Like just on principle sausage would basically have to learn quickly how to control it. His own magic is capable of shutting down his limbs and his mind. He's constantly debating when to use magic because it not only may hurt other but even himself (But honestly its sausage if it means saving someone he'd happily jump in the fire)
and legs, who's been outcasted so often, being the literal SUN. He is in the kingdom of summer and his power matches and he's warm and bright and can even FLY!! He'd probably be so happy until he realizes his magic can't heal, or help, but only assist himself...
I can also see Sausage in like this sort of race against time to master his magic. He has to stay on top of all the sabotage and drama or else he might shut down from all the stress. But he starts to neglect little things about his friends without realizing it due to how focused he is on solving problems. Sausage swears he’s doing it to keep them all safe but then he eventually turns around and realizes how much distance he’s put between them and the guilt EATS at him (it drinks c:). Then it shifts when the books keep coming up, and he sort of begins to prefer being distant. It’s not because he likes it. It’s because he feels like it’s necessary in order to protect them all when something eventually goes wrong with him. (Sorry if it sounds out of character, I haven’t caught up with him that far yet ;-;) Less fear and more like a sad type of acceptance.
