There were plenty of options here, the main one should have been to let him go. To walk away and cement his bad decisions, forever dedicating himself to the space that separated them. Unfortunately he was way too selfish to accomplish that at the moment, or ever, really. Letting go was not something that he had ever practiced and when you had centuries to grow attached to your own bad habits, well, they were even harder to get rid of. A pause for a moment, as if the indecision was actually weighing, as if he were actually fighting against it. Dark eyes considered who and subsequently what stood in front of him. A heart that had been meant to be hollow, blackened by both time and lack of design worthy for love, sure did feel real when it was beating like that behind his ribcage. As if it were trying to physically exit his body for the sake of returning the favor, for the sake of putting it firmly in his hands.
Kihew steps away, he steps forward. A cruel exchange, a game of keep away that is not supposed to actually be that, a game. It's meant to be something far more than that, but surely the rumors about them were already churning. There really was no making it worse, but then again, he was all out of fucks to give. Head tips but this time so that words are firm in the way they whisper against the shell of his ear, an unintentional suggestion, or a trigger, that will bring back better memories of them. "You don't want me to leave and you sure as fuck don't want me to leave without you. What you want, is for me to remind you that I love you, that I fucked up in playing savior and I ain't never been one for salvation. What you want, is to get in the fuckin' car. So, I suggest you do what you want, but you'll call me selfish for that."
Speech concluded, fully expecting it to be fuel to the fire, hell probably the final step to actual violence. A part of him would have been thoroughly amused if Kihew did haul off and hit him for it, but at least he'd had the decency not to smirk when he pulled away. Features were intentionally stoic, stripped clean, nodding as if to say a cordial thank you maam, by the way of so called charm, and stepping away. That distance was probably cruel, especially in contrast with the closeness they'd just spent entirely too much time in. He didn't pause though, and instead turned to leave, to the mentioned car. Truth be told, he didn't expect to be followed. He expected to have his shit rocked, and not in the good way.
