not one of them.
Hii, hope you doing veryy well and i always loveee your work so muchhh ;3 I'm always waiting for your newest work!!
If this okaay ( if you didn't take it, it's fineee)

(Small note: I’m sorry that you requested this so long ago and I’m now just posting so I hope your still interested and enjoy along with the rest of my readers)
Keeping the bug lover in line pt2 (mochis great escape)
Soshiro hoshina x reader
Pt1 here
(Small note this wasn’t requested but I really enjoyed writing the 1st part and thought of another sanerio for this so anyways I hope yall enjoy)
By Friday afternoon, the Third Division had been unusually quiet.
Not peaceful.
Just…
Uneasy.
Nobody could quite explain why.
Earlier that morning, Vice Captain Soshiro Hoshina had found you tending to the flowers outside the barracks, gently moving a caterpillar off a trampled leaf.
hiiii !! I see that your requests are open, and i was hoping you'd do this where reader's has like obsession with insects and has like even centipede tattoos like
thiss !! (Using qin shi huang from record ragnarok as a ref 🤗)
And also to the point they like to tease others by holding bunch of insects and showing off to them and causing chaos but Hoshina (or narumi) has to keep them in line so they don't cause too much chaos around the base !!
Keeping the bug lover in line
Soshiro hoshina x reader
(Small note hey yall im back again after almost i think 2 months i will get to my other requests if you left one I promise)
The first time the Third Division met you, they assumed you were joking.
“…Please tell me that isn’t alive.”
You looked down at the fat green praying mantis calmly perched on your finger.
“It is.”
“…”
“It likes you.”
“It absolutely does not.”
The poor recruit nearly vaulted over a supply crate trying to get away as you sighed dramatically.
“You hurt his feelings.”
“I DON’T THINK INSECTS HAVE FEELINGS!”
I found your blog, like, only today, and Holy Hell, your writing is so good and so sweet it makes me go wraaAAH–(/pos)!!(ノ≧∇≦)ノ ミ ┻━┻ If it's alright to(totally ok if not, tho!🫶), could I make a request about something that's not part of the master-list, and I'm not sure if you're into it/know about it at all or not, but, uhm..It'd be awesome to read a "Mephisto x reader" written by you, and the one I'm referring to specifically would be from Blue Exorcist! But again, absolutely alright if you don't take requests for that fandom!!<3 *If* yes, then it'd be lovely to read about something in which he quietly takes an interest in the reader and said reader is an exorcist and works along with a team that at some point has to go on a particularly dangerous mission and he stays anxious through the whole ordeal and once the team gets back more or less in one piece the first thing he does is rushing to the reader and that's the turning point for them, or something along these lines (I get it's a rather specific request and I am so sorry–༎ຶ‿༎ຶ👉👈)
Also have seen from one of your notes that you've been having a tiring time as of late, and so I just wanted to say, please take care and, again, your writing is absolutely hyper amazing and I love it!!!🙇🫶
Unscheduled Devotion
Mephisto Pheles x exorcist reader
Small note: I’m soooo incredibly sorry that this took so long to get done this has been rotting in my inbox for a bit but I finally got it written 🥹✌🏼so I hope you enjoy and this along with the rest of my readers
The mission report had already crossed his desk twice.
That alone was enough to irritate him.
Mephisto Pheles lounged in his chair, one long leg crossed over the other, gloved fingers tapping lazily against the polished wood of his desk. To anyone passing by, he looked as he always did—composed, amused, untouchable.
But the paper in his hand had been read far too many times for someone who claimed boredom so easily.
“Mm… a high-level demonic manifestation, unstable territory, communications disrupted…” he murmured, voice lilting with mock delight. “How delightfully reckless.”
His golden eyes flicked to the window.
Far beyond the academy grounds, somewhere past the neat illusion of safety he so carefully maintained, you were out there.
And he had allowed it.
That was the part that lingered.
You weren’t special.
That’s what he had told himself at first.
Just another exorcist. Competent, yes. Perhaps a bit more perceptive than most. You didn’t fawn over him, didn’t fall into his games quite as easily. You watched him—carefully. Questioning.
It had amused him.
Then intrigued him.
Then…
“Well,” he sighed, setting the report aside with a soft flick, “this is becoming inconvenient.”
Because now you were late.
Hours had passed since the team was meant to report back.
Even Mephisto’s patience—vast as it was—had limits.
The air in his office subtly shifted. A pressure, almost imperceptible, curled through the space like a coiled serpent. Anyone else might have missed it.
But if you were there, you wouldn’t have.
“Should I intervene?” he mused aloud, voice quieter now, stripped of some of its theatrical flair.
He already knew the answer.
He shouldn’t.
This was a test. Missions like these were necessary. Growth required risk. He was, after all, a king who valued entertainment—and chaos was part of the spectacle.
So why—
Why was he standing now?
The academy gates opened just as twilight bled into night.
The team stumbled in.
Wounded. Exhausted. Alive.
Barely.
Mephisto was already there before anyone announced their return.
Of course he was.
To the others, it looked coincidental—the principal taking a casual stroll, parasol in hand, hat tilted just so.
But his gaze cut sharply through the group.
Counting.
Assessing.
Searching.
“…Ah,” he hummed, almost too softly to hear.
There.
You.
Bruised, dirt-streaked, uniform torn at the sleeve. Walking under your own power, but only just.
Something in his chest—something old, something dangerous—eased.
He moved before anyone could notice the shift.
“Welcome back~!” Mephisto’s voice rang out brightly, arms spreading wide as if greeting performers after a grand show. “What a marvelous display of survival!”
A few of the exorcists groaned. One muttered something about his timing.
You didn’t respond.
You were too tired.
That… annoyed him.
Not at you.
At the situation.
At himself.
He stepped closer, the usual playful distance gone without warning.
“Report,” he said, but his eyes weren’t on the team leader.
They were on you.
Your breathing. The way your hand pressed briefly to your side. The slight delay in your reactions.
You noticed.
Of course you did.
“…We completed the objective,” someone answered, voice strained. “But it escalated. We lost contact halfway through.”
“Yes, yes, I read the possibilities,” Mephisto waved it off lightly.
Still watching you.
Still measuring.
Then, without warning—
He closed the distance completely.
“Honestly,” he said, quieter now, just for you, “you look dreadful.”
You blinked at him, caught off guard.
“…Gee. Thanks.”
Your voice was rough, but steady.
Good.
Still yourself.
His gaze sharpened, just slightly.
“You’re injured.”
“Everyone is,” you replied, trying to brush past him.
You didn’t get far.
A gloved hand caught your wrist.
Not rough.
But firm.
Unyielding.
That… was new.
For a moment, the world narrowed.
The chatter of the others faded. The evening air stilled.
Mephisto tilted his head, studying you far too closely for someone who usually kept everything at arm’s length.
“You,” he said, tone almost curious, “have a rather bad habit of downplaying your condition.”
You frowned. “And you have a habit of being dramatic.”
“Mm. True.”
He didn’t let go.
That was the problem.
Something shifted then.
Not in him—but in his patience.
Because instead of letting go…
He stepped closer.
Then—without warning—his hand slid from your wrist to your arm, steadying you as your balance wavered just slightly.
You hadn’t even noticed you were about to stumble.
He had.
“…That’s enough.”
Not to you.
To the situation.
Before you could argue—
The world tilted.
Or rather—
It skipped.
Just a fraction.
A flicker of his power—subtle, controlled, but unmistakable.
And suddenly, he was moving—fast.
Not running in the frantic, human sense.
But something sharper.
More precise.
Guiding you with a firm grip at your side, his usual lazy demeanor completely gone.
“Hey—wait—” you started.
“No.”
Again—that same tone.
Final.
The academy blurred past.
Stone paths. Lantern light. Voices fading behind you.
Students stared as he passed—because Mephisto Pheles did not hurry.
Ever.
Yet here he was—
Practically dragging you along, his parasol forgotten somewhere behind, his attention locked entirely on keeping you upright.
“You’re making a scene,” you muttered weakly.
“How observant,” he replied flatly.
Flatly.
No lilt. No amusement.
That’s how you knew something was wrong.
The infirmary doors swung open before either of you properly reached them.
(He didn’t touch them.)
They simply—
Moved.
“Treat them,” he said immediately.
No flourish.
No introduction.
Just a command that cut clean through the room.
The medical staff froze for half a second—then rushed forward.
You barely had time to protest before hands were on you, guiding you to a bed.
And yet—
He didn’t step away.
Even as they worked—checking injuries, asking questions, pulling away torn fabric—
Mephisto remained at your side.
Too close.
Watching everything.
Every wince.
Every hesitation.
Every drop of blood.
“…You can go,” you said quietly after a moment, not quite meeting his eyes.
“I could,” he agreed.
He didn’t move.
A pause.
Then—
“You were late.”
You blinked. “…That’s what you’re going with?”
“Yes.”
His gaze didn’t waver.
“It was… inconvenient.”
You huffed weakly. “Right. Of course it was.”
But there it was again.
That slight delay.
That almost-hidden tension beneath his words.
The medic finished wrapping your side. “They’ll be fine, sir. Just needs rest.”
Mephisto’s eyes lingered a moment longer.
Then—
Finally—
He stepped back.
But not far.
Never far.
“…You were concerned,” you said quietly.
It wasn’t a question.
He smiled.
Of course he did.
But it came a second too late.
“Concern is such a pedestrian emotion,” he replied smoothly. “I simply had a vested interest in the outcome.”
“Uh-huh.”
“You doubt me?”
“Yes.”
“…How rude.”
For a long moment, neither of you spoke.
Then, with a soft exhale—almost imperceptible—his gaze softened just slightly.
“Next time,” he said, voice returning to its usual lilting cadence—though not quite as light as before, “try not to make things so… uncertain.”
You tilted your head slightly. “Things?”
His eyes flicked to yours.
A beat.
Then he smiled again—properly this time.
“Oh, you know,” he said lightly, turning away at last, “the narrative.”
But as he reached the doorway—
He paused.
Just briefly.
Not enough for anyone else to notice.
“…Rest,” he added, quieter.
For you.
Only you.
And that was the turning point.
Not the mission.
Not the danger.
But the fact that someone like him—
A being who treated the world like a stage—
Had broken character.
Rushed.
Stayed.
Watched.
For you.
hii, hopeee you doing well ˃ 𖥦 ˂

Just romantic moment with gen;3
Gen Narumi headcannons
* Gen acts like he’s above being clingy, but the second you sit beside him he’s already leaning against you without even realizing it.
* He absolutely steals your hoodies and blankets, then pretends they “just ended up” in his room somehow.
* If you’re shorter than him, he loves resting his chin on your head while scrolling through his phone or watching TV.
* He’s the type to send random pictures during the day with zero context. Half of them are blurry selfies, food, or something dumb he saw that reminded him of you.
* Even though he acts cocky, he gets surprisingly soft when you compliment him. Tell him he looks handsome and he’ll smirk, but you can tell he’s secretly thinking about it for the rest of the day.
* He likes teasing you just to see your reactions, but the second you seem genuinely upset he immediately backs off and apologizes.
* Late at night, when it’s just the two of you, he’s much quieter. He’d pull you close against his chest, run his fingers through your hair, and mumble about how you’re the only person who makes him feel calm.
* He would absolutely act dramatic if you ignore him for even five minutes. Suddenly he’s laying across your lap asking if you “hate him now.”
* He loves when you play with his hair. He’d never admit it at first, but once you start, he melts instantly and practically falls asleep.
* If you fall asleep on him, he refuses to move. His arm could be numb, his legs could hurt, but he’s staying exactly where he is because you look too peaceful.
* He’d definitely brag about you to other people in subtle ways. Not super obvious, but enough that everyone knows he adores you.
* On bad days, he doesn’t always know how to talk about what he’s feeling, but he’ll quietly seek you out anyway. Just being near you makes him feel better.
* He acts like he doesn’t care about anniversaries or dates, but secretly remembers every little thing — the first time you held hands, your favorite snack, the exact day you started dating.
* When he’s tired, he gets extra affectionate. More hugs, more forehead kisses, more “stay with me a little longer” moments.
* If you’re cold, he gives you his jacket immediately while pretending it’s “not a big deal,” even though he’s freezing five minutes later.
* He’d look at you sometimes with that softer expression he only ever has around you, like he still can’t believe someone as amazing as you chose him.
* He loves when you sit beside him while he plays, even if you are not doing anything. Just having you there makes him happy.
* If you play games too, he gets ridiculously competitive with you. He’ll tease you nonstop if he wins, but if you beat him he suddenly starts claiming the controls were “broken.”
* If you do not play games, he would still try teaching you his favorites. He gets surprisingly patient explaining controls, even if he acts dramatic every time you accidentally press the wrong button.
* He definitely has one game he is way too obsessed with and talks about constantly, even if you barely understand what he means.
* If you fall asleep while he is gaming in the same room, he keeps glancing over at you every few minutes just to make sure you are comfortable.
* Sometimes he lets you sit in his lap while he plays, one arm around your waist while still somehow managing to keep gaming.
* He definitely has one old game he loved as a kid and gets all nostalgic showing it to you.
Hii!!
Can I request Soshiro fics?(Take your time! I will always wait for your newest fanfics!^^)I was thinking about a reader(who is a new psychologist) coming to the 3rd division for the first time, and got new therapy room. and soshiro wonders why so many people crowded in the therapy room every single day including captain mina and kafka who visits too often. turns out, reader makes the therapy room as comfortable as possible(putting plushies, blankets, collection of tea), giving the best therapy. meanwhile, soshiro went inside for the first time and well, soshiro realized its his own girlfriend that becomes new psychologist! (well, reader keeps it surprise for him, hehe)
I hope you have a nice day!!(every single day filled with sunshine and love^^)
The new psychologist of the third division
Soshiro Hoshina x reader
Small note: sorry this took so long to get written and to others who might have asks in my inbox I promise I’ll get to them I’ve just been demotivated the past half a month or so but I hope you enjoy and I’ll be having a few more fics out soon
The first week after the new therapy office opened in the Third Division was chaos.
Not bad chaos—just the kind that made people stop in hallways, linger outside doors, and suddenly become very interested in “mental wellness.”
There had always been a spare office down the hall near the break room, but over the weekend it had transformed. The harsh lights were replaced with warm lamps, the stiff chairs swapped for soft couches, and shelves that had once been empty now held neatly stacked blankets, plushies, tea tins, snacks, little potted plants, and books.
Someone had even put a small basket by the door filled with stress balls and fidget toys.
By Tuesday, nearly everyone in the division had already visited.
Kafka wandered in constantly.
Mina had been spotted leaving twice in one day looking oddly calmer than usual.
Even some of the most intimidating officers had somehow ended up sitting on the couch with tea in their hands and a blanket over their shoulders.
And every single time Soshiro walked past, there was another crowd gathered outside.
He leaned against the wall near the break room, arms folded as he watched a handful of officers shuffle awkwardly outside the therapy office door.
“What’s with all of you?” he asked, raising a brow. “Looks like there’s free concert tickets in there.”
Kafka looked up from where he was holding a cup of tea.
“There kind of is,” he said honestly. “She’s amazing.”
Soshiro narrowed his eyes. “She?”
Kafka nodded eagerly. “The new therapist! She’s super nice and the room smells like cinnamon and there’s this huge basket of snacks and—”
“She lets you hold the stuffed animals if you’re nervous,” one of the younger officers added quietly.
Another officer pointed toward the room. “And she doesn’t judge you.”
Soshiro blinked once.
Then twice.
He had heard vague things about the new therapist coming in, sure. Mina had mentioned it once or twice during meetings. Something about improving morale and making sure everyone had proper support after missions.
Still, he had been busy enough that he never actually bothered finding out who they hired.
Now, apparently, the entire division had lost their minds over her.
“She can’t be that good,” Soshiro muttered.
Kafka looked horrified.
“She is that good.”
Mina appeared from down the hall then, carrying a mug that definitely had not been in her hand earlier that morning.
“You should go,” she said simply as she passed him.
Soshiro frowned. “Captain, not you too.”
Mina gave him a small look over the rim of her mug.
“She got me to take a break voluntarily.”
He stared.
“That’s terrifying.”
“It is.”
Then Mina kept walking.
Soshiro looked back toward the office door.
He had no idea what kind of miracle worker was sitting in there, but at this point his curiosity was killing him.
Later that afternoon, after another exhausting meeting and approximately four different people mentioning the therapist again, he finally gave in.
The door to the office was cracked slightly open.
A little sign hung on the front.
Come in. Tea is ready.
He snorted softly under his breath.
“Unbelievable.”
He pushed the door open.
And froze.
The room looked even softer inside than he expected. Warm light spilled across the floor from little lamps tucked into the corners. There were fluffy blankets folded over the couch, shelves lined with books and tea tins, and a collection of plushies piled in a basket near the wall.
There were soft curtains over the window.
A candle burned on the desk.
And sitting behind that desk, flipping through a notebook, was his girlfriend.
She looked up at the sound of the door opening.
For a moment, she blinked at him.
Then a slow smile spread across her face.
“Well,” she said lightly, “look who finally decided to come visit.”
Soshiro just stood there.
Staring.
“You…” he said after a long moment.
She tilted her head innocently.
“Me?”
“You’re the therapist?”
She grinned.
“Surprise?”
He looked around the room again like maybe he had hallucinated the entire thing.
Then he looked back at her.
Then back at the room.
Then back at her again.
“This whole time?”
She laughed softly, standing from her chair. “I wanted to tell you, but I thought it’d be more fun to let you find out on your own.”
He stared at her for another second before letting out a disbelieving laugh.
“So that’s why everybody’s been swarming this place like flies.”
“Birds,” she corrected. “Much cuter.”
“Birds, flies, same thing.”
She crossed her arms with a smile. “You’re just grumpy because everyone likes me more than you.”
“Oi.”
She laughed again, and Soshiro felt something warm settle in his chest.
Of course it was her.
Of course the entire division adored her already.
She had always been like that. Gentle without being weak. Patient without being fake. She knew exactly how to make people feel comfortable, even on their worst days.
His gaze drifted over the room again.
The tea.
The blankets.
The little bowl of candies on the desk.
The plushies.
“You did all this?” he asked quietly.
She nodded. “I wanted it to feel safe.”
There was something so sincere in the way she said it that his chest squeezed.
Because she really meant it.
Every blanket had probably been picked carefully.
Every tea flavor.
Every little detail.
All because she wanted the people here to have somewhere they could breathe.
Soshiro stepped further into the room and shut the door behind him.
“Come here,” he said.
She blinked. “Hm?”
He held out a hand.
Still smiling, she walked over.
The second she got close enough, he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her against him.
She laughed softly, hands resting against his chest.
“Well hello to you too.”
“You didn’t tell me.”
“You weren’t supposed to know yet.”
He buried his face lightly against her hair for a second, breathing in the familiar scent of her shampoo beneath the cinnamon candle.
Then he muttered, “Should’ve known it was you.”
“Oh?”
“Nobody else in the world would think to put plushies in a therapist’s office.”
She gasped dramatically. “They’re emotional support plushies.”
“Right, right.”
“And they’re very important.”
He pulled back just enough to look at her, his expression softer now.
“I’m proud of you, y’know.”
Her face changed at that.
Just slightly.
Softer.
More surprised.
“Soshiro…”
“I mean it,” he said quietly. “You made a place where everyone feels safe. That’s not easy.”
For once, she looked a little speechless.
Then she smiled—that small, warm smile he loved most.
“You wanna know a secret?” she asked.
“Hm?”
“You’re the reason I wanted this job.”
He blinked.
“You talk about them all the time,” she said softly. “Your division. Your people. How much pressure everyone’s under. I wanted to help.”
For a second, Soshiro could only look at her.
Then he pulled her into another hug, tighter this time.
Behind him, from outside the office door, there was suddenly a loud gasp.
“ARE THEY HUGGING?”
Kafka.
Immediately followed by another voice.
“What! The vice captain and Miss yn!”
Soshiro closed his eyes.
She started laughing into his shoulder.
And outside the door, the entire division immediately scattered the second Soshiro shouted—
“GET LOST!”

Learning to see you
Gen Narumi x reader
Small note: I’m really glad you’ve enjoyed my fics so far and I I’m always happy to do a request. Also I’m sorry if this isn’t as angsty as you wanted, it isn’t somthing I write a lot. anyways I hope you enjoy along with the rest of readers <3
The first thing most people noticed about you was how gentle you were.
Your voice was soft, the kind that never rose unless absolutely necessary. You smiled easily, listened carefully, and had a habit of holding doors open or quietly helping teammates without announcing it. You laughed when people joked, apologized even when something wasn’t your fault, and treated everyone with a kindness that almost felt old-fashioned.
Which was exactly why no one expected you to be one of the strongest fighters in the Defense Force.
Your combat ability was something people only discovered when they actually spoke with you, trained with you, or watched you in the field. On paper your numbers were impressive—but numbers didn’t capture the way you moved. Calm. Precise. Controlled.
Deadly when needed.
But outside of missions?
You were just… sweet.
And unfortunately for you, that sweetness had latched onto one very unfortunate person.
Gen Narumi.
Your friends did not understand it.
“Seriously?” one of them whispered one afternoon in the training room, watching him across the floor. “Him?”
Gen Narumi lounged against the wall like he owned the building, lazily scrolling through his phone with his uniform jacket half-unzipped. His posture screamed boredom, arrogance, and someone who absolutely knew how strong he was.
You felt your face warm slightly.
“He’s… not that bad.”
Your friends stared at you.
“He insults everyone.”
“…He does.”
“He’s rude.”
“…Sometimes.”
“He literally called you ‘useless’ last week.”
You hesitated.
“…He might’ve been having a bad day.”
Your friend looked like she wanted to shake you.
“Y/N, he has bad days every day.”
Across the room, Narumi glanced up from his phone.
His sharp eyes met yours.
Then his gaze shifted away like you were nothing.
Your chest pinched a little.
Because the truth was simple.
You liked him.
A lot.
And he very clearly did not like you back.
“Hey, softie.”
The nickname came with the usual lazy drawl.
You turned around in the hallway to find Narumi standing behind you, one hand in his pocket.
Your shoulders straightened automatically.
“Yes, Narumi?”
His eyes flicked down to the training reports in your hands.
“You’re on tomorrow’s squad rotation with me.”
Your face brightened a little.
“Oh. Okay.”
He scoffed.
“Don’t slow me down.”
The words were blunt. Dismissive.
You felt the sting but forced a small nod.
“I won’t.”
Narumi hummed skeptically.
“Yeah? Because from what I’ve seen, you’re all smiles and tea parties.”
Your fingers tightened around the papers.
You didn’t argue.
Didn’t defend yourself.
Just gave a polite bow of your head.
“I’ll do my best.”
He clicked his tongue and walked past you.
“Try harder than that.”
The next day, a Kaiju attack hit the outer district.
Sirens wailed. Buildings shook. Smoke curled into the sky.
Narumi landed on the battlefield with his usual casual confidence, weapon resting on his shoulder as he surveyed the destruction.
Then he noticed you standing beside him.
You looked nervous.
Your grip on your weapon was steady, but your shoulders were tense.
He rolled his eyes.
“Great.”
You glanced at him.
“I won’t get in your way.”
“Good.”
The Kaiju roared.
Everything happened fast after that.
Narumi launched forward first, moving with terrifying speed. The creature swung a massive claw toward him—
—and you moved.
Narumi barely registered it at first.
Just a flash.
A blur.
Then suddenly you were there.
Your blade cut clean through the Kaiju’s limb before it could reach him.
The impact echoed through the street.
The monster shrieked.
Narumi blinked.
You landed lightly on the ground, breathing steady.
“…it’s Left side is weaker,” you said softly.
Then you ran forward again.
Narumi stared.
For the first time since meeting you…
He looked surprised.
After that mission, things began to change.
Not all at once.
Narumi didn’t suddenly become nice.
But he started watching you.
At first it was curiosity.
Then confusion.
Because the gentle girl he’d dismissed kept doing things that didn’t make sense.
You fought like a veteran.
But off the battlefield, you still held doors for people.
You could slice through Kaiju armor without hesitation.
But you apologized if someone bumped into you in the hallway.
You brought homemade snacks for teammates.
You stayed late helping rookies practice.
And worst of all…
You were still nice to him.
Even after everything he’d said.
Narumi didn’t understand it.
Three weeks later, he cornered you in the training room.
“Hey.”
You looked up from wiping the sweat off your neck and face.
“Oh. Hi, captain Narumi.”
You smiled.
Just like always.
It made something uncomfortable twist in his chest.
“Why?”
You blinked.
“…Why what?”
“Why are you nice to me?”
Your expression softened.
“Because you’re my teammate.”
“That’s not an answer.”
You tilted your head slightly.
Narumi crossed his arms.
“I’ve insulted you. Called you weak and useless . Told you to stay out of my way.”
You nodded.
“…Yes.”
“And you still smile at me like that.”
You hesitated.
Then quietly said—
“You’re not a bad person.”
Narumi scoffed.
“You barely know me.”
Your smile turned smaller.
“…I think I’d like to.”
Something about the way you said it made Narumi suddenly feel… strange.
Like the ground beneath him shifted slightly.
He turned away first.
“Tch.”
And left.
But that night he found himself thinking about it.
About you.
Months passed.
Narumi kept watching you.
And the more he watched, the more the picture changed.
You trained harder than almost anyone.
You never bragged.
Never demanded attention.
You helped others quietly.
You laughed easily.
And when missions got dangerous…
You were terrifying.
One afternoon during a joint operation, Narumi witnessed something that stuck with him.
A Kaiju broke through the defense line.
A rookie froze.
The creature lunged.
You stepped between them.
The impact slammed you into a wall.
Narumi’s heart jolted.
But before the dust even settled—
—you stood up.
Blood on your lip.
Weapon raised.
Your voice was calm.
“Everyone move back.”
The Kaiju charged again.
You didn’t hesitate.
Your strike split it straight down the center.
Silence fell over the battlefield.
Narumi stared.
You exhaled slowly, shoulders relaxing.
Then turned to the rookie.
“Are you okay?”
Your voice was gentle again.
Like the fight hadn’t even happened.
Narumi felt something in his chest twist painfully tight.
After that, he stopped insulting you.
Not completely.
But the harsh edge faded.
His teasing became quieter.
Almost reluctant.
You noticed, of course.
But you never mentioned it.
Just smiled at him like always.
And somehow that made things worse.
Because Narumi started realizing something he hadn’t expected.
He liked talking to you.
You listened when he rambled.
You laughed at his sarcastic comments.
You never judged him for skipping paperwork.
You even brought him coffee and energy drinks a few times.
Narumi stared at the cup of coffee like it might explode.
“You’re bribing me.”
You shook your head.
“You looked tired.”
“…I’m always tired.”
You smiled.
“Then you should rest more.”
Narumi watched you walk away.
Something warm settled deep in his chest.
And that terrified him.
The realization hit him months later.
Hard.
Painfully obvious.
During another mission.
A Kaiju burst from underground unexpectedly.
The shockwave threw everyone off balance.
You were closest.
Narumi saw the debris collapsing toward you.
His stomach dropped.
“Y/N!”
He moved without thinking.
Faster than he ever had.
He grabbed you and pulled you back just before the concrete crashed down.
Dust filled the air.
Your body was pressed against his.
Your eyes were wide.
“…Narumi?”
His heart was racing.
Too fast.
Way too fast.
He realized his arms were still around you.
He didn’t let go immediately.
For a moment, neither of you spoke.
Then you gave a small nervous laugh.
“Thank you.”
Your smile was soft.
Relieved.
Trusting.
Narumi’s chest hurt.
Because suddenly he understood something he’d been ignoring for months.
He cared.
A lot.
Maybe too much.
And the worst part?
He remembered every cruel thing he’d said to you before.
Guilt clawed through him.
He stepped back quickly.
“…Don’t mention it.”
You nodded.
But something in your expression looked uncertain.
Narumi turned away before you could see the conflict on his face.
That night he found you sitting alone on the rooftop.
You were looking at the city lights.
Narumi almost left.
But his feet kept moving forward.
“You’re out late.”
You turned.
Your smile appeared automatically.
“Oh. Hi.”
There was that warmth again.
Narumi hated how much he liked it.
He leaned against the railing beside you.
For once…
He didn’t have anything sarcastic to say.
The silence stretched.
Finally, you spoke.
“…Did I do something wrong?”
Narumi frowned.
“What?”
“You’ve been avoiding me.”
His chest tightened.
Of course you noticed.
You looked down at your hands.
“If I upset you somehow—”
“You didn’t.”
Your head lifted.
Narumi exhaled slowly.
Then ran a hand through his hair.
“…I’m the one who messed up.”
You blinked.
He stared out at the city.
“I was a jerk to you.”
“That’s—”
“Don’t.”
His voice was quiet but firm.
“Let me finish.”
You fell silent.
Narumi swallowed.
“I judged you before I knew you. Called you weak. Treated you like you were nothing.”
He clenched his fists slightly.
“And you were still kind to me anyway.”
Your expression softened.
“People can change.”
Narumi looked at you.
Your eyes were warm.
Hopeful.
It made his chest ache.
“…Yeah,” he muttered.
“Sometimes they do.”
Another pause.
Then he said the words that had been stuck in his throat for weeks.
“…I like you.”
Your eyes widened.
Narumi looked almost irritated with himself.
“Don’t make that face.”
“I just—”
You laughed softly, a little breathless.
“I didn’t expect that.”
Narumi rubbed the back of his neck.
“Yeah well. Neither did I.”
Your smile grew slowly.
Warm.
Happy.
And suddenly Narumi felt like maybe he hadn’t completely ruined everything after all.
“You took a long time to figure it out,” you teased gently.
He scoffed.
“Slow burn.”
You laughed again.
And for the first time since meeting you…
Narumi realized something.
Your kindness had never been weakness.
It had always been strength.
And somehow—
You’d been strong enough to love him even when he didn’t deserve it.
He wasn’t going to waste that chance again.
A Soldier’s Return
Soshiro hoshina x reader
The headquarters of the Defense Force rarely slept. Even in the quiet hours of the night, alarms could sound and soldiers could be called into battle at a moment’s notice. For soshiro hoshina that reality had become the rhythm of his life.
Tokyo had become his world.
Cold steel corridors, mission reports, endless strategy meetings, the distant echo of explosions in the training fields. Days blurred into nights until weeks passed without him realizing how much time had slipped through his fingers.
And far away from that world—miles of countryside and mountains separating them—was you.
His wife.
His home.
Not a fic but I decided I might also want to also start posting some of my art 🖼️ anywayssss I drew our nonchalant king Saiki and painted him with water color. What do yall thinkkk 🙂
Hellooo! I'm back to ask for more Hoshina if you don't mind :9 The topic would be on how he would slowly, but surely ask the reader out while leaving hints (with some teasing inbetween ofc). Also wanted to ask if there are any other fanfics coming out or if you are working on your original story if you dont mind. Hope you are doing well and as always, thank you for feeding this greedy simp! ^q^
The long game
Soshiro hoshina x reader
Small note: Heyyy my lovely readers! This was fun to write and I hope you enjoy and Hopefully I’ll be getting some ideas and some fics written soon. I’ve just been super busy and honestly really physically and mentally tired, but I’m doing okay.As for my original story “Golden Hours,” I honestly kind of forgot about it 😭, but I do have a few other parts written. I just have to edit them and they’ll be posted soon.On another note, thank y’all for being patient with me and for all the love. I really appreciate y’all. Hope you enjoy!
Soshiro Hoshina was a patient man.
Not many people realized that about him. Most saw the smirk, the teasing tone, the casual confidence that made it seem like he never took anything seriously. But patience was exactly what allowed him to be the Vice-Captain of the Third Division. Patience, observation… and knowing exactly when to strike.
Apparently, that applied to asking someone out too.
Because if Soshiro Hoshina did anything, he did it slowly.
Very slowly.
Hands off the vice captain
Soshiro hoshina x reader with no filter
The first thing everyone in the Third Division learned about you?
You had no filter.
The second thing?
You absolutely did not care.
And unfortunately for Soshiro Hoshina, Vice-Captain of the Defense Force and certified menace with a blade, you were particularly vocal when it came to people forgetting you were standing right there.
Tonight was supposed to be simple. A small post-mission gathering. Casual. Civil. Safe.
Safe.
You were standing beside Soshiro, fingers hooked lazily into the fabric of his uniform sleeve while he chatted with a few officers from another division. You weren’t even jealous. Not at first.
Then she did it.
One of the visiting officers — pretty, polished, confident — laughed a little too brightly and placed her hand on Soshiro’s arm.
Not a tap.
Not an accidental brush.
A resting hand.
You blinked once.
Twice.
Soshiro kept talking like he hadn’t noticed.
Oh. Oh no.
You smiled sweetly. “Wow,” you cut in smoothly, tilting your head. “That’s crazy.”
The officer looked at you, surprised. “Sorry?”
“I just didn’t realize this was a petting zoo,” you continued casually. “Do you usually touch things that aren’t yours in public or is this a special event thing?”
Silence.
Someone choked on their drink.
Soshiro closed his eyes for half a second.
The officer stiffened. “I was just—”
“Just what?” you asked brightly. “Testing the fabric quality? I promise it’s durable. I’ve grabbed it plenty.”
There it was.
That grin.
The one Soshiro knew meant he had approximately five seconds before you escalated further.
“Alright,” he muttered under his breath.
But the officer, unfortunately, decided to poke back. “Vice-Captain Hoshina doesn’t seem to mind.”
You let go of his sleeve.
Oh no.
Soshiro felt the shift immediately.
You stepped closer to her, smile unwavering. “He doesn’t mind because he’s polite. I’m not.”
“Soshiro,” she tried, ignoring you now. “Maybe you should—”
That did it.
Your hand shot out and firmly but dramatically slid her hand off his arm.
“Maybe you should develop spatial awareness,” you said flatly. “I’m literally right here.”
Gasps. Actual gasps.
And then —
“Okay! That’s enough!”
In one swift motion, Soshiro stepped forward, hooked an arm around your waist, and hoisted you clean off the ground.
You yelped. “Soshiro?!”
“Apologies,” he said smoothly to the stunned group, already walking away. “She gets territorial.”
“I get territorial?!” you repeated, upside down as he threw you fully over his shoulder this time. “She was pawing at you like a clearance sale!”
Someone snorted behind you.
Soshiro’s hand settled firmly against the back of your thigh to keep you steady as he made his escape down the corridor.
“You cannot say things like that,” he muttered.
“I can and I will,” you shot back. “Did you see her hand? It lingered.”
“You called it a petting zoo.”
“It was accurate.”
He finally set you down once you were safely outside and away from witnesses. You immediately smoothed your clothes like nothing had happened.
“You embarrassed me,” he said, though his tone lacked any real bite.
“You love it.”
He didn’t answer.
Because you weren’t wrong.
You crossed your arms. “I don’t like when people act like I’m invisible.”
His expression softened.
That was the real reason. Not jealousy. Not insecurity.
Disrespect.
You had never been subtle about claiming what was yours — and more importantly, about not letting people disregard you.
Soshiro stepped closer, brushing a stray piece of hair from your face. “I know.”
You huffed. “Next time I’m biting someone.”
“You are not biting anyone.”
“Lightly.”
“No.”
You opened your mouth again — clearly preparing to launch into another argument about “justified defensive biting” —
And he kissed you.
It wasn’t rough.
It wasn’t heated.
It was deliberate.
One hand slid to the back of your neck, thumb warm against your skin, while his lips pressed softly against yours — firm enough to steal your words but gentle enough to melt the tension right out of you.
Your sentence dissolved into a muffled noise.
For once… you were quiet.
When he pulled back just slightly, your eyes were wide.
“You were about to say something worse,” he murmured, forehead resting against yours.
“…I was building a very strong case,” you protested weakly.
He kissed you again.
Shorter this time.
Sweeter.
Just enough to make your knees go a little unsteady.
“You,” he said softly, brushing his thumb along your jaw, “are impossible.”
You tried to look annoyed.
Failed.
“…She still shouldn’t have touched you.”
His smile turned fond. “And I still only want you.”
That did it.
All the sharp edges you carried for him softened instantly.
You grumbled, but your hands slid up to grip the front of his uniform anyway, tugging him closer.
“For the record,” you muttered, “if someone touches you like that again, I’m starting a war.”
A quiet chuckle left him.
“That’s exactly why I had to remove you.”
“You didn’t have to throw me over your shoulder!”
“You were escalating.”
“I was defending.”
“You were about to challenge her bloodline.”
You gasped. “You don’t know that.”
He raised an eyebrow.
“…Okay maybe a little.”
He leaned down, pressing one last warm kiss to your forehead this time — lingering, reassuring.
“I appreciate the loyalty,” he said quietly.
“Good.”
“But next time,” he added, lips ghosting near yours again, “I’ll handle it before you declare open combat in the hallway.”
You narrowed your eyes playfully. “Fine. But if someone ignores me again, I’m choosing violence.”
“You are choosing silence.”
“Unlikely.”
He sighed — fond, amused, completely smitten.
You might have had no filter.
You might have had a sharp tongue and zero patience.
But you were his.
And honestly?
He kind of liked that no one ever had to wonder where you stood.
Even if it meant occasionally carrying you out of a room…
And kissing you quiet before you started a war.
Silk between my fingers
Tamsy x reader
Fluff
The late afternoon sun spilled through the curtains in warm stripes, catching in Tamsy’s hair where he sat on the edge of the bed.
And God — his hair.
It fell down his back in thick, silky waves, light and glossy, almost unfairly beautiful. You’d been staring at it for the past five minutes.
He noticed.
“…If you’re gonna keep lookin’ at me like that,” he drawled lazily, not even turning around, “at least say what you’re plannin’.”
You huffed. “Your hair is literally criminal.”
That made him smirk.
“Oh? Is that so?”
“Yes. It’s unfair. It’s gorgeous. It’s wasted just sitting there doing nothing.”
He turned slightly, giving you a sideways glance. “Wasted?”
You crawled closer on your knees behind him, fingers already hovering. “Let me braid it.”
He blinked once.
“…You wanna what?”
“Braid it,” you repeated, completely serious. “Please. Just once. What else am I supposed to do with hair this pretty?”
He gave a soft, disbelieving laugh under his breath, but he didn’t move away. That was permission enough.
Your fingers slid into his hair.
And wow.
It was softer than it looked. Thick, smooth strands slipping between your fingers like silk. You gently combed through it first with your hands, separating sections carefully. He went still at the sensation.
“You’re enjoying this way too much,” he muttered.
“I absolutely am.”
You started dividing his hair into three sections, concentrating like it was the most important mission of your life.
Behind you, the world didn’t exist. It was just you, him, and the quiet sound of hair shifting through your fingers.
Tamsy’s shoulders gradually relaxed.
Your fingertips brushing the back of his neck… occasionally grazing his shoulders… the slow, repetitive motion…
“…You’re gonna make me fall asleep,” he murmured, voice lower now.
“Good. That means I’m doing it right.”
You continued braiding, occasionally smoothing down a stray strand. You even tucked one piece behind his ear carefully.
When you finally tied the end with one of your spare hair ties, you leaned back proudly.
“Okay. Done.”
He reached up instinctively, fingers brushing the braid. There was a pause.
“…Huh.”
“That’s it? ‘Huh’?” You gasped dramatically. “I worked very hard.”
He turned to look at you properly now, braid resting over his shoulder.
And you almost melted.
It suited him way too well.
“You’re starin’ again,” he said quietly.
“Because you look ridiculously pretty.”
His expression softened just a little — not teasing now, not smug. Just warm.
“You’re the only one I’d let do that,” he admitted.
Your heart did a stupid little flip.
He reached forward, gently catching your wrist before you could pull away, thumb brushing over your knuckles.
“…Next time,” he added lightly, smirk returning, “you’re doin’ somethin’ more complicated. If you’re gonna mess with my hair, might as well commit.”
You grinned.
“Oh, I fully plan to.”
And honestly?
You absolutely did.
