“  oh . . .  i  apologize  .   i  didn’t  notice  you  were  still  around  .  ”          he  then  proceeds  to  apologize  a  second  time  ,   he  had  been  cleaning  his  feathers  quite  thoroughly  after  the  little  accident  he  had  .   the  wound  fully  healed  but  some  red  lifeforce  remained  there  .  .  .   hopefully  none  of  that  had  fallen  on  the  maiden’s  clothing  .

the  freshly  baked  dessert  sits  still  warm  on  the  table ,  big  enough  to  share  with  more  than  one  even  if  they  had  quite  the  appetite .   he  will  wait  to  see  whose  attention  it  brings .   it  was  his  own  secret  recipe ,  and  also  a  personal  favorite .   truly  anything  to  do  with  berries  was  on  top  of  the  list .   and  if  this  one  ran  out ?   not  a  problem  -  a  second  pie  was  on  the  way  and  nearly  done .

“  ah .   i’ll  assume  you’re  not  hungry ,  then ?  ”          now  that’s  a  shame .   he  took  his  precious  time  baking  some  pumpkin  pie  and  was  excited  to  share  it . . .

“  perhaps  another  day .  ”

She's pointedly staaaaaaaaring at Teba, her gaze contemplative as she stares and stares. With a resolved nod, she reaches into her skirt pocket to produce something within her hands.

"Well, considering how I found you last time. Something tells me I should give this to you." She opens up her hands and ta-dah!! A little Tingle doll, just for Teba. Wasn't he a lucky guy? "He's a lucky charm. Or so I read, certain books were a little confusing with describing who he was. But if you ever wanna travel anywhere, it's best to take him along with you. He'll protect you from everything! Who knows? You might even find some rupees here and there. A little extra money shouldn't hurt anyone!"

She doesn't wait for his reaction, taking his wing into her hands and placing the knitted plush into them. "Before you say anything, take it! I won't accept a no on this one! You seriously need the protection. I wouldn't want to see you hurt like that again." Scarlet life milk dripping down his wing still haunted her mind.

ah . . .  quite  fair  for  her  to  feel  the  need  to  gift  him  something  so  important  and  meaningful .  perhaps  it  was  in  fact  just  another  stuffed  toy  that  carried  no  magic  or  power ,  yet  the  warrior  couldn’t  help  but  stare  at  it  with  curiosity  and  blink  a  few  times  while  trying  to  process  things  ---  indeed  their  first  meeting  was  quite  awkward  and  full  of  cherry-red  hot  moisture .   but  that  should  be  left  in  the  past ;  his  wing  was  fully  healed  and  so  were  his  spirits .

“  thank  you ,  zelda .   i’ll  make  sure  to  carry  him  with  me  no  matter  where  i  go . . .   i’ll  need  to  be  careful ,  would  be  a  shame  to  lose  him  in  battle . ”          as  well  as  disrespectful ,  really . . .  who  would  ever  want  to  lose  such  a  precious  gift ?   taking  a  bit  more  time  to  study  the  doll  he  realized  the  resemblance  with  the  hylian  hero  he  knows  of . . .  perhaps  this  was  part  of  another  legend  he  was  yet  to  learn  about .

“  i  know  it’s  out  of  kindness  that  you  decided  to  share  this  with  me ,  i  still  can’t  help  but  feel  guilty  for  having  nothing  to  offer  you  in  return .   how  about  i  prepare  your  favorite  meal ?   it’s  been  a  while  since  i  cooked  for  others  and  i’d  like  to  share  that  with  you . ”

        While didn’t eat meals on the daily, treats and snacks were a guilty indulgence of his. Airin didn’t need to shift or even partially shift to smell what the rito was bringing… The scent of peanut butter too strong for that ( and too strong in his heart ). Though when an odd fruity scent also wafted curiosity spiked. 

        He was lounging when Teba approached. Dull, humane eyes brightened to something feline. Immediately standing up, Airin ogled the treats– to the point such excitement forced him to shift before the rito’s very eyes.

     “ It’s okay! It’s perfect! It’s wonderful! I’ll eat it all! ” Spry limbs had him bouncing around Teba. His words nearly drowning in the sea of chirps he showered his friend in. Although his mind was teetering on the edge of being feral, Airin knew he couldn’t eat everything in sight. Last he needed was a big belly ache.

well, he was right. this should be enough to make up for trying to feed them cooked fish. their excitement was rather contagious, and while he remained calm and seemingly collected, he still smiles when sitting down and leaving the tray with multiple treats to rest on the ground. he’d have handed them one to try and see if they’d even like it; good thing to know now just how much they enjoyed peanut butter.

“ maybe you shouldn’t eat all of it in one sitting... plus, if you take your time to eat you’ll get to enjoy everything even more. ”

he’s the kind that really aims to appreciate a meal as much as one could, even if it was a small treat or a piece of fruit. he’d relish those flavors and let them linger for a while before going for a second bite; it was a bit frustrating seeing those who’d just stuff their faces. sure they were still satisfying that need, but... it seemed like a big waste. however they wanted to eat was fine, though... but he still picks up one of the cookies and offers it to them.

“ you probably already figured it out, but they’re peanut butter flavored. and i made sure they’d remain filled with some of it as well. they should be very rich in flavor. ”

there’s a figure he’s very much unfamiliar with, soaring through dark skies and near the flight range. the reason he was able to even spot them to begin with; whatever he was looking at, he feels the obligation and responsibility to investigate further. by meeting them on the sky he keeps his distance --- just in case. and although he shouldn’t let his guard down, there’s still marvel reflected in his eyes. the creature looked like him and yet they were far from being the same...
