“Hoh....”
Stepping out of his shop, Arthur bent down to retrieve a colored object resting in a potted plant beside his doorway. Twirling it between his fingers, an amused noise escaped him upon discovering it was an egg.
“Well, this is quaint. Happy Easter to me, I suppose.”
Hibiki had only heard good things about this tea shop. Ever since Io had told him about it, he and been thinking of paying it a visit. Today he would experience for himself if the tea here really was as full of flavor as Io had claimed it to be.
“Good afternoon,” Hibiki greeted the blond man inside the tea shop. “I’m looking for a kind of tea which will make me relax and sleep better. Is there anything you would recommend?”
Arthur’s back was turned arranging the display behind his counter when the shop’s bell chimed, eliciting from him a polite, “One moment.” Setting the last tin of leaves in its proper place, the Briton smoothed his shirt down and turned with a genial smile to his customer.
“Good afternoon, and wecome,” he returned kindly, hands resting on his hips as the raven spoke. “Relaxing and sleeping...” Turning, he walked around the counter to one of the shelves of tins and boxes. “There’s chamomile, passion flower, magnolia bark... Quite a few teas can help with those two activities, so it would be a matter of your taste.”
Smiling wryly, he beckoned the young man over as he plucked three tins from the shelf and set them on a table.
“Here we are. These are loose leaf teas, so come smell them.”

"England? Really?"
If she was attentive before, she was absolutely engrossed now. Her family’s vacations, after all, had always been within her home country; and foreign exchange students at her high school had been rare at best. She only hoped her interest wasn’t too untoward…
"I’d never left Japan before coming here, so I’ve only seen photos and the like…but England seems very beautiful. Do you have family in one of the bigger cities? Or—"
… Ah—
"Oh, I—I don’t mean to pry. I’m sorry, I let my curiosity get the best of me…"
"Yes, really."
A little humored expression played on the Briton's countenance at the girl's fascination. He enjoyed talking about his home country, and even more so when the person he was speaking to seemed interested. He was proud of where he had come from.
Chuckling faintly to himself, he shook his head and told her, "You needn't worry of being curious. I am happy to answer your questions; you seem invested."
Arthur cleared his throat and continued, "I do have family --in London, in fact."
"I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you very much."
A pause. Then—
"I’m actually surprised I haven’t come here before now, given how amazing your selection is. Did you open recently?"
"You are most welcome."
Arthur raised his brows at her latter comment, flattered at this and smiling a little wider. "No, but I have left for some time due to family matters back in England. So I did reopen."

"Um…good afternoon, Mr. Kirkland. I wanted to thank you for the advice you gave me the other day. I tried what you recommended, and I think it really did make a difference… Even my coworkers noticed."
A pleased smile spread across Arthur's face when he was told this, and he released a little hum as he smoothed his hands across a piece of paper he had been reading. Setting it aside, he chirped, "I'm happy to hear that. If you ever need more suggestions, I am always eager to assist."
Relief. At hearing Arthur’s response, at feeling the atmosphere deflate slightly, at the thought of spending quality time with Arthur for the first time in a year. Munakata’s chest settled and he felt less like a rock and more like a feather.
Apparently, he thinks to himself, I am still very much in love with this man.
He’d never questioned it.
"Well, then… 行きましょうか?"
Arthur wondered what it was that made this so easy. He wasn't discounting the fact that they would have to talk, of course, but now he wasn't nervous anymore. Maybe deep down he had never truly been afraid to begin with.
It was very odd to care deeply for a person in that regard.
But he was smiling despite that strangeness, and with a laugh, confirming,
"はい."
"You caught me," he chimes, smiling easily. It feels less tense and unfamiliar on his face, now. Being with Arthur after so long, despite the circumstances…
Munakata quirks a brow at Arthur’s response and tilts his head thoughtfully, bringing his fingers to his chin.
"Is that so?" he muses. "Since it’s been so long and I haven’t anywhere to be myself, would you care to sit down for tea?"
He’s far too hopeful, he thinks to himself. The truth of the matter hangs over his head like a blade hanging by a horsehair…
Arthur was a bit weak to situations like this. He could hold grudge upon grudge when he wanted to, but the moment he was presented with something comfortable and warm, he latched onto it.
Which was probably why Reisi's offer, instead of making his stomach flutter with nerves, makes it flutter with a bit of hope as well.
"I would like that very much," he answers, working so very heard to speak without rushing. He was a bit of an open book, but in this instance it might be useful.
After all, he wants to believe that had Munakata really wished, he could have left without making a single offer.

"What a pity…" He huffs, very quietly, as if he hadn’t at all in the first place. Just a facade, of course. What isn’t a facade with him?
But he’s in good spirits upon hearing that pet name. It…really has been a while.
"Ah— sou, I should let you go. You weren’t in a hurry, were you?"
"Something tells me you are not very sorry over this fact," chuckles the Briton lowly. Certain quirks of Munakata had become relatively well-known to Arthur.
The ease of conversation was returning quicker than he'd expected, and he liked it.
"I....no, I wasn't particularly, to be honest with you..."
"Have I really become so predictable?"
Even if it’s for a split second, Reisi can’t help but feel a little hopeful at that smile. If it was a put-on or if the grimace he spied was genuine: he didn’t care.
It was enough.
"I'm afraid you have, love."
The name rolled off his tongue without a thought, and while Arthur startled himself a little with it, he didn't take it back.
Its naturalness would be taken as a good sign.
"Everything will be alright."
Such optimism for a man who has a drawer full of papers covered in marked-out failed letters of apology.
"For some reason, I'm not surprised to hear you say that..."
It's a half tease, but even so it's difficult to smile for longer than a moment. Perhaps he has an inkling of something like those letters.
(For he tried to write a dozen times over, too.)
He has.
"…There is no need to look so downtrodden."
At least there's that.
"...and why is that, Reisi?"
"Hoh… Is that so?" He knows exactly where that expression comes from.
He doesn’t like it.
"Well, that’s fantastic, isn’t it? Your tea shoppe has probably been long awaiting you."
At least they were mutually agreed on that one.
"Yes... It has taken some time to get it clean again..."
Arthur wonders vaguely if he's ever mentioned how much he detests small talk.
"Did you enjoy going back home? Hoh, could it be that you have returned to visit?"
For once, Munakata dances around the subject.
"...it was... it went well." Vaguely. Not really. "But... I actually moved back, Reisi."
Perhaps the clambering back and forth down the hall had gone unnoticed.
