Apologies for the unexpected hiatus. I sadly caught covid, and it has been a pretty draining month, both mentally and physically. But I’m all good now, so I will slowly get back to roleplaying! Thanks for your patience!
imberhydro:
“ suppose I should be glad that I match that description those books gave you. “ Revali almost grumbled over all his words. Whilst her honesty towards everything in that section of the conversation was rather appreciated , there was just the slightest amount held deep down which only was annoyed by the idea of being judged first based upon some unknown authors information on his kind. Though there naturally was a chance it was incredibly correct he still did not like it all that much.
But once her reaction towards who exactly the Rito champion was became visible only a small yet overconfident laugh escaped his beak.
“ Yes the great champion. Glad you finally recognised that. “ He started for the most part calmly. Yet that calmness and politeness rather quickly dissolved once the mentions of Link had been brought up. If it was anyone else who was Aryll’s brother that would not be the case but Revali could not like the hero in any form. Even faking that he did to her was not possible without him wanting to remove some feathers.
“ oh , him. Suppose I do know that one but hardly important. “
Mariko tilted her head, confused. “Hardly important?” She repeated. “But... Aren’t you like... Colleagues or...?” Then it hit her, and she slapped her forehead with a smile.
“Oh, wait, I get it! You Champions are all so humble. Or... Maybe it’s a matter of secrecy, is it?” She glanced around with her eyes narrowed, as if anyone could possibly overhear their words. But no one was in sight.
“Well then... Hardly important Champion Revali,” she smiled, playing along with Revali’s supposed joke, “what are you doing here? I thought you lived up on the mountains. Is there any ongoing meeting?”
lightscaled:
Mipha returned Aryll’s smile. Truthfully Mipha was not at all surprised when she had discovered from Link that his sister loved climbing. And while it did remind her of the times when she and Link had played together around Zora’s domain, the one particular moment she remembered most fondly was the day she had discovered her healing abilities. While she did not know if Link was as serious about exploring still as he once was (and as his sister was now), if it had not been for him, she wouldn’t have something so precious to her that was instrumental in their battles against the numerous hordes of monsters and quite possibly the calamity itself.
Thinking more about that time during her childhood, she begins to wonder if it would be possible to travel alongside Aryll in her expeditions - as a healer for those moments when she would, undoubtedly, get hurt. She had joined both her father and the members of the guard on their quests as well as both backup and as their healer. It had come in handy dozens of times, but perhaps she had better ask Aryll first. If she turned her down… Well, she could always make potions for her to use on her adventures.
The somber thoughts of their impending duties was a heavy subject. Sometimes the young Zora princess wondered if they would make it out alive, but she had to believe in the hope that they would and that Link and the princess would carry out their duties as their ancestors did once before. When Aryll trailed off, hearing the sadness in her voice, Mipha frowned. Though they were all preparing to battle Ganon, she didn’t see why other’s had to suffer. Was it not their jobs to protect everyone so they could go about life as normal?
The rebound from the blonde made Mipha nearly jump, but she smiled again. Her enthusiasm was infectious, but the formalities she used regarding Mipha, made her embarrassed. She held her hands up in an effort to say that it wasn’t needed. “T-there’s no need for such gestures, Aryll. You can just call me, Mipha.”
Gently she touches a finger to the corner of her lips and asks, “Will you be alright traveling to such unexplored heights by yourself?”
“Mipha?” Aryll echoes, slightly confused. Her father had always recommended to address royalty with proper titles, but then again, Link was in quite friendly terms with the Zora princess. Aryll just shrugged, accepting that the familiarity would be extended to her, and smiled: “Alright, Mipha it is.”
She tilted her head at the question, a finger reaching to scratch behind her pointy ear. “Well, I mean... I don’t have much of a choice, do I? Link is always busy training. Sure, I’d like if he could join once everything is over but... I don’t think it’s bound to happen soon.” Her lips took a bitter curve at the thought.
“So, until then, I’m on my own. But it’s okay! I trained a lot, although I must admit there are not very steep places around Hyrule castle... Except for the Sheikah tower.” And as she spoke her eyes glanced around, catching a sight of the huge waterfall overlooking the Zora domain. Her pupils dilated on the spot.
“For example... I bet there would be an amazing view from up there...”
zorahealer:
“𝓓o not sell yourself short, Aryll.” Mipha informs the younger girl. She understood where her worries lied. It must have been frustrating when you want to support someone but couldn’t figure out how to do just that. Perhaps the princess could help her with just that. “You must be capable of many things. Even a smile can go a long way when helping someone with such an important job as your brother does.” She then paused before continuing. “If you want to do something else, then how about I help you find something that you could help him with?” It might not be instantaneously depending on what, but Mipha was certain that Link would appreciate Aryll’s help tremendously. The Princess’ mind began to swim in thoughts of how Aryll could assist Link. “Even if you do not possess a healing ability or being able to manipulate an element, I could teach you other ways of healing. Or even train you with a weapon of choice– so long as it has Zora ties. Some weaponry I may not be familiar with if they’re exclusive to somewhere else.”
The encouragement stole a tiny smile from Aryll’s lips. She knew Mipha was right, but putting those words into practice was tough, tougher than anyone could know. Sometimes she felt as if no smile could reach Link’s heart, and even messed the occasional bickering they happened to share when they were younger. Ever since he had been invested with his role, her brother seemed to have built a fortress around him. Even their father had noticed it, Aryll was certain of it.
However, the offer caught her attention with a renovated interest. Being taught some techniques by the Zora princess would have been invaluable. And maybe, Link would have finally noticed her again, relied on her shoulder once more. Yes, that could be it!
“Would you?” She stammered, still baffled by such generosity. “I-- Yes, I’d love to! I mean, my dad has taught me some fighting, but healing... Well, I don’t know much about it except from the very basics. But learning from you,” she gasped, eyer running at the princess’ hands, well aware of her healing powers, “that would be exceptional!”

Mipha laughed. “I thought you would be quite the opposite as Link’s sister, but you actually remind me of him when he and I were but children.”
Truthfully she wasn’t sure what she had been expecting. Meeting new people was always pleasant, but meeting Link’s sister was… Well, it reminded her of those now long gone days of playing make-believe with Link. Aryll gave us a kind of warmness, a radiance, that reminded her of the sun.
“I have heard much about you from him. You’re an avid adventurer, no?”
“Oh?? Do I??”
The compliment made her puff her chest with pride. Her, similar to her heroic brother?! It was already a massive compliment on its own, but coming from a Champion, it was probably one of the best of her life!
Aryll knew liked Mipha a ton already!
“Thank you!” She gave Mipha a beaming grin, so happy she even forgot how to pay proper homage to Zora royalty. “I am, yes! I love climbing! I wish I could explore more of Hyrule and climb its tops. I guess it’s a bit difficult under the current circumstances...”
Her enthusiasm got tuned down by a brief shadow passing over her eyes as she glanced towards Link. She knew her dreams might sound silly when everyone was preparing for a war, but...
“... But once my brother will defeat Calamity Ganon, I will climb all the top heights of Hyrule before anyone else does! And it will be all thanks to him! -- A-And you all too, of course!” And with that, she finally bowed before Mipha, realising she should have probably done it way sooner. “I’m honoured to meet you, Lady Mipha!”
zorahealer:
𝓜ipha shook her head gently. “No, not at all. You’re not being whiny as you so put it.” If anything, it was perfectly acceptable to feel the way she did for a loved one. “I often worry for my brother. Like Link, he gets into mischievous situations and I have to help him out one way or another.” However, Link got into far more dangerous situations than Sidon did– other than the time that she could recall that Sidon made his way up to ploymus mountain to try and fight a Lynel. A tough enemy to defeat, even for someone as skilled as she was. “I would be rather concerned if you weren’t worried as you were right now. That would be more of an issue in my mind.” She paused for a moment before continuing. “It is also good to remember that he is doing something vastly important. And you can do wonders by supporting him.”
Aryll stretched a smile at the reassurances -- Mipha’s understanding words were a relief, even more so considering they were coming from a Champion. For some reason, Aryll always had the feeling they wouldn’t be too forgiving of other people’s worries, given their own were way beyond ordinary. But the fact that she had known Mipha for a while certainly helped her speaking without a fear of judgement.
“Oh, right, Sidon,” she hummed, recalling her last embarrassing interaction with the young Zora prince. A quirky kid, but as nice as his sister was. Who knew, maybe he was worried about his sister too.
“Yeah but it’s easy for you to help Sidon. You’re older, and stronger,” she muttered, frowning at her own limits. “I don’t have much to offer to my brother, on the other hand. If only I was as knowledgeable as the princess, or as strong as any of you... I can’t think of a way to support him, really.”

zorahealer:
𝓜ipha gave a warm smile toward Aryll as she began to explain that she had grown a bit more, and that she enjoyed coming back to the domain. “Yes, I quite enjoy being here too… And not just because it’s my home. But the architecture and overall energy flowing within the waters has a calming effect on the body.” To which she raised her hand and softly placed it on her chest. After a moment she lowered the same hand and lowered it back to her side, listening to Aryll explain that it was also a good escape for Link. The Princess’s smile faded slightly when it was brought up that Link was assigned with Zelda. As much as she loved both of them so, she couldn’t help but feel a tad bit jealous over the matter. With that, she exhaled a breath and returned to her cheery disposition. “Yes… it does seem like he has gotten more silent these days. Perhaps I could arrange for him to visit the domain every now and then for a bit of relaxation and recovery from the stressful duties.”
“Oh, that would be a great idea,” Aryll agreed. “As long as he’s not busy training... Which is what he does most of the time, nowadays,” she muttered. “I mean, sure, sealing Calamity Ganon is a huge task and I can only imagine how stressful it might be for you all but... How good can it be to never take a moment to rest your mind?”
She sighed and shrugged. “Maybe I’m just being whiny. Sorry. I am just worried about him, that’s all.”
"i know it's curry but i tried not to make it too spicy." she still had to eat properly, and as fun as it was for him to prepare sweet treats and desserts, those would just have to wait until the entree was done. he cooked it with poultry, hoping it would be good enough. otherwise he'd just have to fix another meal for the younger.. - from teba @wiindful !
“Oh, no, no worries! Spicy is fine! My brother can eat burning rocks, I am sure I can manage some spiciness, no problem! Actually, the more the better!”
“Bring it on!”
IF YOU ARE OKAY WITH ICONLESS ROLEPLAYS REBLOG THIS SO YOUR FOLLOWERS KNOW !!
like as much as i love icons and a good psd, sometimes its just tasking to do. and not everyone has great resources. so if you’re okay with having threads with no icons, please reblog this so that people know you’re okay with it. i feel like roleplayers today are too focused on the aesthetics and won’t follow people who use base icons or even none at all. it’s not about icons, but about the writing !!

Pre-established relationships headcanons
Since Aryll is sort of a pre-established character in the AU where I write her, I thought I’d come up with some headcanons for her opinions on canon characters. Of course these are not putting any boundary to future interactions, but in case a mutual wants to go with pre-established relationships, these could be some ideas to work with!
Link: thought it was rather obvious, but I am still gonna write about it here. Aryll has a strong admiration for her brother, who is her first and most important confidant. She hasn’t missed how his new duty might create some distance between them, so she will always do her best to make the most of the time she can share with him, following him on his quests whenever possible.
Zelda: at first Aryll kinda kept her guard up around Zelda, as she hasn’t missed how the princess has been critical towards Link when he was appointed as a knight. Overall, she thinks Zelda is a nice person who has to deal with an awful lot of responsabilities, which can compromise her friendliness at times. Nonetheless, Aryll is grateful to Zelda for allowing her into the Royal library and, when the occasion allows it, to let her followe her brother on his missions. That does help her getting a more positive opinion on the princess as time goes by.
Mipha: Aryll likes Mipha a lot. She thinks she’s a gentle soul and a loyal friend for her brother. Since has been knowing her for a long time, Aryll is kinda aware that there might be some tenderness in Mipha’s care for Link that goes beyond friendship. She mildly ships them, but does her best to keep it to herself, as it’s her brother’s choice in the end.
Revali: despite Revali’s open dislike for Link, Aryll finds him so theathrical she can’t really take his sour words for serious, encouraged by the fact that Link seems to ignore Revali’s taunts as well. She actually finds him rather funny, and is deeply curious about him as he can fly, hence reach heights she can only dream of when climbing around.
Daruk: Aryll is slightly scared of Gorons, and downright terrified by Daruk. He’s loud, huge, and does a poor job on controlling his strength. While she knows he’s a nice one, she can’t help but cower in fear whenever she sees him.
Urbosa: Aryll loves the motherly and fierce vibe Urbosa gives. Of all the Champions, Aryll thinks the Gerudo leader is the one that feels more like an actual powerful celebrity, but due to how much she admires her, Aryll can be rather shy when approaching her. She does slightly hype inwardly whenever they interact.
King Rhoam: She finds him daunting and does her best to keep away from him when she can.
Sidon: Aryll can relate to Sidon’t admiration for his older sister, finding it rather endearing. She also thinks he’s a quirky little prince, as depicted in this sketchy comic, but does play along with his odd ideas of marriage, as she would never crush a child’s fantasy.
Impa, Purah, and Robbie: while Aryll is fascinated by the Sheikah’s gimmicks, she does often struggle to keep up with their creative quick-thinking. Overall, she finds them interesting but slightly weird.

“𝓐ryll… It is always a pleasure to see you.” Mipha smiled as her hands clasped around the hilt of her spear, the pointed size down in a non-threatening manner, hoping not to frighten the poor girl with such a weapon as the light-scale trident. “I do hope you have been well since the last time we’ve met.” The Princess inquired. Hoping that there was at least good news to share rather than the opposite. Naturally, darker times were upon them. But it was rather positive to look to the lighter side of things to keep in good spirits.
“Princess Mipha!” It was always nice to see her -- the Zora princess had the delicate ways of a true royal and the noble heart of a champion. Plus she always seemed so calm and crystalline... Just like water. Overall, Aryll thought it was impossible not to like her, and could see why her brother liked spending so much time with her. Among other reasons.
“I have, thank you! My father says I grew a whole span more,” she grinned. In fact... Wasn’t she as tall as the princess, now? It was hard to decide -- having known her for so long, Mipha always felt taller than her somehow.
“It’s always nice coming back here. This place is so beautiful.” She casted a marveled look at the Zora domain, shining of waterfalls and blue marbles. “It’s also a nice escape for my brother, I think. He’s... More serene when he’s here.” She frowned and lowered her look. “I mean, he has always been the silent type but he seems more distant since he was assigned with... You know.”
Gonna put this here too--

I just realised that Aryll and Zelda have the same age.
