Thank you for your birthday greetings. When I asked the priest after the mass to bless me because it is my birthday, he touched my forehead and said, “Lord, bless Naomi who is turning… 19?” 😁Ofcourse, I rectified and revealed my true age to which he replied, “3___ already?! Okay. Heavenly Father, bless Naomi who is turning 3___. May she overcome all the trials in her life and may she recognize your goodness, etc. etc.” It was a little embarrassing, especially since I have insecurities when it comes to my age. During the homily however, I was reminded that today is the Baptism of Jesus and to be baptized is to let Christ live in us (may you be a child or in your 50’s - regardless of age). Chili Davis, a former baseball player once said, “Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.” I choose the latter. What is important is I choose to let Christ live in me – which is also the reception of faith and grace. Thanks again! This Year of Mercy, may not only I, but also you, choose to have faith and be in a state of grace 😊. #birthday
