Stiv Bators performing at CBGB with the Dead Boys during their heyday back in ‘77, as captured by video artists Pat Ivers/ Emily Armstrong, the duo behind the GoNightclubbing Archive who documented the punk scene in real-time as it played out in clubs across New York, creating an unparalleled collection of hundreds of hours of live performances and interviews on video, thousands of photographs and hundreds of pages of ephemera.
Stiv Bators was a live-wire performer who provided lots of stunning poses but this shot definitely fits the definition of iconic punk photography.

Perhaps you yourself have concealed a secret that in its joy or in its pain you felt was too intimate to share with others. Perhaps your life has put you in touch with people about whom you suspected that something of this nature was the case, although neither by force nor by inveiglement were you able to bring out into the open that which was hidden.
