Hc that Poppy never lets any visitors stay the night in the hospital wing. Even when James and Peter beg, she always drags them away from Remus after full moons and she always catches them when they try to sneak back in.

​But she lets Sirius stay.

​James asks her about it one day, annoyed. "Why does he get to sit there all night? I'm his best mate too!"

​Poppy sighs and points to the magical monitor hovering over Remus’s bed.

​"Look at the vitals."

​She points to the graph. The line representing Remus’s pain levels is jagged and high. The line for his heart rate is erratic.

​Then, she nods toward the bed. Sirius has fallen asleep in the uncomfortable chair, his hand simply resting on Remus’s ankle over the blanket.

​"When Sirius is in the room," Poppy says, "Remus’s pain receptors drop by 30%. His heart rate stabilizes. His fever breaks faster. I don't let Sirius stay because I like him best. I let him stay because he’s healing for Remus in a way no potion quite manages."

​James shuts up after that.

I am a secondary school student (the level of education immediately preceding university in my country), and I am currently working on my final thesis. My research examines autistic masking behaviors, and I have developed a short anonymous survey to collect responses. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and I would be sincerely grateful for your participation.
