so as long as tumblr keeps this, here's the tumblr version of etiquette that was maintained when twitter's quote-retweets affected artist visibility/notes:
for art that someone has added reblog commentary to (or removed the caption from), reblog from the source
otherwise, avoid adding reblog comments to art (as this will affect the artist's notes/visibility)—utilize tags and replies to provide commentary (which artists will absolutely appreciate)
reblog comments are comments added to the body of a post, not the tags and not replies.

It's not a great precedent, that's for sure.
It's still incredibly fucked up that my Credit Card company has any say over what I spend my money on.
I'm an adult, I earn my money like everyone else. Who the hell is MasterCard to say what I can and can't spend it on?
Mastercard's new policy unfairly targets the adult content industry, making sex workers more vulnerable, especially Black trans women. It mu
There is an ACLU petition to tell Mastercard to cut that shit out. Turns out it was an ultra-conservative activism group that pressured MasterCard into doing it, and was just reporting games for questionable content (presumably having never played them).
Many Steam users claim that Valve has set a "dangerous precedent" following its sweeping adult-only games ban policy update.
Even if you're in favour of removing adult content, what the actual fuck gives a credit card company the right to say what people can and cannot sell? MasterCard isn't your mom. It's not your spouse.
The only role that the credit card company should have in what purchases you make is sending the seller the money, and you the bill.
Like it or not, They Who Control Your Money can sometimes decide who they'll pay on your behalf and who they won't -- and they won't always explain their reason(s). I learned this nasty lesson from trying to buy a recumbent tricycle on Ebay through PayPal with my debit card. My bank paid up just fine, but PayPal cancelled the transaction almost immediately with *ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY NO EXPLANATION WHATSOEVER!!!* -- not even an "Are you *sure* you want this?" e-mail. Luckily I got all my money back (and dropped PayPal the next day!), but I ended up having to pay *more* later from a non-Ebay seller. The only advice that I can give you is to (maybe) use a debit card for that kind of thing while remembering a) that debit card purchases come *directly out of your bank account* (which means that you'd *better* have the money in your account to spend!), and b) you need to check to make sure that the bank and the card company will actually let you purchase Adult/NSFW content with it. So, yeah; I feel your pain on this one... 😒
Be it as it may, that's NO excuse forcing Steam to remove their games just because they disagreed with it. It's one thing to dislike something everyone else likes, but censorship is unforgivable.
