I think the root of my adventures and my misfortunes is that I made a life decision at around 19, having read a combination of Gary Snyder and Dharma Bums, and living in the wilderness with flute and naked more days than I could count, that I was Taoist. The pebble looking up through the water at the sky. The unknown song. I couldn’t believe when I heard that not once, but twice... I listened to that quite a bit in my lonely yet mediative tower during pandemic in Cebu. It seemed to explain the hope that lies in the unknown, once we understand it is not to be feared.
