Display peonies. Once hard to find, peonies are much more common in flower markets and florists than they once were. The peonies are the queen flower of romance in China and in feng shui. If your love life has ground to a halt, purchase red and pink peonies for the Chinese New Year. The red is highly regarded as a good fortune color (as well as passion!) and the pink is regarded as the romantic and tender kind of love.

After grueling a 2 mile hike on all hot rock and slate, this little guys paws were all torn up. I’m sure it was worth it for him as he seems to be half otter after seeing how much he loved swimming in the secret lake at the first end of the hike. We were all concerned as he was unable to walk, thankfully we were ll pretty handy campers and fitted him some little booties for his feet made out of a ripped shirt. He was thrilled to be able to walk again without the pain of his shredded pads and I took this picture later in the day as he waited for his dinner. Minolta//Film
