Sorry I’m running late!
@princessbriana You better save me some of Cook’s dinner rolls.
Where are you running off to, doll?
Oh my! You scared me, who the hell are you? I’ve never seen you in the castle before. Are you a contestant?
Not quite. I am Lord Asael, here to hopefully strike an alliance with your beautiful kingdom. I wasn’t looking forward to the task very much, but now that I know that someone as pretty as you is here…
Well, I suppose I’m flattered. I’m Lady Natasia, if we’re being formal, but away from the proceedings of the court I prefer Cheri. If you hope to catch the king you’ll want to attend this dinner I’m headed too.
Also, I couldn’t help but notice you share a name with one of Sylvaine’s Gods. Is your kingdom religious too?
A lovely name for an even lovelier woman.
Ah yes, I was invited but I got lost looking for the Great Hall. I’ll follow you, if you don’t mind that, Cheri.
Err, not so much my kingdom as…my parents. They are very devoted to various gods, including, as you can tell, Asael. Why? Are you not religious?
I don’t mind at all. Please feel free.
No offense meant by this, but any inkling of belief I had of the Gods died last summer. Quite frankly I don’t know how you can sit there and believe when such horrid things happen in this world.
And don’t even get me started on Asael. Not you, but the God obviously I don’t even know you- ok I’m rambling now. Let’s just say none of my prayers were ever answered. Me and love don’t mix.
Ah. I’m very sorry to hear that, but I have a hard time believing that your story is over. And I do see your point, but sometimes hope of someone out there watching over us is the only thing keeping people together.
Also I couldn’t help but overhear that you were talking with who I assume was the princess earlier about possibly setting her up with someone? I’m a sucker for forbidden love stories. If you’d like a hand, I’m happy to help speed up the process of getting them together.
