treelish:
Addy turned to arthur, taking just a second to recognize him. he had been significantly more inebriated when they’d met during 124, and considering his first idea was to spike the punch, addy was learning to associate that character trait with him.
she knew he was trying to be nice, and honestly there were so many avoxes here that addy could entertain him. was her job not to make this experience good for all guests? avoxes weren’t supposed to say no to people asking for help. surely that applied to thinly veiled fun too, right? (oh, who was she kidding, she didn’t really care about the rules, only avoiding trouble)
so she nodded, smiling, and took his hand for just a moment. this would be fun. but she looked at him expectanly, clearly figuring he’d take point on this operation.
a satisfied grin on his face as she appeared to go along with his plan, he held his chin high for a moment to try and get a better view of the ballroom. “i think the only problem is that i’ve not seen a punch bowl anywhere. kinda boring, if you ask me. i like to be reminded of a bad high school prom at any given opportunity, i can’t believe the presidential ball wouldn’t even give us that, seeing as the quell seems to be all about throwbacks,” arthur mused, still searching for the non-existent punch bowl.
