Do you have any specific resources that you use for painting accurate armor (and maybe ones that don't just show the pieces statically but in movement)? I really admire your knight paintings and would love to draw some knights as well but I'm struggling with finding references that are good and not ai generated. Thanks so much!

hello! There are plenty of resources for armour, although I will underline that the armour I draw is not accurate by many measures. That being said: 1. for movement I cannot recommend video formatted resources enough. There are plenty of historical armour channels, where they show process of putting on armours so you will not only see clasps, layers, but also they usually showcase the movement on specific pieces! My go to is Alex The History Guy on youtube to see all sides of armours. Dequitem does historical non-choreo combat videos, where you can see a lot of the movement too! Aegis Armour also posts great videos of showing movement of individual pieces of armour 2. armouries! European Armour Catalog my love <3 , also Royal armouries has some of the pieces showcased on their website. On bluesky at least there are historical enthusiasts also who will share zipfiles of photo collections they have taken during their visit to armouries...so keep a lookout for those! 3. historical references. Manuscripts are a good place to get a feel of accurate armour and how it was worn - but you usually have to do cross-study with other resources to understand how those pieces realistically look like. Knight effigies are likely the best way to get good feel of accurate armour and how it looked like - effigies were made to resemble a dead knight in his getup. ....and more! There are plenty ways to find references for armour without any ai involved! But these are what I'm using currently :)

So here is Nanny, proudly showing Greebo in a new cat-hat ( which was sent to her by her grandson, since it´s a big hit at Ankh-Morpork). Oh, Granny is a bit too happy to see the torment of this poor creature x_x

I accidentally did a Wikipedia binge about 1st wave feminism and fashion and stumbled upon the 1890s bicycle suit. Do people know about this? Why didn't anyone tell me about this? This is dope as hell.

It's old-fashioned. It's modern. It's butch. It's femme. It's snazzy. It's practical.

Wikipedia talks about the bloomers and the leg-o-mutton sleeves, but I'm also noticing a lot of these outfits have absolute supervillain lapels, which I also like a lot.
