My sad guy Severus before the Hail Mary arrived at Erid. He used to talk to the eggshell of the only pebble he and his mate who was aboard the Blip A. The pebble hadn't lived very long due to being very weak.

I headcanon that when an eridian's mate dies they carve a circle around their wedding band to honor them and to let others know they are widowed. Also I think you can guess why Grace named them Severus.
