Hi! when you colour things digitally, how to you colour underneath the line art? The best ive come up with it make putting a partial transparency on the original picture, but it doesnt look quite right :/ thanks!

I made a guide because this is a very common question, but very VERY useful!! This makes things way easier:

1. Create new document

2. Paste your linework onto a NEW LAYER

3. Set that linework layer to MULTIPLY

4. Put all other coloring layers UNDERNEATH the linework. Those are where you color! (Layers 2 and 3 in image) This works on any paint program that has layers. If you have a layer option, you usually have some type of “multiply” setting.

If you don’t have multiply, it may be called something else. Mess around with the settings, but you shouldn’t have to change the transparency!
