ok but on the internet where it takes maybe 2 seconds to look at someones profile and go "ah, this trans woman might not like for me to refer to her with such terms! i wont use them/ill say something different!" Is it really a problem to just check. Cis girls might not care but for a girl who has almost definitely been referred to with those terms before and probably doesnt like being called "dude" or "guy" (because shes not those things) then its understandable that she wouldnt want to be called that!! its the same reason i might not want someone to call me "girl" in casual conversation!! its just that maleness is seen as the default so the former is normalized and those words are seen as "gender neutral"!!! and it doesnt really matter what these cis girls are doing because theyre not the focus here!!! why does everybody want to come up with reasons that its Actually Ok to make trans women uncomfortable!!! Oh i know!!! Its transmisogyny!!!!!!!! like i wouldnt even be giving a response but this shit is constant!!! it is not that hard to change your vocabulary just a little bit!!! do i say "dude" sometimes ? YES !! Do i also make an effort to not call my transfem friends that ?? ALSO YES !!!!! ITS NOT THAT HARD !!!!!
